I am glad that you've found a use for them KT.
I've decided that I can't be as fat as I think I am. I can still feel the cold , so I can't be the WALRUS I think I see in the mirror.
My son is back from his course and the house instantly smells of BOY. He had a great time, and even got to spend some time with Willie Apiata. There's an article if anyone is interested. http://www.stuff.co.nz/marlborough-express/70157616/Blenheim-cadet-meets-Willie-Apiata
I was at the Dentist today with an abcesss - seems like everything is kicking into life again post chemo. I still have my braces on, which makes dealing with any tooth pain problematic. Also, I am still waiting for my op date - it was only to be a 4 month wait, which is up on 21/8.

Hi guys, Niki I just read the article, I think Willie Apiata is such an inspiration (not to mention a fine hunk of a man hahaha). It's so neat that your son got to meet him. Is your son going to have a career in the Air Force? I know a lovely young man who is doing an Apprenticeship in the Navy and he's doing very well and has a very interesting job even though he's still an Apprentice. I have two weeks holiday starting next week and I just can't wait. I am going to phone the Breast Clinic at the Manukau Super Clinic because I am a bit worried about that lump on my good boob under where I had that red spot that is now a bruise. It feels just like the lump which was lobular cancer on my bad boob. I'm too scared to tell anyone, my daughter keeps having dreams that I am going to die, how the hell do I tell her I think I've got another lump. She is just coming right and starts her new course next week? So I've decided to not tell anyone once again until I know for sure. Hopefully it is nothing. I am going to my Doctors next Monday as well to get him to sign that Counselling form. Bloody hell this cancer journey sucks doesn't it??? Anyway it's a lovely day today. It was so cold at my house this morning I had to scrape the ice off my windscreen and by the time I got to the end of my drive it had iced over again. Take care everyone, Donna xxx

Donna, Ben is wanting a regular force (Army)career. His Uncle is in the SAS (serving alongside Willie Apiata), along with 3 cousins. I think that he needs to be a bit older to join up, so we've agreed that at least he'll do Year 13 before deciding. He is a Warrant Officer for his unit in Otahuhu, which is the top rank. He joined cadets as a 13 year old and it has been invaluable in terms of leadership opportunities and experiences, not to mention keeping him on the straight and narrow. He could'nt get these opportunities in the secondary school environment. He's been all over the country with Cadets and is now able to staff courses, which he gets paid for. I tried to talk my daughter into joining up, but apparently the beret would wreak her straightened hair so it was a no go. LOL. Get that boob sorted so that you can stop worrying! Once you turn it over to the Breast Clinic then it ceases to be your problem alone.
I am still waiting to hear when my next mastectomy will be (the 4 months runs out on 21/8 - my first cancervesary). I still have a lazy porta cath in, which I really want removed asap. I guess that they can/will remove me from the waiting list as I am not urgent and reinstate me as well as the 4 month waiting time ........ lots sicker than me though, so I do understand.
Hope everyone is well

Hi all,
Twofer - sending good thoughts for your scan. Interesting you should mention liver pain; I have it too, but it's all Letrozole! Same with rib, hip, leg, and foot pain - Letrozole and/or arthritis. Hoping yours is the same.
Glad your red mark is gone, Fizz.
love your kitty pic, KT. Just beautiful! And it's cold here...-2 this morning and actual ice not just frost on the windscreen this morning.
I'm way behind with reading, so apologies for not acknowledging everyone. No slight intended; just a bit overwhelmed with work at the moment.
Hugs to all,
Terre

Donna, it will be good to get that spot/lump looked at. Better to be safe than sorry & put your mind at ease at least. Stupid bc, it always seems to be lurking- even if it is only in our minds... I hope your dd enjoys her course & keeps improving.
Nikki, you must be proud of your son Nothing like teenage boy smell, esp if there's a few of them ;/ Hope you get your appt soon.
Hi Terre. Hope you get on top of that work soon
Night
PS I'm sitting here with a very full tum, ate all the salad left over at dinner. Totally overdid it (even if it's kind of healthy)Blah

