So exercise really does help with the side effects. Now I just need to talk myself in doing it! Thing is, during chemo and rads I was so persistent in doing everything I was told. And I am very good about MLD for LE. I know I can incorporate new routines I just need to do it. Maybe I could even get off Paxil if I exercised. Gosh - I need to get moving.

Biotin - did the oncologist OK using it? I am afraid of anything until my MO says OK :). Maybe I will gather the info and take to my next appointment. Appt not until end of March - I should still have hair :)

Wow - lots of brands with biotin. What brands have been used successfully? Don't know where to start.

Diane, my MO has ok'd Biotin and all of my supplements. Like you I wouldn't take them without her approval.

I get Sundown Naturals. It's sold at my local grocery store. I mainly buy it because I get two bottles for the price of one and it is vegetarian. Btw, that 2 for 1 deal is true of most Sundown vitamins.

Yorkiemom - what strength do you use?

Glad your MO approved - that means mine should too! So many things out there and if she hasn't heard of them then they are off my list.

Diane, the strength I take is 7500 mcg. It does take awhile for the vitamin to build up in your system, so you need to give it a couple of months before seeing results. Best wishes!

I'm putting that on my list for my next visit. My hair isn't so thin it is obvious yet but I can tell a difference. Nice to know it wasn't my imagination.

What strenght of Biotin is working for the thinning hair. I take 10,000 mcq 2x day Notice some new hair growth around my face but can't tell if it is working on the overall thinning.

Seabeal, I haven't had significant thinning hair so can't answer that. The amount I take works for my nails. I mentioned earlier that I do a lot to strengthen my hair besides the Biotin.

Yea......with severe fatigue/depression.....it was really hard to get off the couch.  Some days I didnt.  and some times you need those days.  When I did go.....even if I didnt stay at the gym long, or went for a shorter walk, it still helped my mood, pain.......and just made me overall feel better about life.  I will always exercise, no matter what

Shayne, you are so right!!! If I don't exercise, I generally just don't feel good!!! I just joined Weight Watchers as well, and just after the first day, I feel better! I am trying to eliminate the bad carbs that I have been addicted to and stick to good carbs(fruits and veggies). I am wondering if diet contributes to the bad side effects of aromasin. When I eat better and exercise more, I feel great. The aromasin, being steroidal in effect, causes my hunger, I think!!!!! So along with a better diet and a stronger will power, I am hoping to lose weight again!!! I have been on it for 7 years and my onc wants me on it for 3 more years, if I have no serious issues with it. Hope you all have a great day!!!!

I was on WW when i was dx......and had lost 12lbs with only another 10 to go.....sadly, have gained it all back.  Now Im doing my green healthy whole food diet (my own) and using MyFitnessPal.com to log in my food/exercise.   The online for WW was great, i really loved it.  I didnt eat any of their food.....just did my own, but it really works.  Good luck meeting your goals!

wanted to add, its been a week since ive been off the Aromasin....and the depression has definitely lifted.  I feel like my stamina was better at the gym, i could actually keep up with the 70yr old lady in front of me!  And ive been getting 5-6hrs of sleep, which is huge, esp with the full moon.  Joint pain and heart palpitations still there.  But I am so looking forward to feeling better in the next few weeks......

Too funny - Paxil rx ran out so today I am without Paxil (just need to go get the new rx). But - - today I have already cried once, laughed uncontrollably, absolutely cannot focus on work and have a headache!

My nurse sister swears I shouldn't see the effects so quickly but I swear I do! I saw a difference on day 2 when I started Paxil so it stands to reason I will see the difference without. Maybe it's all in my head but my tear ducts, attention span and head didn't get the message Laughing.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it! And getting my prescription this afternoon!

Ohio I take Paxil and one of the times I was going to wait a few days cuz then I'd get all my pills-so I redered it and just didn't pick it p right away, after 2 day I know I felt dippy and just not good--so I picked it up right away took it and the next day I felt fine in thst area. So I saw the difference immediately. Never did that again. LOL

Camillegal - I think my nurse sister now agrees Paxil makes and immediate difference for some people - maybe it's the 'CR' after the name that makes the difference, I don't know. I just know when I have my Paxil - it's all good.

My doc prescribed Lexapro for me, I have not taken it. I am nervous about something systemic I have to take all the time...when I feel fine much of the ime, especially at work.i have taken Ativan sporadically. My sis takes klonizapam (sp?) those are both more a s needed but for anxiety. Any tips or experiences to share?

Almost done with 3 mos of Aromasin, after changing after 3 mos of Arimedex. Achiness is increasing, especially at night. Wakes me up many night.s MO suggests advil or Aleve before bed and Ambien if I relly feel the need for a solid night of sleep. Again- tips?

Lisa - I take generic benadryl for a good nights sleep. No side effects, no drugged hang over in the morning. I only use as needed.

I started Paxil after seven months on Aromasin. It helped very quickly. I have Ativan as a backup but take it rarely. I don't have concerns taking the meds - I like me better on the meds than I like life off the meds.

    Good luck to you.

Two of my dogs take generic Benadryl for itchiness.  Generic name is Dyphenhydramine and it is about $5 for 600 pills at Costco.  Also completely harmless -at least for dogs!
