TE TROUBLE

marcy - the quieter you can be (I know, impossible!) the less your drain will have, but keep in mind it is doing a job - so even though they are a pain, they are there for a reason. You don't want a seroma if it is pulled too soon. Glad your event went well.

Yay, Mrchon! I am glad you kept it. Now, take it as easy as possible. Glad you are on antibiotics, but remember to get probiotics or yogurt going- bathroom issues otherwise! (speaking from experience - still on them myself! LOL) Drains are a pain, but SpecialK is right, they are working so just hang in there.

Good to hear you're doing OK Mrochon. Keep resting.
Marcy, take it easy and rest and your drainage should go down.

Thank goodness all is okay, Mrochon. Do rest as much as you can.
Marcy, take it easy.....easier said than done, I know.
MTNester and Olgah - sending you good thoughts for this week!
DLL66 - How are you doing? Your date is fast approaching.......
A couple of days ago, I noticed a pinkish tint on my right side (new TE side). Took off the brown tape that had vitamin E on it. Sure enough, it was a reaction to the tape. Now, no more pink. I am so sensitive to these tapes! My next fill is Thursday so I'll find out an alternate way to apply the vitamin E without the tape.
Hoping we all have a a restful night of sleep,
T

The house is clean, laundry is done, bags are packed. We will head out tomorrow after work (3 hour drive to surgery city). I'm excited, nervous...all of it! I hope to be home again Wednesday night.
Mich M and Olgah, best of lick to you this week! Hugs and healing and good fills to you all.0 -
MT - good luck (or lick!) let us know how you are doing as soon as you can!

Marcy - what a horrible feeling to go backwards and feel like you did right after BMX... Although I did not get a drain after loosing my TE, I did have a day where I felt like I went back to square one! Luckily, it only lasted a day. Hope you feel better soon.
Michelle - so glad you are okay and saved your TE! I can only imagine how freaked out you were. I know first hand how hard it is to rest and do nothing, and I wish you luck in your quest of rest and relaxation

Hi all, feeling much better today! Moving around more. My daughter and her boyfriend watched the fame with me in my room. They've now abandoned me and gone to the livingroom.
Marcy - how are you feeling? I hope you are resting up and that output is decreasing.
My right side is slightly pink but it feels ok.

MT...good lick! ;-)

mtnester....When I have gone back and read some of my posts from my ipad typing, it is embarassing! I asked for, and received a wireless keyboard for my ipad at Christmas. I love it. Makes typing much easier and a little more accurate.
Mrochon...glad things are going well. Take it easy.0 -
Good luck this week, MT, Mich & Olgah!
Glad you are feeling better, mrochon.
I am doing well -- thanks for asking, Tatina. My PS will probably move my lat flap a little to make sure there is enough coverage in my problem area. I don't remember if I already l posted that, LOL. Boy, it has been a long 2+ months without an implant!

Well, just had last fill (overfill) on the new right TE. PS also wanted to do one last fill on good old lefty, who's been sitting there since May. It took 3 times for her to get the needle into the fill port. She said that sometimes the fill port flips over and she can't get the needle in, but she finally was able to. This has happened a couple of times before. So I got all numbed up 3 times, and stuck 3 times. It looked like a ping pong ball was growing off my expander, but it's settled down now that I'm home and have been massaging it down. No pain, but very tight. She also said that I have a lot of scar tissue around the TE and she will have to do some extra work on that side at exchange time (which will be sometime in May). I will see PS once/month until exchange. I really hope it's all going to be OK. Again with the constant worry.

Congrats on your last fill, Momof3!

Yeah Momof3.

mrochon - glad to hear that you're recovering well from the ooph and that your TE is still intact!! All good news:)
Marcy - I hope your drain output has slowed down…you really do have to take it easy.
Momof3 - congrats on finishing with the fills…it's a huge milestone.
MTnester - yay for our surgeries tomorrow!!! I'm so excited…I just pray that after all this time that I'll be happy with the way the implants look. They better look damn good:) Hoping the same for you.
Hi to everyone else. I hope you're all doing well.

I'm not very optimistic about this drain. I rested a lot yestereday and today but my history is a huge output. After 5 weeks post BMX, I was still outputting 50-60cc on each side. I'm trying to keep my spirits up. Today was a better day than yesterday but I'm pretty exhausted right now (7:30pm) and I did much of nothing all day. I feel like muscles are dissolving after 12 weeks of doing nothing. This is crazy and can't be good for me.

Mich-M - Hope all goes perfectly!

Thank you:)

Mich_M and MTnester: Good luck tomorrow getting your implants!
Momof3: Awesome you are done with fills! Really awesome. Now it's time to be patient again. But I know you can do it! We've all had lots of practice with the P word.
Marcy: I know the feeling about lack of exercise. It's a Catch 22: If we do too much, we have more output (or seepage, in my case); if we do too little, we lose muscle tone and gain weight (again, my case). I had a lot of drainage after my TE was replaced b/c PS removed a lot of scar tissue and that really causes the body to bath the area in fluid. It's such a delicate dance b/c they also can't take the drain out too soon or the fluid just builds up inside.
I am feeling very frustrated tonight. My right TE is still seeping, but instead of every day, it's every 5-6 days or so. Like clockwork. I just don't get it.

Thinking great thoughts of you today, MichM and MTnester!
Marcy, don't push yourself for that drain to come out too early. That's where my problems began. The drain keeps infection away, so just let it run it's course. I had my last drain for 17 days. One day at a time:)

I'm off for my 2nd fill today, first one was 20cc and today don't know....but I'm getting more mvt in that arm.
Ladies, I tried to sleep on the side. Of the te and it wasnt too bad, is it dangerous to do this?0 -
Loads of "drain" talk going on... I didn't like mine and for some reason, thought I would never have to deal with them again! I didn't get a drain after I lost the TE... but from what it sounds like, will have drains again!
Did you all get a drain when they put the TE back in? I still have soreness on my bad side from when they removed the drain. That side has been through so much already!
Anyway, so many of us are going through a lot right now. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Together we are an Army, kicking cancer's ass!!!

red - I just did whatever was comfortable - ask your PS though what they recommend.
DM - I did not have a drain when it went back in, only when it came out because I had so much serum oozing.

I did have a drain when my PS put the TE back in. Actually had quite a bit of drainage because while she was in there, she broke up all the existing scar tissue.
0 -
momof3 - that is probably why I did not have one - my PS specifically didn't touch the scar tissue because the reason for the loss of my TE initially was not infection but weakened skin from numerous excisions. He didn't want to aggravate that so he just put the TE in and closed. I think probably most people would have a drain as you did.

I had one on each side for 9 days.
