Spent a week near Charleston and had 92,000 steps for the week. I just can't stay off the beach at sunrise and sunset when staying there, and then spend all day touring around. It was a beautiful week. Now back to water aerobics 6 hours a week. All the food we ate in Charleston detoured my weight loss slightly, but back on target now. I have an appointment Monday with a microvascular surgeon to look at the LE. He is doing microsurgery to connect the lymph drainage into the surrounding capillaries. I should find out if this would be beneficial for me.

I'm going to be a grandma in June and working on being able to care for baby one night a week. 💙💜💚💛. Talk about motivation!

I need to slowly increase my arm reps with my soup cans to build strength without causing a flare.

What else do you all do to increase strength?

tsobin - I don't know your age, but if you're over 65, look into the Silver Sneaker's classes. They are a benefit on my medigap policy, and for many of my friends on medicare advantage plans. The exercise starts slow with a chair, weights, resistance bands, and a ball. It's definitely gotten me back into gear again.

Ok all. It's the countdown for my 5:30 class. I've got sneakers looking real good. Washed them. Ha, will see if I can get them stinky sweaty again as i'm going to wear out the elliptical today.

Good news, got some tests back! I don't have Rheumatoid Arthritis. Just plain ole osteo that kills my feet, knees and hands. Need to get tested for fibro also.Any good remedies out there? I'll even try tying onions around my neck if it works! Exercise really doesn't help me much. In fact it makes my feet worse. Oh well onward march!

    Hey Hugs :>) U r too funny.
I have a knee issue that JUST flared again after having a cortisone shot 6 mos ago so I could complete P.T. on the broken ankles (UGH) If nothing works for this flare, I may have to give in again, though I really don't want to.

I will tell you what DID work for a few yrs prior ...KINESIO TAPE! It helped an awful lot though I was trained to put it on by my PT. Not sure if youtube is the place.

Good luck to you! I really admire the fact this has not slowed you down!!!!!

purple. I have no swelling in knees just osteoarthritis joint pain. Would kinesiology help that?

The best thing I have found for pain relief is a really strong bio available curcummin but it's spendy. It's a great anti inflammatory. I must get back on it. However my joints are never going to repair themselves. In fact I'll be in line for hips and new knees.

I have received my cold lazer Machine from auzzie the other day and am waiting for some time to open the box. My body does better with laser. I heard you can use it for le to!

Finally mastered running at 6 mph today for a full minute and not running out of breath. My program is walking at 4mph for two minutes then one min at 6mph. For 20-30 minute duration. I must enjoy my exercise because maybe one day I might not get to!

Hugz - I am so impressed. Once I got back from vacation, I started back into the Silver Sneakers class twice a week. I will start back with Yoga hopefully this week. And I'm walking at least one mile on the treadmill most days. I know, puny compared to your 4.3 miles. Maybe I'll get revved back up next week when my body figures out what time zone I'm in.

minustwo. Your doing great on the dreadmill! That silver sneakers sounds good to. I gotta to tell you the 4 miles may have been too much because I'm exhausted. About one mile was a 4.0 mph jog and I think I may have overdid it going up hill in the woods. I may back off and walk next time.

Oh my hugz - maybe not so far today? I have long legs and I just walk fast - no jogging yet. I usually set the treadmill at 3.4 or 3.5, but I don't do inclines either. Boy writing that sure makes me sound wimpy.

Minus, you are not wimpy! You are getting out there and doing it! Meanwhile,, packing for moving is keeping me busy and I'm not exercising except for walking the dog. Although she does give me a workout. She loves to be outside. Can't wait to get into the new place where she has a yard to run around.

Returned from my visit to the Cancer Treatment Center of America. I talked to the Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon about the Lymphatic Venous Anastomosis surgery they are doing there. As my swelling is primarily upper arm, he did not recommend the surgery for me at this time. He noted that right now he is mostly doing surgery from the elbow down to the hand as the lymph system runs more superficial there. As I can control the swelling with daily compression, he recommended just continuing with this approach for now. So back to the swimming pool for 6 hours a week, plus they recommended adding in walking on the off days. Also added phyto-curcumin, Vitamin D3, and B-complex to my regular routine. They did several gene studies and found a CHEK2 deletion and a mutation, an ATM mutation, and 1 other change of unknown significance, which accounts for how I have collected cancers like trading cards over my life. It's good to at least have a reason why, as well as to let my kids know to be tested as well as all are inheritable risk factors for them. They are very thorough there and take the time to explain things well and give options. I also had a Breast Cancer Index run that showed I have no long-term benefit from hormone suppressants, so the Arimidex and Tamoxifen are out of the medicine cabinet for good Nerdy

    Hey ladies-

I just got a flexitouch (both arms and trunk) and am wondering, how do you all store it? Do you hang it up? or put it in a box? or just leave it out? I just don't want to damage it.

minus. There are no wimps on the boards. We all deserve 5 stars for what we have or are going thru. Just keep plugging away because it's sure healthier than sitting.

Glennie. Those dogs just look at us. Then we HAVE to walk them due to guilt complex they give us. Good thing otherwise you might be overdoing it on your moving project. This way you take a break and get outdoors.

Laurel it's nice to hear from you. That hospital sounds comprehensive. Interesting about the lymph surgery.

Been walking lots. 50 minutes today and then 30 later and finally ten after dinner to move my sugar levels a bit. Tomarrow I'm in the mountains and will hike my butt off only soI can kick le into a small manageable corner.

    HI!

JWoo - I just store mine in a large round basket. It does fold a little but it doesn't cause any damage to it..

Good Luck! I love my flexitouch and I used it for several months and now I hardly use it. I am keeping the swelling under control. So I don't need to use it daily, only as needed.
