Hi...  I've been lurking for a while and will post an intro soon (as soon as I actually finish my taxes for 2011!) but I just had to share this with someone who would *really* get it.

If you liked that one, check out these other two (I don't much like the second one, being Stage 3...)

Got my taxes finished!  Nothing like a hard deadline (can’t netfile after Nov 30) to actually get them done.  I was diagnosed in mid-March, so really, really didn’t care about taxes at the time.

I hope I didn’t upset anyone with those links.  I thought the first one was a really accurate portrayal of chemo.  I don’t think they were supposed to be funny, just … real.

I don’t have anything else to say today… I suppose I should go do some laundry.  I’m looking forward to getting to know you – you seem like a great bunch of women.

    Sue

Hi Sue, welcome and thanks for posting the links; I wasn't at all offended, thought the comics were sincere and expressed genuine feelings, nothing wrong with that. (Love the title :)

Hi lovely ladies.  Arrived home safe and sound from England yesterday.  Now to go back and catch up on you all and what I have missed since being away.   Off to Los Cabos on Sunday for a weeks all inclusive just me and DH - cant wait.

Scottie:  Was sitting with a Glaswegian woman on the plane - she was off to visit family there.  What a blast we had.  Made the 9 hour journey fly by (no pun intended).

Hoping you are all faring well and not suffering.

    Hugs to all xx

I went to the Look Good program today at the Vancouver centre cancer agency - it was a lot of fun - so if any of you ladies have not had a chance to take in the program - do - it is very much worthwhile. Got lots of great tips on makeup - plus they give a big box of   of products which they claim is over $300 worth which I actually believe! Also a lovely lady talked about wigs and head covers and we got a free hat!

Marian - sure hope you are starting to feel better and that your blood tests tomorrow are ok. Too bad that you haven't been feeling as good as usual - hang in there - are the meds helping?

g'morning sweet ladies!! Welcome home Tazzy..i'm jumping in your pocket & going with you to LC hehe. have a wonderful time with DH!

Gals.. I cannot find the Massage Therapist that the PS was talking about. Real problem with searching for physio/massage specializing in post mastectomies. Can anyone offer help? do you know of any in lower mainland or fraser valley? I'm also going to call the PS office & enquire further.

    thanks

Cher - I've been going to an RMT who has taken courses on breast massage for cancer patients.  That was my main priority for seeing her but she's so darn good that we're now working on my entire body.... slowly chipping away at the tension that has built up in my back/shoulders over the years.  I'd highly recommend her but she's in Vancouver so perhaps too far for you.  I see her next weekend and will ask her if she knows of anyone closer to you.

I found my RMT through Susan Chapelle, who runs breast massage courses in Squamish.  Click here to read up on her and perhaps you can contact their office inquiring if they could recommend any RMTs that are located near you.

Best of luck in your search.

Sneaky THank you so very much!! yes please ask her for me? I was told was one in New West/Bby.  If all else fails, I'll call the RMT's & ask around or I think there is a main place. chemo brain.. whatever that word it.

so I am going to yell... hold your ears LAST CHEMO DONE!!! PICC LINE OUT!! (after 5mths :) broke down bawling as nurse was pulling out the PICC line. with last chemo & that.. was very emotional for me...nurses said it was very natural & i've gotten teary a few times since, but already am feeling effects, earlier than last time. But I must say I've been very very fortunate that I've not become sicker! :) hoping this next week won't be a whopper, too much to do lol.

hugs to all!! (ps... 6mth anniversary from surgery tomorrow!!)

Sorry but I really need to RANT! I'm so angry!! I'm 6months since surgery & MO said my GP is the one to send me for my 6mth test, whatever that is supposed to be! I told him my GP doesnt' seem to really know much, Onc said he was going to put stuff in letter to him. Sooo, just came from GP & he said 'huh?' usually the Onc sends patient for retest. I said, well, after reading all what's written from all the ladies on here, there's many tests that can be done & MO said your to send me he was just kinda staring at his laptop that has letter from MO.  (I have such a large area of scar tissue (under breast 2", each underarm across & up to collar bone) with the bumps n lumpies), GP said, 'I don't see how they can do a ultra sound with so much scar tissue.' I said, what about a PET or MRI or CT,(duh?) GP, well, I dont' think they'd do a MRI or PET .. I should've said.. who's THEY? like what? hello? why do I have to fight to get any decent medical service here! I had to 'fight' after my surgery to get any action done with my mess / infection. he's screwed up 4 times now! so I am so done! after 12yrs, I'm angry that I"m in the positition of having to get a new GP with such a shortage & NOW I'm the one who has to call the MO's tomorrow to get something done. WTH??? why wouldn't he call him? tell me it's not me, or am I just nuts!!??  I'm so sick today .. faster & harder than before! I never vomit, but now its happening. so am double angry at Dr! thanks for any ... oh I think I"ll just do some screaming into a pillow & then some deep breathing

Cher - Sorry you're getting the run around with the docs.  Just wanted to let you know that I hadn't forgotten about the RMT search.  My RMT had already left on holidays before you got back to me.  Not that I was waiting for your reply... I just totally forgot about it until you replied.  Anyways, sending an email now to Sue Chapelle to see if she's had any recent graduates from her breast massage course who live closer to you.

Breathe deep and let go of the bad.

Cher I am on the mend, the leg felt a bit better yesterday.

I hope things start to go your way, wow, all that doc stuff is so frustrating. GGGrrr.

I got a call yesterday, to reschedule my muga scan, they let me know at last doc appt. that my last scan didn't give any data to the computer. So now I have to redo, just go ahead and throw more tin, and what ever else they put into my body to read the scan...my body pays for the screw ups. Just another day for them.

Going to finish all my last minute stuff for Christmas today!..
