For some reason, I can't post a pic. I'm clicking on the "Insert Image" button above the reply box, but from there the pop-up screen won't let me click through to add a photo... I just keep getting the spinning rainbow parasol of death. LOL. I guess you'll have to just imagine my adorable Westie. Unless someone can tell me what I might be doing wrong!

Hey this is my Patty - love it! You are back baby! ( like Kojak used to say, yeah I know I am dating myself, all the time!) Dog w BC? what do they do for dogs with that condition?

DEE!!! You see why we need you here, are you kidding?? the view? top down??? oh my gosh, therapy in the making!

Mary any grass I see it's a miracle!

Terre Darn darn damn damn, grandmas are always right!

Deanna I am gonna mention next week what you sent to me. I hate to tell you guys, I spoke with the PA this afternoon (you guys told me to ask!) she does not think it's tumor flares :( , but nothing to say till they see the PET/CT. I told her I am more than willing to be hopeful for another week. Dani is not on Ibrance yet, although it was ordered already, but they wanna hold off, and first exhaust the other older stuff. Gemzar, Camtosar(cytotoxic) Flurouracil, Eloxatin and then anti nausea, steroids, and zometa. There that's her die!!!t for now, he might change the regimen next week.

If I miss checking in tomorrow, ( I will try later tonight) wishing all you beautiful ladies, and best friends, a very peaceful, restful painless HAPPY!!!! NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HUGS AND KISSES!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello, my dear bone mets sisters! Haven't been feeling perky so just trying to keep up a bit with reading. I was devastated to read of Dune's death. I will miss her advice, humor, spunk, and shining light. My heart is heavy.

Welcome to those new to the discussion board. You will find amazing support here.

I'm having some minor fluid buildup of my meninges from my skull mets pressing on the dura. It happened before and when the mets calmed down the swelling abated. So, I get a PIA headache after reading for about 30 min. Resting makes the h/a go away without taking meds. We're watching the skull mets more closer and frequently now. I did a week of steroids that helped but boy, I become a crazy lady on steroids.

Started Xeloda. Onto my 3rd cycle Friday. First time I'm experiencing really annoying side effects from treatment. I don't like Madame X, but I may love her if she does the job even with the side effects. I did start following the Xeloda thread. Thanx for pointing me to that thread.

Bloodwork next Monday to see if my CBC is improving on Xeloda. Madame X will hopefully give me back some bone marrow so I can make some blood components on my own. Hopefully I won't need transfusion of blood or platelets. Will be first time in 4months I won't need transfusions. I'm confident and cocky!

Love and light to all. Blessings for a Happy New Year.

    Patty,

A tad belated, but congrats on the scan..

I spent the day rapt the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It was cold, by CA standards, but clear and sunny. I had not been there since my girls were young. We all had a great time, especially my granddaughter. Tired, but very happy. Take care all

    Good evening wonderful ladies,

Just hanging on over here. Having issues finding placement for my Mom. She is getting RT to her spine so rehab placements are hard to find that will transfer her. She has yet to stand on her feet so safety is an issue. She was given Zometa about 2 weeks ago, now on Arimidex and faslodex

here's the second part of our Hawaii trip - now on Maui (or as my husband kept saying when we were leaving Honolulu "Here today, gone to Maui" - made him and his ma laugh anyway! And allowed DS to roll his eyes). I hope blue skies and sea will cheer people up and see us all set fair for improvements in 2016. Just to add a bit of excitement, I managed to slip getting out of bath yesterday and banged my head so had an evening at the Maui Medical Centre checking for internal bleeding in brain. CT was clear - no bleeding - but blood tests showed platelets at ten. Still they let me go home. DS told me I was a klutz, husband was terrified and my Onc (on e mail) said don't do it again. Medical Centre was v efficient. We were out of ER within 2 hours. Interesting other patients. Apart from the inevitable screaming baby (felt so sorry for the mother as I've been there) a guy in a wheelchair with an orange jumpsuit, covered in tattoos, hands in cuffs and accompanied by some beefy prison guards and a second guy in cuffs with police...

