Vargadoll, just jumping in (hope that's ok) to mention something that's helped me avoid sinus infections. I used to get at least one bad sinus infection every summer & winter like clockwork. But since getting regular MLD massages, I haven't had a single sinus infection or even a cold. My masseuse swears that keeping the lymph moving well is critical to staying well & I'm becoming a believer! Don't know if it will help you but it won't hurt & you'll feel good afterwards. Hugs & hope you feel better soon!

Vara. wow no expert on sinus infection but I do know that if you don't kill with antibiotics they reoccur many times over so you are doing right being on them but this does look complicated cause you can't kick it. Maybe new type antibiotic. At this point you should see a ENT that specializes in this. Draining nodes in face may be good to.

My girl swears by the netipot which is a teapot with saline in it. She uses it up her Nasel for colds and I can confirm weird mucus pours out. I've witnessed ,It's gross but she loves it. She says because you need to relax it actually calms her doing it.

My DH workmates wife has polyups and precancerous in nose and the only thing that relieves her sinus is Hawaii salt water straight from ocean. Sadly she can't live there.

The latest craze here is salt rooms you breath in at a special designed spa.I so want to try it. My MLD girl says it has cleared her sinus up better than ever.

So all this talk about these salt techniques makes me think you may want to try it out. Let's first find a sugardaddy to buy us a house in Hawaii!

Interesting that just tonight I had a neighbor tell me her doc is in favor of the Neil Med Sinus Rinse where you actually "push" the saline into your nose/sinuses. He told her the neti-pot didn't work nearly as well. I'm sold on it.

I use a squeeze bottle it works for me better than a Nettie pot. The Nettie pot water would end up in my throat some how! If I get one more sinus infection I'm being referred to ENT. I have one that I saw in 2010 when I had my thyroid surgery. I am doing better with the antibiotics this go round. I' thinking it's because I was exercising and eating well prior to the infection. Interesting thought about the nodes in my face. It could help. Thanks girls for all the support. Let's get that fluid moving today!

Just jumping in too. I think the idea of MLD around your face /neck to ward off sinus problems is a good idea. Can she teach you to self drain/massage these areas?

2fun- I see my PT for a garment fitting next week. I will ask while I'm there. I think it' an excellent idea! It can't hurt for sure! I am feeling better but the antibiotics are messing with my stomach a little. Thank goodness it's only 7 days this time not 10!

Vara. My friend suggested taking probiotics AFTER done antibiotics otherwise they just go to waste getting killed by the antibiotics. I use to take them two hours before or two hours after ABX meds. I think she has a good point. Yup poor stomach/bowel will suffer. I also heard alcohol kills your antibiotics if you drink while on them. I have no idea if that’s true.

Ok I sweated out at the gym and feel pretty good. I felt I had a cold coming on last night but took high zinc and I think it worked. Oye the things we have to do! Body transplant please!

I have never been much for alcohol. I love a good mix drink occasionally or a little Baileys in my coffee but I haven't even done than since my diagnosis. I'v never liked wine and all my friends do so I'm always there with my water on a fancy glass. My stomach feels so much better today. Let' hope the corn beef and cabbage then I'm cooking for st. Patty's Day agrees with it!

hi girls, was dragging butt last night at gym. I hated that treadmill, elliptical was worse and rower was torture. Did it anyway but at half speed. did Weight to.

I bannna peeled on my wood floor at 2 am in morn. Glad I didn't get concussion as no one was home and of course I landed on le side. Shoulder Jared forward and was sore for couple days but no bruises on my wrist and elbow where it impacted besides shoulder. Usually I can fall on other side otherwise, but it was pitch black and I was on floor before I knew it. Must stay in bed and not cruise the house during wee hours! Lesson learned.

Hugz - sorry to hear about your fall. Fortunate that you had no bruising.

I went to Silver Sneakers Tuesday then worked in the yard for a couple of hours. Got up 2 hours early this morning to do some more yard work before Sliver Sneakers. And oh boy was today's class a serious work out.

Then came home & worked in the yard again until 6;30pm. I sprayed RoundUp last week in the beds - all were empty & I need to get them ready to plop in the ten (10) plumarias - most of which are over 8 ft tall. Then I had the guy who mows my lawn turn over all the soil in the beds (except by the roses & the elephant ears). So it's up to me to go scooting on my butt around the entire yard and pull the weeds out of the turned soil. I got half way around this afternoon. Even so, it's a two aspirin night.

minus thx. I do see a bruise on elbow tonight but everything else and so happy to report shoulder is good. Will test it out at gym tomorrow.

Wow your really churning up the yard. Sounds like some improvements. The plumeria is one of my fav but it would freeze to death here. I make sure when on holidays I find one to sniff all day to get my fill.

I sure hope your babying that le when you get indoors cause all that work sounds awfully hard on it plus sneakers! Be careful gardening, it can catch us of guard cause it’s so relaxing and distracting.

I filled 5 garbage cans full of winter cleanup last week. Getting ready to plant 120 bulbs of crocosmia, the hummers love them. Fun to watch!

Oh my goodness - 120 bulbs!!! You're right, it's easy for me to loose track of time gardening too. I am wearing my compression bra and doing MLD in the evenings. Hope that's enough.Gardening in sleeves in Texas is not happening.

