Awwwww Shazza how cute - hope you can try get a pic of the puppies :-) Certainly not long to go now till your trip.

Hoping everything ok with your scans Twofer.

Cold here in Welly today but I've been out for a walk - and yesterday too. Trying hard again to lose some weight and get fit.

Feeling tired now - might need a Nana nap ....

Hi all. Good news from the scan - no further progression :-) The two spots in L3 and skull show shrinkage. This means the rapid spiral to osteoporosis over the last 12 months in the lumbar spine is "only" due to Letrozole/lack of estrogen thus will be left to my GP to manage. I am still leary of bisphosphonate usage (I've been taking Strontium Citrate). My GP is all gung-ho for Fosamax despite her acknowledging there will be problems. We did discuss taking a small dosage/lengthening time between doses. We shall see ... Next scan in January will be a PET/CT (if Southern Cross accepts) as that will be a full body scan (CTs have been head to pelvis only). Reuben is the just the same - I always want to smile when he does his OCD routine over his prescription pad ;-)

Hi KT, yes I am a member of Sweet Louise. Unfortunately I can't get to any of the meetings as I work full time. I've not used the vouchers yet. I have a lot of handyman type work that needs to be done (I can't manage it any more), but I've had issues with Hire a Hubby in the past. Might just have to bite the bullet.

    Cheers, Anne

Twofer what fantastic news, I'm so pleased for you. Hopefully Letrozole will continue to work its magic for a long time. Yes watching Rubén tick off a script form and repeat all the meds back to himself is something to behold. Always makes my day.

The puppies were so cute, wish I'd been able to get a few pictures. We have have been going through a bit of a sad patch at work having to put a few people's much loved pets down so it was nice to spend a bit of time cuddling those little balls of cuteness.

I really need to get out the door to Pilates then work. Have a great day everyone.

Hoorah Twofer. I'm so glad you got good news.

I'm with you & Shazza on enjoying Reuben's quirks, especially the prescription routine :)

Awww, puppies.... Enjoy Pilates. I'm going to try & get along on Friday, I haven't been since before my pleural effusion so it could be a bit of a shock to my poor old body. I'm not good at doing 'homework'.

I'm going to catch up with my sister (& mum, & possibly brother!) for lunch before chemo today. It's going to be a long one as I get my aredia infusion as well - so driving back in the rush hour, woohoo :(

Must wash my car before I go so I don't look like a country hick. Stupid gravel roads & driveways!

    Have a good day all

Great news Twofer on the no further progression status.

Hope your chemo went ok yesterday KT and you had a nice catch up with your family.

I need to give my car a wash too but it's not high up there on my priority list at the moment.

I have a nice couple of hours planned this afternoon. Going to go round to a friends and do some scrapbooking, which is my crafty hobby. so looking forward to that. I just haven't had much time lately to do any.

    Have a nice day everyone.

Enjoy your scrapbooking Kruise. I have a day off today and I'm getting a haircut, something I don't have to do that often these days.

Have a great day everyone. It's glorious out there.

I'm so glad your results were good Twofer. Hope everyone else is doing well. I envy your job Shazza except when it's sad :( I'm on holiday at the moment and starting to relax and enjoy it. My son bought me a new car which I still can't believe (it's not actually new, it's a 2005 Toyota Corolla) but it's a little beauty and I am so grateful. My other car was on it's way out and caused me a lot of worry. My daughter seems to be enjoying tech and started her placement at a pre-school today. It's a bit of a milestone that she is enjoying it, not having panic attacks etc. So I'm in a really good place at the moment. I have an appointment at the Superclinic next Tuesday so they can do an ultrasound on mammogram, even though it doesn't pick up lobular. But even that's not getting me down. Sometimes when I feel this good I worry that something will go wrong haha! can't win aye. Enjoy the sunshine. Donna xxx

Hooray at good results, Twofer! :)

Shazza - puppies are great therapy. Sorry you've had sadness at work, but glad you got some happy cuddles from the pups. I love getting my hair cut, but don't do it often enough. When it looks like a fright wig from the $2 shop, I know it's time.

    Kruise - enjoy the day!

Fizz - how awesome!!! Nw car!! Glad you've having a great day!

Things are good here; nice day in Welly for a change. They're putting up a huge crane next door to demolish the building. Really cool to watch. But I'd better work instead.

    Have a great one!