Happy New Year to all posters and lurkers

Great pictures! Patty - lovely dogs and your sons are so handsome. I'm jealous of the fish. :)

rnsparki - sorry you're going through the skull mets/headaches. But at least you have beautiful dogs to keep you happy!

Bosco - here today, gone to Maui! Hahaha....I love plays on words. And the picture is beautiful.

Will do my best to get some pics of our place tomorrow (finally). I did kitten stuff all day - picked up a rescued hissy spitty itty bitty kitty (sad it was scared but it was hilarious spitting away acting tough at 5 weeks old), cleaned cages at Kitten Inn and snuggled with the rescues I got earlier this week. So it was a good day. Then came home and took a nap for 2 hours - in the chair! DH used the new lawn mower and it's working great. That was our Christmas present to us - a lawn mower. :)

Sending hugs to everyone and Happy New Year!

    Terre

    Good morning all,

I love this dog mania! Such beautiful creatures to look at, although I would rather admire the gorgeous scenery in person posted by Bosco! Don't do that again Bosco! Hope you're feeling good after that fall.

Welcome to the newbies on the thread, sorry you have to be here but it's the best place to get info, support and knowledge. Niki, hope you find a rehab facility soon for your Mom. Of course you don't feel to happy right now, but as others have said and from my own experience, it will get better. The first few months are a roller coaster until things settle down.

rnsparky - Praying Madame X will be good to you. Those steroids can make us a bit crazy but when I had my allergic reaction, I never had so much steroids pumped into me and what a miracle for the pain!

Terre - you certainly know how to play with words as well (OH my dog! LOL). Can't wait to see those pics.

Sending hugs all around and may 2016 bring the very best to all of us.

Patty you have made me very happy with the results of your scan. After all the sad news of late it's nice to see someone having some good news. You have been through the ringer lately and you soooo deserve this I couldn't be happier for you. Enjoy your family.

Bosco your pics are heaven some day I hope to make it to the islands. I can almost feel the sun and smell the ocean breeze in your pics. Thanks and enjoy the rest of your holiday and be careful.

Dee I'm glad your back I have had some issues of late with Dune passing heart ache is a real deep pain. I guess that's the nature of the beast. Good things follow that is life I guess.

Love all the pics of the pets and Patty your sons are so cute. I will add mine to the mix.

Happy New Year to you all here's hoping for renewed health for us all.

    Good morning All!

Bosco, that pic of Maui reminds me of the Napili shores. Haven't been to Hawaii in many years, but still remember body surfing there, spending 8 hours a day in the water. Enjoy.

Terre, *tapping foot, waiting, waiting, waiting* Pictures of house please!

Msparki, Love Cooper and Bucky, so adorable. Fingers crossed that Madame X does the trick for you.

Wendy, Is that Chesterman Beach? Love Ucluelet/Tofino. We take Clyde for a fun, twisty road drive there every spring. Great fun & love walking the beach for hours.

I have my infusion this morning then spend the evening with good friends, so if I feel poorly, it won't matter, won't have to make small talk, can just sit & relax.

Last day of 2015, made it another year, hopefully we will all have many more together. You brave, smart, funny women (with amazing pets! ) are my rock, so thank you to each & every one of you. Cheers, Dee

    Hi ladies,

I know I haven't been on a lot, but I am keeping up with all the reading.

I am so saddened by Dune's death. I wasn't expecting it at all and it threw me. She was very special one of a kind lady.

I love all the photos of doggies. I don't have or want any of my own (too much work to me) but through others it's ok.

Bosco- love the photos of Hawaii- that's my dream trip, so maybe I will make it a reality within the next year or two.

I am so glad to see Patty back on here posting regularly!