I found an interesting article about plumarias recently - in after Easter, out before Thanksgiving. I just yank them out of the ground and toss them in the garage for the winter - no dirt, no water. Last year I didn't get them planted until May and they already had leaves & a bloom or two sitting on the shop floor. I swore I would give them all away this year, but here I am getting ready to stick them in the dirt again. They just grow like weeds, and yes they smell so lovely. Most are now small 'trees' and way to big to manage by myself.

minus. Yes 120. Because rodents of types, must be eating them previously and usually only half come up. Wow those plumerias sound easy. I'm suppose to dig up my dahlias and store them till early May but I'm too lazy and leave them in.Usually I lose a few but I still have lots. You be so careful if your not in compression. I worry about you! Drink tons of water at least and elevate when you get in.

Are in you back in habit of silver sneakers.

Ok energy to burn at gym. Killed le thete

Hugz- I'm so angry about it! Friday night is my night that I don't sleep in all my night garments. About 4 weeks ago I decided I need one night. Just one night to feel like I did before all the BC crap started. The rest of the week I am devoted to LE management. Those few hours are MINE on Friday night. With all that said....I wonder of I had my night glove (looks like an ove-glove) if this would have happened.

Vara. How disappointing. I hear you. Yes I agree sometimes we need a breather to just feel a bit free. I try to not wear sleeves after 10-12 hours a day. I need to feel normal and I don’t want to loose the touch sensations in my hand if I’m alwsys in a glove. It works for me but maybe not down the road as le changes it’s mind often

My pet peeve is I’m always so careful but I seem to be always banging my le hand instead of the other one. Especially the middle finger that I had so much trouble with in August. It’s basically got new baby skin on it and I’m always scraping pinching poking it into something. That’s right it’s never my non le hand! Grrrr. Oops wrong thread!

    Walked half hour today.

Hugz - I hear ya! My LE is my dominant hand! Yesterday was a lazy day I only got 16,542 steps. After church there was an Easter egg hunt and luncheon. You know I had to stay and watch 3 of the 6 grandchildren! Today it's only 9:25 and I have over 6,000 steps already! Onwards!

Vargadoll you are amazing. Way to go on the steps.

LE and nerve pain have been kicking my butt for months. I've been off these boards just trying to deal with life. Have been slowly working up my exerise regime and have lost weight. However weight loss hasn't made my fingers smaller so that must be LE.

So glad to have all the ladies on these boards for support.

you are all garden Warriors! I like a beautiful garden, but just too much work for me. We are in zone 4, so I don't even think about gardening until after mothers day!

DS is at college, and he does all the heavy lifting. Gotta get stronger so DH doesn't hurt himself.

My PT says I don't have LE, but my chest tightness still rears up here and there. I am a member of the American Physical therapy association, and the oncology section just had a whole issue on LE. I'll read it during spring break and post the scoop here.

You all keep inspiring me when I just want to give in and not fight! Thanks!

Vara. There is no way I could get 16,000 steps in a day. Bravo!

Scottie. Good for you trying. Life with not one but two autustic children is a major task. Big cyber hug for taking good care of them. I hope your in gloves for those fingers.

2fun. Looking forward to hearing about the le onc report! One doc told a girl here I don't prevent le I give it. Ugh. I'm speechless. But it's true. Hopefully onc are giving us some good news like getting more educated on it.

2fun. No giving up.youve come so far. You can take a couple steps backwards as long as you take some forward. We're here to encourage one another.

My mild le Breast had such deep pain recently that I got a CT to rule out reccurence. Pain is subsided now but I figure it was that I gained ten fast pounds as I ate on cruise and then after was laying around too much mid dec-mid March with three to four colds lasting two weeks each keeping me horizontal.

The last two weeks Breast le has got90 percent better because of exercising. Walking helps me tremendously to control le. Maybe it might be the answer to your chest pain. Maybe you've got an touch of le. Are there times when it gets worse. Can you pin point it to a trigger.

Ladies, is it OK to go bowling with LE?? My bowling arm is my LE arm. DH just said let's go bowling!

Vara. Ugh, um well no one has asked me this. If you have been bowling all along with no adverse effects then proceed with caution but for me a novice,if bowling meant that much I would start with one pound weights out in the yard and simulate the same movement building up to weight of ball or toss with two hands.this could take a few months of diligent effort of training and you need to let go of the weights. Yikes look out people and yard could get holey. Not sure how fingers would like it either. A prestretch would be wise before game.

I have no proof that bowling is bad but your putting sudden stress on your arm and fingers. sending lymph fluid to the rescue. It would be much better to pick a different sport. A bummer for both of you.

When my DH wants to do something le risky I just remind mine that I could be saving him thousands of dollars in treatment and perhaps him learning how to wrap me if I ran into trouble from it. Because it could be time consuming for him, he usually gets the point quickly. Tough decision!

No workout lately. A cold AGAIN!

Hugz - thanks for the response! I did go! I haven' been bowling in 20 years! I normally use a 12 pound ball..I used a 8 and only bowled 2 games. We were kid free last night for the first time in over a year. That was when I had surgery!

Hugz - sorry you're under the weather again. You've had a round.

Went in today for an LE tune-up & review. I've had quite a bit of pain in my hands since December & wanted to make sure it wasn't LE related. Good news, my LE is still confined to my trunk & breast. I have an appointment w/my ortho hand specialist in two weeks, Likely arthritis?

I've been going to Silver Sneakers classes Tue & Thurs and still working in the yard. Also trying to hit the tread mill twice a week. I need to start walking to get ready for water aerobics in May. But I'd sure rather sit in my recliner and catch up on my reading.
