Fluff, that's a funny story! I would have freaked too.

Mich, yes let's compare notes tomorrow!

Mrochon, yes I had the exchange and "girl gut removal" at the same time. I'm wondering where I will sleep tonight... 5 days of this gas?oy.

MyPS put in 800 cc high profiles. Im going to try very hard to not be discouraged while waiting for the drop and fluff.

I'm getting 800ccs too at exchange. Let us know what cup size you end up being!

The gas is the worst. The pain was manageable for me. But the gas...ugh!  Especially when it rose up the chest! Did you have it done laproscopically?

It was robotic. I have five incisions on my belly. One is oozing a little tonight. Ugh.

I will definitely let you know what size I end up being. How much time are you taking off work?

I took off 2 1/2 weeks. But I honestly could probably go back this Monday after a week. I'm feeling ok now but it's still difficult to sit for longer periods. I have a desk job. But I can work from home so I'll prop myself up in bed. :-)

I'm not seeing the PS until next Thursday so will have to tell you then what implants I got. She brought in 3, I think they were between 375 and 410 maybe? So half the size of yours MT. I was small before BC though so I'll still be bigger than I was. Had another crappy sleep last night. I took 2 pain pills when I went to bed at 10….slept a little on and off, couldn't get comfortable, then at 1:30 took a sleeping pill…I don't think it helped at all.

MT & MichM-Yeah on the squishies!!  Mich-I am at 450cc and that makes me a C.  I was an A before so these are VERY nice.

Had 2 dr apts yesterday.  The first was my 6 month PFC.  Can't believe it has almost been a year since my mammo that got this whole mess going.  She wants me to take more vit D (2x a day) and up my potassium.  I have been getting muscle cramps at night and she thinks it is a combo of potassium level and tamoxifen.  She also wants me to try ambien for a month because I am not sleeping.  She said my body got out of a good rythm du to surgeries and I need to get back into one.  Took one last night and slept from 10:30-4 without waking up once!

Then it was off to the PS.  I was hoping to schedule nipple surgery BUT he doesn't like the way the left one (problem side) had dropped lower then the right one.  So now he wants to go in and tweek leftie and do a round of fat grafting, wait 2 months and do nips and more fat grafting, then tatoos.  Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.  But he's right, I want it done right the first time, while insurance is paying.  So he's trying to get me on the schedule for the 27th.  Please pray this happens because he is having surgery the 28th and can't operate for 3 weeks.  I just want this all over and if I can get this one in soon I can get the next one in early May.  I don't want another messed up summer.

    Fluff-I would have freaked out!!!

Oh Ladies... I think the incision from loosing TE is up to old tricks! I am 3 weeks post-op and there is the grey/brown hue that runs the length of incision... most of the skin seems to have fused together, but some skin still separates when I touch it!

My gut tells me I am still dealing with necrosis... I sure hope I am wrong. Today is my birthday, and I have my next PS appt on Valentines Day... guess I will wait to call PS tomorrow, and try to enjoy my day as best as possible.

Do you get sore right after the TE fill? Or does it take a couple of days? I wanna know cause my day off is Wed and I thought if the PS has time I could always go that day and by the weekend go into "hibernation". I haven't had my surg yet but I am still gathering all this info which is good to know. Possible nausea from anes, possible half moon tatoos..etc.

    Chick,

I'm really sorry you have to have another surgery but hopefully you can get it done before your doctor goes out.

It's just February but I'm like you, I want everything done so I can have a good summer.  We put a pool in in 2010 but it wasn't finished until August.  Last summer I probably could only swim in it 5-6 times because I was always healing from a biopsy or surgery.  I'm hoping for a surgery free summer for everyone!

I went to my PS on Tuesday.  Everything is doing well.  He did my nipples during my exchange and they look great.  My scars are still a little inflamed so he's waiting to do my tatoos for about 6 weeks.  He said the lady that does them will call me to arrange the appointment.  And then he said we were done.  I don't have a follow-up appointment.  I have gotten so used to going there, I feel a little lost.  It's very weird.

    Layla,

I always got sore later in the day after my fill.  Everyone is different, but in the beginning for me it wasn't that big of a deal.  My last two fills were very painful. Not during the fill but later in the day and for the next 2-3 days.  I actually had to take some of my left over Lortabs for the pain and pretty much stayed in bed.  Others have said that their TEs felt better the more they were filled so I think everyone's experience is different.

Yay, MT & Mich! Will be sending positive thoughts for you, chickadee! Glad your PS is intent on getting it right, though.

Happy BIrthday, DM. Sure hope that it isn't necrosis.

Glad you are doing well, jbennett.

Poor Fluff! I can imagine how freaked out you must have been.

DM13: Happy Birthday! I suggest taking a close-up photo of your incision line and emailing it to your PS. Keep taking photos to monitor how it is healing. It's the only way to track it objectively.

MTnest and Mich and MRochon: Keep on healing, you girls are doing great!

Hope you sleep better tonight mich! I took a shower, that was heaven. I have a lot of fluffing to do lol!

Chick, boo to more surgery. DM- happy birthday! Good luck to you. JB, I think it will seem odd to not see my dr every week. Layla, mine hurt a few hours after the fill and into the next few days.

I need to eat something but nothing sounds good. Maybe another Greek yogurt...

DM - Happy B-day!  Sorry about possible new issues with your incision line :(

My fills usually did not hurt at the time - maybe a little soreness later in the day and into the next day - but certainly nothing major.  Only took something for pain once - that was after a double 50cc fill, then dropped back to only 25ccs at a time.