I am going through my own struggles. Increased pain, scans next week which oncologist was planning anyways, my tumor markers are staying about the same or a few points lower. So I think I'm holding steady but we'll see what the scans say. And still the other stuff with my DH not being the most supportive, or conditionally supportive. I am using more pain meds than prescribed, but my onc told me to do what it takes to not be in pain. Lets hope pain management sees it the same way when it's time for a refill!!

First of all, I want to wish everyone a wonderful 2016. What this means is different for each of us, but whatever is best for you, I hope it comes to fruition. Peace, comfort and pain free for all!

Dee, so happy to see you mention Napili Bay. Although it's been a while, we used to stay at the Napili Kai Beach Club (now resort, I believe). I spent many happy and peaceful hours snorkeling in Napili and Kapalua Bay.

Lastly, many thanks to all who were gracious enough to be understanding and kind to all who post here, regardless of how well we are or not. I raise a toast to all 🍾🍾🎉

I also have great memories of the Napili Coast. Stayed at the Naili Kai when my kids were very small. Boscoe's pic looks like Wailea? Planning a spring break trip there. Living on the west coast has its Island benefits.

I got the worst cold I've had in years. I feel crappy. Had to cancel my ONC and blood tests and reschedule. I guess I'm staying home tonight. First time I've stayed in on New Years, except for the year I was on chemo.

I wish all of you lovely ladies a happy and HEALTHY (as healthy as is possible for each of us) 2016. I am looking forward to us all still being here for the next New Year.... And many more

Happy New Year, everyone! New Zealand is the first in the world to greet the new year, so there are good things about being on the wrong side of the date line. :)

Stefanie - bugger @ cold. It's been posted here before, but we really need to get a pass on that kind of crap. UTIs, flu, colds, etc. I hope it's truly a cold and is gone in under 7 days as colds are supposed to do.

The pic of the Oregon coast is lovely, Wendy. I had to giggle though, because everyone is asking where the beach is..I want to know what kind of dog you have! Is it a Bernese Mountain Dog? Truly lovely doggie in any event.

Dee - hope the infusion goes well and that you can enjoy staying with your friends.

Cristina - here's hoping you're holding steady too.

And to all thinking of going to Hawaii...don't forget, when you get there, you're at least half way to my house. :) And New Zealand is a lot cheaper than Hawaii (especially since you have a free place to stay!).

I promise I will take pictures today. Just don't judge the incredibly tall grass....we're working on it!

    Hugs to all,

    Terre

chelle - good luck cha ching !

    Lindalou. Love the pic

I had a regularly scheduled appt with mo this am. Mo very impressed with pet scan results. He said he doesn't put much stock in the SUV #'s. Only if they are going up or down. Showed me the current pet pics on the left side of screen and Aug pet pics on right. Wow. Major difference. Current side hardly no light. Aug side was lit up like s Christmas tree. Yea! Said we will continue same tx. His nurse told me 2 das ago tat according to radiologist notes my hip was so bad it could break just standing up and putting weight on it. Mo said today not as concerned now that he seen pics and seen me. Said go ahead with ortho consult Monday and see what they think. He thinks if continued positive response to tx it might heal itself. Basically he don't want sued if he tells me to wait and then it breaks. He said the increased back pain is from taking bone. Said growing bone hurts. Cool. That makes me feel better.

    Hugs to all

Love the photos of Maui and the Oregon coast! Thanks so much for sharing them, ladies! But, oh, Bosco... that fall! Are you okay now? Hope so!

Great news from your scan, Patty! I'm smiling thinking about all those little lit up areas looking much dimmer! Hopefully, ortho will agree hip surgery isn't as pressing.

Happy New Years to everyone! I think this New Year wish fits us all!

My sincere gratitude to the women on this thread who have made the past few months less terrifying for me and have contributed their wisdom, questions, levity, and companionship. I really do appreciate all of you and look forward to getting to know everyone better in the new year.