    Terre

PS...here's a rainbow shot from our house a few days ago. Not a great photo, but it was cool to see this huge rainbow out the back door.

That's a lovely view you have there Terre. I love not being surrounded by houses. Will be hard to move when we do. It's nice up here today too, but brrrr cold in the morning.

Donna, I'm glad you have an appt. what a wonderful son, buying you a car :) and I'm so glad your daughters enjoying her course. I know what you mean when things are going well.... I sometimes find myself waiting for the not so great stuff to pop up too ;) are we weird or what?

Hooray for hair to cut Shazza :)

Enjoy your scrapbooking Kruise. It's so great to be creative. I haven't done anything for a long time.

I hate to say it, but I'm still in bed. Just thinking about getting up again now. My son missed the school bus so I took him in, & it was so cold I jumped back into bed to read....my excuse is chemo yesterday. Didn't finish till 6 then a long drive in the dark thru rush hour. Mind you I don't need much of an excuse.

Time to get on with the day....

I'm off to The Comedy Club tonight for a work function (DH's). Hopefully it will be good for a laugh & the dinner will be nice. Great to not have to cook anyway. The kids can fend for themselves.

Hope you all have a good weekend :D

    Happy Friday everyone.

Wow, Donna your son is amazing!!!! I am glad that you don't need to worry about a car anymore, the less we all worry the better. Good luck for that appointment next Tuesday.

I hope the Comedy Club gives you a good dinner and a great laugh KT - nothing better than a good laugh.

Good news on the scan results Anne.

Shazza, I hope you had a great haircut. I had a 1/3 of an inch cut off my hair last week and it made all the difference despite not having much after chemo.'

Terre, that photo is lovely. I love rainbows and always have. I was really disappointed many many many years when I realised that there was no pot of gold!

Kruise, enjoy your creative afternoon. I don't scapbook, but I do do colouring in (always have despite the current craze). It helps me put my thoughts back in the right place.

    I hope I haven't missed anyone

    Scared

    Have a lovely weekend.

Have a very severe chest infection but it has given me the time to finish the shawl I am making for our new grandchild who will arrive August 4. So I am showing off.

OMG. That is beautiful, Alyson! You are so clever. Congratulations on the coming grandchild!

Sorry you have a chest infection. I hope it clears now so you can spend time with your grandchild (if they're in NZ)

I'm so tired & achy! I think it's partly Pilates & partly bone pain. Time to cook dinner, then relax. Going out for lunch with friends tomorrow so that will be nice.

Comedy club was mostly good last night- one of the comics totally bombed, but the rest were good :)

Alyson that is so beautiful. You are so clever.

I went out to a lovely lunch today for a friends 50th birthday. Don't think I need to eat again today. Out again for brunch tomorrow.

I got my suitcase out today. 6 sleeps, 3 work days and 1 chemo to go. I haven't done a lot of overseas travel so I'm getting beyond excited

KT sorry to hear you are feeling sore. Taxol is one for causing a bit of bone pain I think. I get it too. Hope you enjoy your lunch out tomorrow

Alyson - WOW! That's beautiful and amazing. What incredibly talent you have. Sorry you're ill and hope the chest infection clears soon. It's certainly making the rounds in our office.

KT - sorry you're sore. Hope you feel better tomorrow and have a nice time out and about.

Shazza - excited for only one more chemo and 6 more sleeps for you! Lunch and brunch sounds great too!

I'm joining the other gals Alyson with a big 'Wow' - the shawl is just beautiful. How long did that take you to make? Hope your chest infection is getting better.

My scrapbooking is going well. Might try and do another page today. Trying to finish the album for our baby niece - nearly there. It is great therapy doing something creative.

So not long now Shazzakelly- good idea to get the suitcase out and pack. Even if you don't zip it up till the last minute it gives you time to think about what you want to take.

Kt - hope those aches and pains settle down for you. Glad you enjoyed the comedy club and hope your lunch yesterday was nice.

Donna - hope you are enjoying a few sleepins with your break from work.

Hi to everyone else - Terre, Nikki, Anne, Woody, Midnight, Jo - hope I haven't missed anyone...hope your weekends were good. x

The shawl is truly amazing Alyson - definitely a family heirloom in the making.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Weather has turned to custard in Auckland - perfect for a Monday!