Nikki you must be very proud of you son. My daughter is in the middle of applying to the army to train as a medic next year.
Fizz best to get that lump sorted ASAP. Even though it's likely nothing cancer worry is no good for our health. I hope they can see you soon.
Good Luck with your scan Twofer.
Being bald in winter is a bummer KT I lived in a wooly beanie one of my friends knitted.
I had clinic today and saw Rubén for the first time in nearly a year. I'd forgotten how like Sheldon from Big Bang he is. 3 more chemo then I'm off to stay with friends in Singapore and get 3 chemos off I can't wait

How is everyone doing? I am enjoying the school holidays - life just seems a little less busy.
Shazza, I love Singapore (many years since I've been there though).
Fizz, have you done anything about your lump?
KT how are you feeling?

Hi guys, hope everyone is okay and no-one got flooded last night up here in Auckland, that rain was intense. I haven't done anything about that lump yet. I have the next two weeks off so am going to call the Manukau Super Clinic then. My daughter has her orientation at tech today and starts next week. After all we have been through with her (terrible anxiety) there is just no way I could tell her. It's probably nothing anyway. Keep warm and dry everyone. Donna xxx

Hi
Singapore sounds nice Shazza. Neat to have things to look forward to.
I've made myself brekkie in bed, lazy start. Yesterday I had chemo at 8:30, so allowed myself 2 hours to get there because of rush hour- it only took an hour because the traffic flowed the entire way! School hols makes a huge difference! I keep forgetting to take my domperidone & then wonder why I'm feeling slightly off. I guess if was more nauseous I might remember better, but I feel really quite good on taxol, a bit tired but good.
I hope your daughter enjoys her new course & settles in quickly Donna. It's so great when our kids are happy, makes life happier for us too It will be good to be good to get that lump checked out soon.
My daughter is in Wellington now, with her flatmate. She's staying at her aunties (Dh sister)- free accomodation and a chance to get to know her better- win/win.
Good luck with your scan tomorrow Twofer.

hi Ladies - just been doing a quick catchup on how everyone is doing. Donna I hope you have got that boob checked out. You are probably worried sick about it and I understand your reluctance to tell your daughter. Don't prolong it just go get it looked at.
Kt you are an inspiration as always....hopefully your taxol regime will get those pleural tumours under control and zapped.
I need someone to motivate me to exercise too.....a personal trainer like Sonny Bill coming round to knock on the door every morning and get me out there would be good :-)
I have just been up in Tauranga again for school holidays. Lots of snow going up and detours around National Park and just rain driving back yesterday.
Going to Singapore sounds great Shazza. It will be pretty hot tho....drink lots of water!
How is your back doing Alyson? Have you given acupuncture a go at all?
And well done Nikki on your kids achievements ....they have done fantastically!
Well hope everyone else is well....I have 3 more study weekends left and then I should be able to relax a little more.
Cheers x

Help !!! My foob has sprung a couple of leaks and is oozing pale orange gunk. It's just over two years old so I'm not eligible for a replacement and they're pretty pricey. Any ideas on how to seal it? They are both leaking from a seam. I tried waterproof bandaids without success. I did try a couple of knitted foobs a while ago but they were very itchy. Thanks, Anne.

Hi Twofer,
One of my early foobs sprang a leak too- not on a seam, but the best fix I found was op-site (or similar clear occlusive dressing)
Hope it works for you too

I have a beaded swim form you could use as an interim- I was a c cup so I don't know if that's any help

Just realised I forgot to say hi Kruise
Hols in Tauranga sound nice. Long drive tho, especially with the weather we've been having.
Great you've nearly finished your study, woohoo what a relief
Have a great day everyone x

Twofer what size foob are you? I might be able to help. I have a spare c (thanks KT) and a D here. I just got my surgery date (squeaky wheel) and it's on Friday 14 August. I get another foob allowance so happy to part with either size.

