Cher, I'm sorry that you are dealing with such issues.  The last thing that you need right now is problems with beasties, what a drag.  I don't know if you would be interested, but there are a couple of organizations that arrange for free house cleaning when undergoing cancer treatment.  I found out about them after I was done with chemo Undecided. I'm sure that you would qualify.

dutchgirl was thinking that there must be something for Cher, and you come up with it. Cher, I so much hope one of these organizations can help!

Ossa and bearcub, lint roller is on my London Drugs list for today. Also a walk, yoga and to finish blog post #4!

Cher, I recall seeing there are reommendations against complete shaving due to possible nicks and thus infection.

Cher I hope you look into those organizations...that is wonderful they have that available in your area.

Marian I hope the kids made it back safe, it poured all day Sunday. We have the strangest weather so far this year, supposed to be -17 on Wednesday night, and snow tonight.

We will definitely plan some get together for the British Columbia girls when this is done. I think most of the girls are in the lower mainland, Tazzy is in around Kelowna I think.

I have family down in the lower mainland so no problem staying somewhere....

I just finished 16 km on the bike, I am off to the hospital for bloodwork, last chemo tomorrow!!....Happy Dance here I come!!

OK I have a question for all you BC ladies.

I have to renew my driving licence before I leave for the UK on 21st.   Not a big deal normally, but I am still waiting for my hair to grow and still go out with head coverings on.  I am thinking they will make me have the picture taken without head coverings and my hair looking like a demented patchwork quilt the same colour as Einsteins hair Undecided

    hugs to all xxx

No problem Tazzy. This happened to me when I was in the middle of chemo Feb 2010. (1). You can wear a head covering if the hair loss is due to medical treatment or reason and (2) You can get a replacement license with a new picture at no cost after your hair grows back in. -- Kathy

Tazzy have a fantastic holiday, good question about the DL, I never thought too much about it. Thank you Kathy for the answer....mine gets renewed in August about 9 months post chemo...I better have some hair by then.....

I had my last chemo today, I rang the bell. I cannot believe I have completed surgery and chemo, on to rads and herceptin, Tamoxifen. See the Onco via video link on the 21st.

Cher, enjoy your vacation, you sure have earned some fun!

I sure hope you all are enjoying your week...

Okay I got that, Moisturize, Moisturize and then Moisturize some more!! I also heard wear a black shirt as they draw all over you with black marker.

I just want to let you all know if I hadn't stumbled across this site, my life would have been so much more miserable these last few months. Everyday I would read something I needed to hear.

What was that you said Ossa, MOISTURIZE.......yup for sure, fantastic advice from some very wise ladies!....

Thanks Gumshoe, How is work going? I hope you have been feeling good.

I am going to have one smooth Boobie!....I have 2 bottles of Glaxol from Costco. Should I buy more. I will see what the RO suggests.

Ossa how much do I put on?

I never thought my first tattoo would be for my rads!

I have been looking at some nice BC tattoos for survivors, I might do it a year out...on my leg, or foot or shoulder....don't know yet...

Kathy: thanks.  You are correct, they would've allowed me to keep my head covering on due to 'medical' reasons, same as they allow muslims to keep theirs on for 'religious' reasons.   But I got brave whipped off my hat and thought 'sod it... in 6 months I wont be wearing these (least I hope not) so have my new picture with a slight covering of hair'.

Oh and I think Ossa mentioned moisturize and moisturize even more Wink

bearcub: yay for finishing chemo - doing the happy dance for you.

I am done, finished and do not have to go out anymore to be nuked.   I was so happy yesterday, and still am today.  Its a great feeling.

    Hugs to you all xxx

Congrats Tazzy -- two graduations on this forum this week Smile

Bearcub - I am doing okay, although I could do without the ongoing pain! I have Glaxol (I bought the tub) for my skin graft areas -- it seems to do the trick better than the others I tried, although Glysomed (sp?) was pretty good too. I put on two layers: the first one seems to help the second one absorb.

Work is still crazy, and will be for a while. I did tell them I wasn't going to be driving into the office unless absolutely necessary so that will help.

Gumshoe it seems so unfair that things went so wrong with your lumpectomy. You and Cher sure had a tough go of it. It certainly reminds us all you just never know where these surgeries will take us. I hope the pain lessens soon, and work gets easier. Thanks for the glaxol advice.

Tazzy wow rads done, it doesn't seem that long ago you started. You sound like the skin held out. I am doing a Happy Dance for you. You sure deserve this upcoming vacation.

I see the RO on Dec, 2 nd. For my consult.

    Everyone have a fantastic weekend!

Tazzy...yay woohoo,yippy...but remember to moisturize for the next two weeks.. the heat continues.. also use the saline soaks I started using organic Emu oil on as soon as I was done.. Get it at healthfood store.. About $35 for 2 oz, but it last forever.. PS was very intrigued when I told him I was using Emu oil.. Being a red head they thought I would burn bad, but didn't Must be because I was so diligent with moisturizing,

Bearcub I also bought 2 jars from Costco.. They lasted my treatment.. I would slather it on can't do to much.. good luck oh ya and remember to moisturize

I am also thinking about getting a survivor tattoo..Been looking but have not found the right one.. Will either be on the inside of my wrist or back of my shoulder

I have been and will be moisturising for the next few weeks.  I have been so diligent in moisturising and using soaks and aloe but still burnt.   And I am olive skinned.  Guess like getting bc, its a crapshoot.

So happy for your advice Ossa - thank you.   I will look for emu oil tomorrow.  Spent the day indoors today and it was bliss.  Will venture out tomorrow.
