You're Welcome, Kornelia! It's weird isn't it, but I would never, in a million years, have put pics of me, topless on the internet before. lol This experience has changed those feelings, at least, about that side of my chest, forever!
I have had many messages from other women who have woken after surgery with a result, that they are less than happy with. Knowing that you aren't alone with this, makes it a little easier to take and then knowing it can be fixed, if you want to, can change how you feel about it considerably. I couldn't find anything about this revision anywhere, which is why I gave the pics to Erica.
I found breastfree.org before I had my surgery and will always be grateful to Erica, one of our members for starting and maintaining that site. It has been so helpful, for many of us here.
I will be thinking of you and have everything crossed for a clear result of the nodes tomorrow. Hugs across the ocean!

hi Kornelia, welcome to the flat gang. Your poofiness could be that you are just out of surgery! It may need time for all the swelling to go away. Sometimes, even tho the surgeon tries to make you as flat as possible,, it is difficult to get it perfect when you are laying down on the table. Definitely give it some time for it to go away.As far as getting back in shape,, you had lymph nodes removed and that puts you at risk for lymphedema. So I would urge you to read the exercise threads over on the lymphedema forum,, and start slow and low! You can work up,, but don't go full out gang-blaster style! Carol, over on the lymphedema forum is a big exerciser and she has great advice!

I have been reading up on lymphedema. It does scare me a bit and I would like to do whatever possible to minimize my chances of getting it. I will definitely slowly work up to any weightlifting. That being said, I was hoping to be able to return to working part time next week. I clean houses for a living (for the last 4+ years). I will need to lift my vacuum cleaner and mop floors and such. I'll definitely practice at home and make sure I'm able to do all without too much discomfort before I return to work. I am wondering whether I need to get a compression sleeve and gauntlet to use while I work? I will ask the doctor about it tomorrow and see if he can write me a script if possible.

wow,, you just had surgery and you are going back to work! How are you feeling? Are you up to it?? I am a little concerned about you lifting the vaccum,, hope it is not too heavy. You don't have to be scared of LE,, just to be aware of it and do things to minimize the occurence. I really recommend you popping over the the lymphedema forum and starting a new thread,,, **going back to work next week,,, any advice?** something like that. Hoping that the people over there much more knowlegable than me can give you some advice.I'm thinking,, when you see the doctor tomorrow,, ask for a referral to a lymphedema therapist. Granted you do not need it yet,,,, but I think the LE ladies would recommend that you get measured now,,, good to have baseline measurements before anything starts up,, and the LE therapist could perhaps give you advice on prevention, especially since you have a physical type of job. Just a one shot visit for now. And a RX for sleeve and gauntlet not a bad idea either!

I am now counting the hours (41) to be exact, until I lose these torture devices called implants. I've had them over two years and given it the old college try as they say. I think two plus years of pain, a zillion pain pills and thousands of dollars later I am done done done. With the style of loose clothing I wear, one can't even tell I'm wearing a bra, let alone there's an implant in there so what is the point? I cannot wait to get this over with. I can't wait to report back on Friday - surgery is Thursday...yippee it almost feels like I'm going on vacation, I'm so excited!

Sitting in my hospital room on the other side of surgery. Yippee. Although I have two drains, I actually don't care. How I wish I never went with reconstruction but I would never have known the failed outcome if I never tried. I want to Thank everyone for your kind words and encouragement. Excited to see and feel a major improvement.

Just saw my PS - he pulled my drains and kicked me out saying have a great life.
Most of the bandages are off. It looks so great already and the relief from the implants is unbelievable. Now, back to my old pain-free self.

hi ladies,
I know this was absolutely the right decision having almost zero pain so quickly after surgery. Of course the incisions are tender as are the drain spots but overall the relief is incredible. I went to church today completely flat and did not feel a bit self-conscious. Now I'm weening myself off the narcotics...what a nice feeling. Thank you all for your support and kindness. It's so nice to not be alone.