Hi Kruise - good to see you

I thought you might enjoy a giggle. Yesterday I wore my dress to work inside out. I even had a label hanging out and the guys I work with didn't even notice. Not as bad as time time I wore lip liner on my eyebrows and no-one at work told me all day. I can't even blame Tamoxifen for that one. Hope everyone is good, Donna xxxxx

Haha Donna. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who does silly stuff.
I wonder where my head is at sometimes :P

Oh that made me laugh!!! Thanks Donna & KT. Just what I needed.

funny Donna. Has anyone ever worn two different shoes?? I remember I did once. I just had to walk one of my kids down to preschool and we were running late etc and I grabbed what I thought were the two shoes out of the cupboard and got to preschool and looked down at my feet horrified to see different shoes!!? Lol
I zipped home real quick before anyone noticed.......
Hope everyone has a nice weekend x

Good one Donna.
Twofer. Pm me as well I have some lonely foobs sitting here. Also if you go back to where you got it they often have extras they can swop with you. Opsite works well to seal them.
Have large fluffy cat sitting on me kneading me but as I am still in bed so foob damage is not an issue.
Back is a problem but have a busy day so have to get moving soon
Hope you all have a good day.

So wet today....def an inside day here. Might get some painting done.
Sorry you're still having problems with your back Alyson.
My scalp is bugging me at the mo, I have pimples all over it! Great look! Soft hats are the answer to hide it, but not comfortable. Hope they go away soon :P At least it's not my face & I can hide it
Hope you all have a great weekend
PS nice new avatar Kruise

Hi all. Thanks so much for all the info/offers to help. I was down with a cold and hadn't been checking the site. Silly me. Drove through Royal Oak Saturday morning and decided to call in at Naturalware (?) as the fix didn't hold and I was leaking again. They actually had some demo foobs available for $100 :-) I ended up getting a slightly larger more rounded style which is more "me", especially since I have put on so much weight - the other one was more pointed and looked so obviously fake.
Need to figure out the PM bit ---
I know there are health factors to keep in mind, but in many overseas countries there seem to be "banks" of no longer used bits and pieces - especially wigs and such like. Nothing here though.
See Reuben after work today to get the results from my CT scan on Friday. Fingers and toes crossed ...
Cheers, Anne

In the days when I wore skirts and court shoes to work, I would occasionally look down and see that I had one black and one navy. Used to feel like a real twit!

Good luck for your scan results Twofer. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you

Hi guys, hope you are all good. Today is the first day of my two week holiday from work. I can't afford to go anywhere unfortunately, so am just going to hang around at home doing things I never get the time to do like clean the pantry and do some sewing but it's day one and I just can't get motivated. I had a horrible virus all weekend as did my poor kids, my son sounds like a barking seal and my daughter isn't much better. I did put on different shoes once but fortunately I noticed as I got into the car. I went and saw Magic Mike on Saturday with some girlfriends, even though I didn't feel well I made myself get up and get dressed. Have you seen it, it's worth a look!!! Anyway take care everyone. I'm going to try and get motivated now. PS I am planning on going to the Superclinic next week to get checked out. Take care everyone. Donna xxx

Good luck Twofer, will be keeping everything crossed for you xxx

Good luck with the scan, Twofer. Donna - hope you feel better soon. I'd say you should just take a day to enjoy the sunshine if you can!

Hi everyone
Donna, it sounds like you might need a day or two to chillax & feel more energised. Good luck with your appt when it happens.
Twofer, have you joined sweet Louise? They have a wig library apparently & may have more stuff available. As well as the vouchers you can use at all sorts of places eg natural wear or head high etc- handy if you're short of extra cash. I hope the scan comes back ok
Shazza, hope chemo is still going well. The countdown is on till Singapore!
I worked today, one day a week is plenty at the mo.
Have a good afternoon

chemo 87 for me today. 10 sleeps, 6 more work days and 1 more chemo till Singapore. Not that I'm counting or anything.
How did your appointment with Ruben go Twofer? All good I hope
hope everyone else is having a good day. We have 10 six week old Labrador puppies coming into work soon for their shots. Cant wait. Too much cuteness in one place.
