I'm with you there Lita I had a glass last night as well it was heaven. Wow that will be a hard funeral to get through remember she is a different person than you are . If this disease has taught me anything it's that we all react differently to treatment . Love the patio and your beautiful smile.

Momallthetime I'm sending all the good juju I posses to your daughter and you may it be a clear MRI☺️

Babs why why do we do these things to ourselves hope it was a small gash, though the word gash would indicate otherwise. Be careful and safe it all looks so wonderful. I was bitten yesterday in the finger by a squirrel I was feading. It was a Monty python moment for sure do I need a tetanus shot now I'll ask at chemo today lol. image

Thanks Lynne (50sgirl) for the update on Micmel.  I did do a search for her and saw that she was posting a lot on the thread you mentioned so I was relieved to see that.  I don't read that thread so I'm glad you shared her good news with us.  Very happy to hear she is doing well!

Oh Wendy - I don't know about tetanus but what about rabies?  Hope it was just a little nibble.  Yikes!

Babs - hope you are okay.  I'm thinking if you hit the sign with enough force to cut through your lymphedema sleeve then that indeed would be a gash.  Or that was a very sharp sign! Yikes again!

Lita - I too raised a glass with you last night!  Hang in there!  Friday will be here before you know it.

    DD and DHimageDD and SIL

Cathy I hit the sign just a tad under my shoulder where the sleeve doesn't reach. It hurts but is manageable. Today was the wedding. We chilled until we had to get ready. It was in Cesaria on the water. What a magnificent site. The wedding itself was amazing. So glad we came!

Lita well she fakes it the best. You know the saying, the world is a stage, we are all actors some better than others, well she is a star 😉She has multiple lesions through the skull, two on the cerebellum, one was radiated and it's smaller, one is being watched, and stuff pushing in the Dura and at times she had in the mandibular, in the optic area (all radiated) and now on the orbital area, we should know by tomorrow. RO is pretty good in getting back to us asap. She is a crazy girl, her scheduled is filled with projects with the girls for this week – this is her motto

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGxwbhkDjZM oh my gosh how I love this, we live by that. The not knowing is so hard.

Babs just fabulous!! What a gorgeous sight, so glad you are there! What a sophisticated outfit DD is wearing, maternity clothing sure isn't what it used to be.

Lynne thanks for the update. Hope you are having a grand summer and a quieter one!

You know, Chelle didn't check in in awhile, hope you are managing sweetie.

Babs- love the photos from your trip! Such joy to have family together.

Lita- Thinking of you! I added boswellia (sp) to my supplements as others have said it can reduce brain swelling. My headaches seem a little better. The waiting is tough. Sending hugs

I'm loving the photos Babs! So many pretty views. Happy anniversary.

Thanks, everyone, for pain and histamine relief suggestions. I've done it all.

I have been researching cancer pain online, to add to the advice of the few people here who are on rotating opiates. I'm concerned that I've developed opiate tolerance, which means I don't respond to opiates at all. Which scares me, as I need to know I'll have something when my life is almost over to reduce the pain.

My doctor tripled my pain dose of Oxycodone and it's not touching the pain. I'm now at 300 mg a day, which is just, ugh, unacceptable. And I'm still in pain. Last night my onc started me on Gabapentin. She promises me she has patients on opiates who have had their pain reduced by adding Gab.

I will see my pain doctor at Sloan-Kettering in 2 weeks. Trying to hold on until then. Pain is mainly in my left hip. If I'm immobile, it's not so bad. I dislike not being able to do anything more about my pain and not being able to participate more in life. DH is an endurance athlete who goes for 100+ mile bike rides. The contrast in our abilities makes my heart ache.

tell me more about the tea! I so enjoy reading everyone's posts. Yes I'm in the pics posted. Blonde hair white shirt. I'm only halfway through my first round of treatment and feel good. My main problem is I have seroma drained from my mastectomy weekly. Will this ever stop? I want to be fitted for a prosthesis but can't due to fluid build up. Don't want to even consider reconstruction.

Tarheel ( Ronda) If misery loves company, then it sounds like we are in the same boat. I'm sorry you are struggling with pain and pain control. I too have hip/pelvic pain that is unrelenting along with tumors in lumbar and thoracic and rib. I'm doing all the pain meds you have mentioned. I just finished a full spine/lubmbar/pelvic MRI protocol and that will hopefully give me some answers tomorrow. The last thing my MO mentioned was Gabapentin, so that may be my next choice as well. I will let you know if they come up with any other pain regime. Sorry you are feeling left out as your dh is a biker. Mine is a golfer and heads out a lot. I don't like being left behind either.

Mom, How are you holding up?

Rachel, it is good to hear from you and always love the photos of you and your family.

Patty, rest up now when kids are back in school.

Linda Lou. Gabapentin did not work for me. What works for one might not for another. Diladid and morphine time release are my life line

TarheelMichelle and Lindalou, Were you at my appointment today? I am having the same problem with my left hip, I had no pain in left hip until after they radiated it. Apparently, I have osteoarthritis in my left knee which has been extremely painful for the past 9 months, now for the last 4 mos my left hip really hurts. My quality of life is sliding downhill rapidly. If I don't walk I am fine, as soon as I start walking the pain starts and the more steps I take the worse it gets. When I go to the grocery store, by the time I get to checkout, my knee and hip are screaming at me. Finally, they are scheduling an MRI to try to find out what's going on. I only have Tramadol for pain. This pain is wearing me down. Plus I know how bad it is not to move. I can't stand this! I also have mets in the same areas as Lindalou, except throw in my right hip and both femurs. I can handle the pain from theses mets, but not this left knee and hip pain. MRI on Sept 1999th and then results on Sept 2699th. Wish me luck. Let me know what works for you. Hugs and prayers everyone

TarheelMichelle, I can relate to what you are saying, although my pain is not as severe as yours. I am Oxycotin 60 mg 2X a day, and when I said I still had pain in my left hip and leg (I have a rod in that leg), he upped it to 60 mg 3X a day. I cannot handle that much, so I'm still doing 2X daily. I think MOs believe everything can be handled with higher dosages. I'm going to see a palliative care doctor tomorrow to see what his suggestions are, and I'm seeing a radiation oncologist on Friday to see if I'm able to have more radiation to different areas in that hip/leg. Good luck in finding the right meds for you.

DC197...do not give up on rads...they can do a world of good. The ommon wisom among ROs is that you can't radiate an area twice.

Not true. My RO says they can "cheat" it and go around an area with the more accurate, targeted radiation they have these days.

Ask about gabapentin, too. Some say it really helps.

Another shot of new patio. I plan to spend as much time out here as I can.

    Lovely patio, Lita.

My RO says the same thing. Different angles and precision rads can help a spot that has already been treated.

Thanks, Lita and Kaption, you've both given me hope that rads will give me some relief from this hip/leg pain.

Lita - your patio is lovely and very inviting!  I would spend as much time as I could there as well.  Enjoy!  Hope you are feeling better.  Just a couple more days until your MRI, right?
