Lovely photo Shazza, hope you continue to enjoy your holiday. Sorry to hear you are tired KT, I'm sure this horrible weather doesn't help, everyone I know at home and at work is a bit grumpy at the moment. I'm sure it's the weather. Well I am starting to get really nervous about my biopsy on Monday, I know I shouldn't but my body is telling me that I am as I have had a really upset tummy all week and having to take pills for the pain (I get IBs when I'm really stressed). I'm sure once it is all over I will be fine. I have finally got a Smart phone so will be be able to take photo's of my crochet blanket that has taken me 4 years. Just wish I was smart enough to work out how to take photo's and post on here haha duh!!!. I will do this in the weekend. Take care everyone, Donna xxx PS Nicki how are you doing, been thinking of you and hope your SOB is going to be ok so you can have your op?

hi Donna
You're prob right about the weather not helping. I hope your tum feels better soon.
A few of us have 'stuff' happening next week! You with your biopsy- it will be great to get that out of the way. Me with my CT scan on Thursday & Nikki's op on Friday....
Here's hoping for good results for us all
You'll have to get one of your kids to give you a lesson re the phone. Kids find that sort of stuff so easy. I stick to the basics...quite happy with that.

Donna, sending calming thoughts today for your biopsy...
I hope it goes well and you get yourself a little treat afterwards.
Well, I'd better go. I start work soon. Have a good day x

Thanks KT, you must have sensed me sitting at work here panicking a bit, I've already been to the loo three times this morning haha, too much information aye. I would like to wish everyone else good luck for this week too. Sometimes I'm not very thoughtful and only think about myself without realising you guys are all going through stuff too. I hope you can see my blanket, this took me four years on and off. It was a real labour of love. The only problem is I have two kids so should really start making another one - phew. Good luck this week KT with your CT scan and Niki, best of luck for your op. I hope I haven't forgotten anyone, Donna xxx

Hopefully this works!

Beautiful work, Fizzdon! And good luck with the bioposy.

I hope that the biopsy goes well Donna and hoping for good results from your CT later in the week KT.
I am feeling a bit better - and I haven't heard that they think that I am too sick to operate so it must be going ahead. I have 2 letters from Counties Manukau confirming my operation at TWO different places (Middlemore and Manukau Surgical Centre). The breast nurses say I am booked into Middlemore, but the booking confirmation lady says that I am to go to the Surgical Centre. I am thinking that I will pick on one and rock up there early and see which one is expecting me. Thank goodness I only have one boob so there's no margin for error there!
Hi to everyone :-) A lovely day in Botany today after a decidedly unsettled weekend.

Hi Niki the Biopsy went well, not nice but not too bad. Something positive though - the Radiologist said it doesn't look sinister, so I am feeling better about that Niki I think you should phone them about your surgery, it would be horrible to rock up to the wrong hospital and not be able to have your surgery? Is it possible they want you at Middlemore in case your SOB causes any problem? Let us know how you get on.

I'm glad the biopsy went well At least it's over & done with, hope the results come back b9!
Great blanket, must've taken hours.
I think I'd like to know where it's being done for sure Nikki! Who needs to drive all over town before an op.
It's cold again today, 0 deg when I started work. Not fun when you have to keep rolling down your window to put mail in frosty boxes. I'm hanging out for the occasional peep of sun
Well, I'd better go get my fortnightly blood test done before my Sweet Louise meeting.
See you later

Glad the biopsy went well, Donna. And glad it doesn't look sinister.
Niki - Your situation isn't funny but the "one boob" comment made me giggle. I love your attitude. I'd be ringing about which hospital. Actually, I'd be a screaming shrew.
KT - Burrr! It was -2 in Te Horo this morning, but all I had to do was drive to, then walk a couple of blocks to the train. The wind is bitter as in Welly today. Hope the blood test goes well.
Got some perspective today. I work with a guy who always is just even keel, never complains about anything, etc., but in retrospect, has asked me a fair number of questions about my cancer, side effects, etc. I just figured he was a caring kind of guy (and he is). And when you ask him about the weekend, he'll say something like "we took the kids to the zoo" or similar. Or, "we hung out at home"... Anyway, he raced out of work today, headed to the hospital. Turns out his wife is battling some form of cancer and she's in critical condition. Good chance she may not come out of the hospital alive. They have two young children, and apparently "this has been going on for some time." The boss told us about it this morning after my coworker left for the hospital. The others in the office and I are stunned; he's never let on that anything is wrong. The boss thought it was some type of stomach cancer, but he wasn't sure. My coworker is relatively young; late 30s maybe? Certainly makes me feel like an ass for bitching about arthritis and Femara side effects. At any rate, asking for prayers and good thoughts for them. Can't begin to imagine how hard this must be.
Well, I'd best get back to work....
Hope everyone has a good week.