Wow Alyson you are so clever. I was going to post a picture of my bedspread that took years to make, but I'm too embarrassed now! Well it's week two of my holidays and I am bored out of my brain. It's 12.45pm and I have already made tea. I baked yesterday so can't do that again because I will just eat it. I can honestly say I am looking forward to going back to work next week - how sad is my life haha! Must admit though sleeping in is rather lovely on these rainy mornings. Hope everyone is doing well, Donna xxx

Hi all :) nice to see you

I hear you on the baking Donna. I don't do it very often for that very reason. I hope you enjoy your last few days off! and aren't too bored. Shame it's not much good for walking or going out at the mo, should be better later in the week tho..

I'm really tired today. Had my onc assessment appt, a long way to go for a quick check up. Chemo on Wednesday then work on Thursday, better try & find some energy. I'm still a little out of sorts, but I'll get there.

Not long to go Shazza & you'll be off on your adventure! & time off chemo! Fantastic....

    Catch you all later

Fizz let's see that picture. I love seeing what people make so don't be embarrassed  I am delighted with the shawl but it is no way perfect. I got very creative at times when the pattern wasn't working. It has taken about six months on and off.

Chest is feeling a bit better this morning thankfully.

    Have a good day

    Hugs

Hi guys, I will post a photo as soon as I learn how or can rope one of my kids to help me. I have been totally left behind with technology. I just got back from the Superclinic, I was there for 2 hours and it was ridiculously busy. I had a mammogram, needle biopsy and ultrasound. The mammogram was good, there was no cancer in the needle biopsy but the guy doing the ultrasound found a baked bean shaped and sized lump so they want me to have a biopsy on the 10th August. He said it could be a pappilon something and asked me if I had any nipple discharge which I haven't. I am so upset, I just can't believe I am having to go through all this crap again, so soon. The Breast Surgeon who is the same one I had last time said it looks okay, it's a Birad 3? and they are usually benign, but due to my history he wants a biopsy. I can't tell my Mum because she had a stroke last time, I can't tell my kids because I don't want them to worry. So thank god I've got you guys to confide in. Am I over reacting or would you guys feel the same. I've already decided if it is cancer I'm going to have a double mastectomy because I just don't want to go through this again blah :(

Hang in there Fizz!! If they guy says it's probably benign it will be

  • KiwiCatMom
    KiwiCatMom Member Posts: 2,337

Fizz - sending you huge hugs as well. It may be a pappaloma which is due to a virus. Similar to a mole or skin tag, but inside. Sorry you have to wait until the 10th for the biopsy - that seems like a lifetime (been there, done that). Sending very good thoughts you way and glad you have this place with others who understand.

Hugs, Donna. Hope you can distract yourself with other things till the biopsy. Not fun I know.

Chances are it's benign, but better to know.

    Take care all, night x

Donna sending hugs your way and keeping my fingers crossed for B9 results.

3 sleeps till I go away and for the first time in a year my lymphadema flares up. Can't believe it really. Not looking forward to 35 degrees wearing a sleeve. Hope it settles down before I go.

Poop to lymphodema! Lots of raised fist pumps and other exercises? It better bu**er off before you fly out!

Aw Shazza that sucks!!! hopefully it will settle down. It's getting exciting for you now, only 3 more sleeps haha! If I don't talk before then I hope you have an amazing time :) Thanks for the pep talk guys, I am feeling a bit more positive tonight, just hate keeping secrets from my family, but I think it's the best thing. Going back to work next week will be good for me. Not as much time for my overactive mind to go into overdrive. Take care everyone and have a ball Shazza. Donna xxx

Donna - I think it's a good thing they told you that it doesn't look sinister - I don't think they'd say anything if they were in doubt. Whatever happens you are getting it looked at now and dealing with it. Try not to worry - easier said than done I know - but worry is futile and uses up precious time that could be spent doing something else. If you need someone to talk too, pm me your number and I'll call :) just let me know...Remember there are other people that you can talk too as well about your concerns - Cancer society nurses etc.

Shazza what a pain about your Lymphodema. Hopefully it settles down again in the next couple days before you go. Have a great trip and we are all jealous of you going over to somewhere hot and un-winter like!! I'm over winter and there is still a couple of good cold months left.

I am really enjoying my scrapbooking. Trying to madly finish a baby album for our niece of her first year. I have 2 more pages to do which I've planned out. Then I hope to start a scrapbook for me with photos of our Europe trip last year.

Here is a page I did yesterday - I'm trying to choose good photos and make them stand out.
