Thanks for the info Shayne, I figured they could just adjust the massage, you just have to ask - and there are massage therapists that are trained in lymph massage, that would be great.  My Massage therapist does Thai massage with me and is really careful about pressure point stuff in my LE quadrant.

I have done some lymphatic massage......and its quite helpful for those patients - tho Im not trained in it - its not that hard - just common sense.  Just remember whatever kind of massage you get - to flush your body with lots of water or you can have muscle aches the next day - you need to flush the toxins that are released thru massage.
I could use a massage right now

I have a great massage therapist who does my LE care when needed. She attended the LE courses but never certified. I haven't been to an LE therapist in over a year. It's easier to get appts with the massage therapist and no referral needed. Last summer I went 3 times a week for 2 weeks - she adjusted her rates for those frequent visits and it was only $5 more than my co-pay. Sweet. She runs all sorts of specials but I haven't been back since the weather cooled. I'm sure that will change again in the summer heat.

I read this, or most of it today, interesting article comparing exemestane and anastrozole (sp?)  They are pretty equal in preventing recurrence - however, in exemestane users osteoporosis is significantly less than it is for anastrozole users.

It's scary, isn't it?  You have to go off of it to know that it's really from the pills.  Every ache, every pain, scares me.

Well - i went to the doctor about my severe side effects last thursday.  ORdered a ton of blood work, all came back normal.  Still waiting for results of the EKG.  My doctor was very concerned about the heart palpitations.  THeyve subsided some, but not all together.  Still have the severe joint/muscle pain......but that has subsided a little, but its still there.
Had appt with naturopath, but she was running so far behind, i had to reschedule because i had my daughter home alone because of the holiday today.  So Ill see her next week.  Will post about what happens with the EKG......a little nervous about it.

Glad it all came back normal.  I don't remember if I mentioned this but when I went through menopause my main problem was palpitations.  I went to cardiologists and drs and they couldn't find a thing wrong.  Had a Holter monitor too.  Well, they went away.  Until now.  At first they scared me, a lot.  but then I remembered that I had the same thing when i went through menopause.  this is menopause cubed!  So I shouldn't be surprised by the palpitations.

The body adjusts, eventually.  But its good to get everything checked out.  I had the holter monitor again plus a stress test, and both were fine.

Shayne, have you gone through menopause yet?  I was really really nervous about those palpitation.  I couldn't sleep at night because my heart was pounding.  You don't realize that you don't normally feel your heart beating.  But when I went through menopause i felt every beat.  I was sure something was terribly wrong.  One of the drs I went to was my gyne.  He said I couldn't be in menopause since I still got periods.  well, he had this old nurse and when I told her what was going on, she shook her head knowingly and said "that's the way it begins."  She was right!  No one ever talked about it, not even the drs.  When I asked my mother if she'd had any symptoms she said "no".  then she asked what I was having and when I told her, she said "Oh yes, of course.  Just walk!"  and she was right.

The cardiologist told me that if the palpitations get worse when you excercize, that's a bad sign.  But if they go away when you excercize (as mine did) it's an excellent sign.  Next time, when you feel them, get up and take a walk. Or clean the house.  If they disappear, it means it's nothing.

    I have gone thru menopause.

They usually happen when Im calm - when I first wake up, when i go to bed.  Not when I exercise.....tho it scares me to exercise bc im afraid theyll get worse.  I went hiking the other day, and was really short of breath....but could be bc ive slowed down so much with the fatigue and joint/muscle pain.  They definitely arent as bad as they were......but still there.  Im just a little relieved with what you said tho - i didnt have these when i went thru menopause.  Never had any issues with my heart.  And if you check out the SEs for Aromasin - 2 of them are heart failure and stroke.  Then I had my BS send me the EKG she had me do before surgery, and it said abnormal.  She had told me over the phone it was normal for my age.  My doc didnt agree and was amazed they didnt have me do another one.

I should have results tomorrow...ill post them when i find out

Just piping in on the heart palpitations. When I began menopause I had them when I first woke up in the morning and at the strangest times, always pretty much at rest. It was very strange and felt like I was having a panic attack without the panic. So, I am hoping that is what this is since AI's are a drug that puts you into serious menopause because it is making sure no estrogen is present at all. Hugs and hoping you get answers!

Can someone remind me what kind of something they take for thinning hair? I am pretty sure it was this group where someone took 300mg of (something)daily to help hair grow.

I did write it down. I just can't remember where I wrote it.

Isn't life without estrogen a barrel of laughs - a new adventure every day.

Hooray!  No pain today!  I wonder if it's the rest or the slab of salmon I have every day for lunch?

I guess I have to keep track, I'm a walking experiment.  But at least I'm walking! ;-)

April, I haven't experienced that, but some seem to have. I started taking Biotin years ago, long before bc dx, to strengthen my nails. It's also good for hair.

April I'm sorry I laughed u reminded me of Garfield hanging on the window yelling that. Some people get it don't freak out yet. It might not happen. If it does use what Yorkiemom said. It'll be OK/

Camillegal, it is ok if I reminded you of that chubby little cat. Besides, he and I share a love of lasagna! Wink Hoping I am not a fat cat with lots of bald spots...lol

Yorkiemom, I will be buying that Biotin for sure. Is it sold over the counter or by prescription? I was thrilled that I did not have to have chemo and lose my hair so I kind of freaked out when I read that..lol

I don't know which AI I will be prescribed, but I am guessing they all have the potential to thin hair? Not thrilled, but small price to pay to remain cancer free if it works as well as studies say it does. It must or all of the thousands of women suffering through the SE's would not keep taking it! I will hold onto that thought Smile

April, you can get it OTC and it is very cheap. I buy the Sundown brand and get 2 for the price of one, which is about $5.00. Can't beat that price!

I'm taking Exemestane (generic for Aromasin). I had a few SEs at the beginning but they've leveled off and I feel good now. I don't know if this is an SE, because it is the exact opposite of what others report, but I sleep a lot more now. A 10 hour night is common for me, and with anything less than 9 I feel exhausted! Good thing I am retired or I would never feel I got enough sleep.

April I never meant u were chubby but u freaked out so naturally and I love my Katie-Kat so I have a fondness for cats.

U know u might not have any SE of thinning hair--It seems like after chemo than u take these meds and then hair comes in differently--So u might be lucky, but be prepared cuz I really don't now much. LOL

May I ask how much you pay for generic Aromasin?  I opened an account at costco because I heard that they have great prices.  I don't know why but my insurance didn't go through and they wanted $123. for a bottle of it.  Generic.

Between my husband and I we've been getting so many prescriptions from Walgreens that I really don't know how much each has been costing us but this seemed a bit much!