Ren-Add me to the surgery list.  2/27-revision to leftie and fat grafting.  So happy that he can get me in before he goes out for 3 weeks.  This will be the 4th incision into leftie and I am getting a little nervous about the idea.  Have to assume he wouldn't do it if he was worried....

jb-good to hear from you!  you and I were diagnosed days apart and you are one of my "leaky" buddies.  So no fat grafting for you then?  I hadn't seen my PS in 2 months.  Did he discuss how they are going to monitor your implants?

DM- happy birthday.  sure hope your incision is cooperating.

SpecialK- I'd do it with you on the 24th but DH has a huge meeting.  I am getting pretty good at these surgeries, but I doubt I can drive myself home!  The fg makes me the most nervous.

chick - have you had any FG done yet or is this your first?  I will def have it done - I have spots left over from the BMX that need to be softened.  My PS will not do it until a few months after exchange.  I joked with him that I had an abundance of fat available and he said he could help me out with that! Lol!  And, please don't try to drive yourself - don't even wan't to think aboiut how that would go!  I tried mixing Vicodin with a 4 mile walk a week or two ago - it was interesting!

oooh jealous of you guys getting the fat grafting done in February. I decided to wait until after my last Herceptin on March 20, so my surgery is scheduled for 3/30. Going to have him do as close to a full abdominal lipo as he can, so he scheduled a 2.5 hour or session.  I am trying to decide whether to work out like crazy to see what I can tone up before then, or just let it all stay flabby and suck it out. LOL

This will be my first. I was hoping to only do one fg...when I got nips. Then I was going to just say "good enough". But yesterday the ps was frustrated by the "slippage" and wants to revise before doing nips. And he is right, I should have it done right the first time. So am I the only one having fg twice. Ps says only 60% sticks so he wants to do it twice.

    Hi everyone,

Just came back from my 100cc fill. I have another 2 appointments spaced out 2 weeks apart. If all stays steady, I'll be done with the fills by March 8. Since I had necrosis on the right with some tissue removal from the infected TE, my PS said when it's exchange time, he'll remove some skin on the left (good side) to balance out with the right and use the same size implants.

    Still being cautiously optimistic....

    DLL66 - yeah on the pre-op tomorrow!

Sending goodnight hugs to all and hoping our post op girls are well!

Hello, I've been lurking on your site for a few weeks now and decided maybe I should post.  I had a MX with immediate reconstruction on 11/14/11.  Everything seemed fine until about 3 weeks later when an infection reared it's ugly head.  I was so optimistic that I could fight the infection even though my PS said it was not likely that we would be able to save the reconstruction attempt.  I refused to give up and was completely filled when my breast just decided to open up on it's own 12/31/11.  My PS had to remove it right then and there in the office with just a local.  It was a horrible experience.

My question is:  Does anyone else have nightmares about the TE failure?  I have terrble dreams that my other breast splits open or maybe just nightmares about the removal surgery.  Does it get better?

I'm normally a very positive person, but the scarring  where my breast used to be just looks so terrible.  How will my PS ever be able to fix it?  I see that many of you ladies are getting through it and I know I have to be patient, but this is pretty scrary for me.

Does anyone else just feel scared that life will never get normal again?

1curlyfry - Welcome to the group. You've come to the right place. You are nit alone in your nightmares. I have them every night. Mine started right after my TE was replaced 3 months ago. My dreams all focus around water, not the TE itself. Water is very scary for me. There are usually huge tidal waves trying to get me or I'm in the middle of a huge body of water with no chance of being saved. These dreams are every night. I know the meaning behind them but it doesn't help them go away.

I can't believe you had your TE removed with just a local! Someone else here had that done too! Big hugs to you for doing that.

It will get better, we just need patience. I wish you could go to a store and buy patience or the dr could just write a scrip for it! I'm in another low point myself but the ladies here are all a great help

    in getting through!

I see you're in Folsom! I'm just down the road from you in downtown Sac!

Olgah, I hope you are home resting and everything went well!

Tatina - the weather was beautiful today! Rain is coming next week!

I had another Charlie horse in my leg last night. Nice that it woke me up. I don't know why. Second time in a month that has happened. I'm drinking lots of water and I'm sure my potassium levels are good.

I'm feeling no side effects whatsoever from the ooph. Is it too soon? Maybe I lucked out?

I picked up some castor oil today! I forgot to put some on my chest tonight though. Dangit, I'm already in bed!

1Curylfry, sorry that happened to you, but the ladies here are going to be a great support team.

I had a TE removed with just a local & an implant removed with just a local, so I know all too well what you have experienced. I didn't have any infection, just skin integrity issues.

It always helps me to have a timeline of what is up next.

Hi Curlyfry.  I went through nothing like what you did, but I am a worrier by nature so sleep has been very difficult for me these last 9 months.  This week my MO finally told me I need to take ambien and force myself to get into a better sleep cycle.  These last 2 nights I have not had a single dream.

mrochon-are you on tamoxifen yet?  My MO said that she has a few women complaining about leg cramps and she thinks it is the tamoxifen.  I have been having bad cramps for about 4 weeks.  I hate when they wake you up in the middle of the night!  She said my potassiu level was border line last time (Nov) so she wanted me either to start taking a supplement or really up my intake.  FYI and possible TMI but if you have had loose stools lately she said that is a real potassium drainer.

Chick, my Onco had me double my vitamin D as well. I was mildly anemic and had to start on iron and it has been fine.

Done with my fills, now in the 3 month waiting/settling period. Surgery in May. When it actually gets scheduled I will let you know the date. I'm filled to 600cc's on each side! She said the final outcome will be a small C cup, which is fine with me. I'm still jogging and going to spin classes so it hasn't hindered me too much.

    Happy Friday everyone!!