Why is there so much cancer affecting young families. You keep hearing of more & more people. My Pilates instructor just visited a friend with a new baby who's husband has terminal lung cancer. And at the Sweet Louise meeting there was a newbie who's in her 30's.
Brrr, Terre, -2! That Wellington wind just goes right thru you too, prob felt more like -10!
Take care all

Donna what a great blanket it is beautiful.
Had fun here this afternoon temperatures went down to zero and we had frozen rain it is evidently called graupel which was weird but it blocked the gutters on the roof and flooded the bathroom. Water ran out of the light and the expel fan. We are not sure how the ceiling is. Our builder will be around in the morning.
Hope everyone is keeping warm.

That truly sucks Alyson.

Hi guys, Alyson that's a shame, never heard of graupel before, that almost sounds like one of those once every 100 year weather events that hopefully won't happen again for another 100 years! Hope everyone is doing well. Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day in Auckland today, had to scrape about 1/2" of ice of my windscreen this morning and I couldn't put my window down because it was frozen up. Take care, Donna xxx

Good luck for your scan today KT and good luck with your op tomorrow Niki. Hope everyone else is doing well Donna xxx

Good luck today KT. When will you get your biopsy results Donna
0 -
Hi Donna. Thanks for that When do you get your biopsy results back? I hate waiting for stuff like that....
Alyson, wow, what a mess. I hope it's all sorted now! Freak event I guess, never heard of graupel before this.i sure hope this cold snap ends soon. Another heavy frost here today.
It will be good getting the CT over with. I hate drinking the contrast. It'll be the first one I've had since I got my port & I believe they can use that for the other contrast, so one less needle stick in my arm (although it still hurts a wee bit in the port!)
Have a good day all - keep warm

Oh we were posting at the same time Nikki!
I was going to wait till later to wish you the best for tomorrow, but I'll do out now 'All the best for tomorrow x'. I hope you get to enjoy a bit of relaxing, pain free recovery time in hospital too. No cooking cleaning etc etc, a bit of a break! I'm so glad I had the prophylactic mx, it's so freeing. You can wear boobs or not, up to how you feel on the day I very rarely wear mine, only for a special dress for special event maybe....

KT Good luck with your scan today. Keeping my fingers crossed that Taxol is doing the trick.
Donna also keeping fingers crossed that your biopsy comes back benign.
I'm back from my holiday. I had a wonderful time but unfortunately was struck down with a bad bug 2 days before I was due to come back. Spent the last of my holiday in bed with a temperature and vomiting and diahreah. The plane trip back was a bit fraught and I've spent the last 2 days at home in bed sipping yucky electrolytes and lemonade Popsicles. I haven't eaten in four days but think today might be the day. I've kept a banana down. Might be my only holiday where I didn't put on weight

Oh Shazza that is such a shame, not what you want from a holiday. But a least you got it just before you came home, not when you first got there. I can't imagine what the flight home would have been like feeling like that. I hope you feel better soon. I get my biopsy results on Tuesday and I can already feel myself getting uptight. It's rather pathetic how my body reacts to stress but I really can't help it. I hope you start feeling human again soon Shazza.

I remember coming from Singapore eating charcoal tablets because of the runs! I so hope that you are feeling better now Shazza.
My surgery is at Middlemore, I was right! I can't wait to be free KT! I imagine that I will be like you and only take them out for special occasions. I am getting grief from my MIL about being "less of a woman if I don't have one dangly breast" FFS!
0 -
FFS is right! I hated being lopsided and one boob doesn't make you any more of a woman than none or even two!
CT all done. Nice having a port for access but it's a bit more faffing around.
I'm glad you know where your surgery is now I'll be thinking if you tomorrow.

Bummer about getting a bug Shazza. I hope you feel better real soon! I'm glad you had a good time tho. Is it nice to back home? I hope the kids had it nice & tidy & fridge stocked up for you (not that you can eat yet )

What the hell is wrong with some people, that's just not what you would expect, oh wait - it's a mother in law If my biopsy is bad I might just be joining you, don't need the bloody things anyway. Good luck Niki, will be thinking of you. Donna xxx

Sorry you got sick Shazza. Donna - fingers crossed for good biopsy results. Nicki - honestly....people just don't think. Geeze. All the best for your surgery.
Tired today...off to bed soon.
Wishing everyone a good day tomorrow.

All the best today Nikki. Thinking of you & here's to a speedy recovery.
You're not missing much out here today- looks very grey & will definitely rain. A good day to be tucked up inside.
Have a good day all, don't get wet

Yes good luck today Niki. Will be thinking of you.
I'm finally starting to feel normal again. Should be good for work on Monday.
It's a grey old Friday. Have a good day everyone
