Chabba, interesting bird stories. Reminded me that I feel we humans are very connected to the animal world in general ... actually to everything beyond ourselves in general.
Sandpiper, I have decided to put yoga back in my life ... it used to make me feel healthy.
The birds are singing in my backyard ... calling me outside. Happy Sunday everyone.

Jazzy again u come up with a beautiful picture--but those are big birds, like from 1,000's of yrs ago.
I love to mediate (which I haven't done so much lately) Yrs ago I was actually taught how to meditate and relieve stress with my body--I should go back to that for sure it was always so refreshing, I felt like I hypnotized myself too. LOL

Hi hermits- I woke up early today after good deep sleep. All that walking and fresh air yesterday. Been indoors doing cooking today. Made some fresh berry salad, some hot italian sausage in sauce, and going to do a crock pot of vegetarian chili next! Been relaxing for a bit which has felt nice.
I am a big fan of yoga. I go once a week to a class at my gym, sometimes more often. Yoga helps with the SEs from the arimidex and also is good for preventing osteoporosis. Never mind the overall mental and spiritual benefits. Meditation as part of that too. Really good for the mind body and spirit.
We have so many yoga studios in my city now. When I started with it here in 1998, there were classes here and there, a few classes at the gym. It has become very mainstream now. I used to go on international yoga retreats for awhile, last one in 2009. I have less of a desire to travel internationally these days.

I love my Knitted Knockers! They are light and soft and warm. Unlike my silicone prosthetic which is heavy and cold when first worn, then it later causes me to sweat.

Hi Folks, I recently found out some info that has pissed me off in re: the drugs given to me during treatment for BC. I was almost killed with my one and only chemo. Taxotere was the culprit. I "failed" all three AI's b/c of s.e.'s. All of this could have been avoided had my MO paid attention to the Cytochrome450 genetic testing. Of the six genes tested, I have abnormalities in three. All are major players in the drugs I was given. Had I been tested, it would have been known. The drug choice and /or dosage modifications could have been made
Rather than rewrite the details here The link below will take you to a thread that has the posts that I have written in the last few days.
I'm not trying to sell Genelex. Other laboratories are doing genetic testing. But Genelex is the only company right now that provides the application of the genetic results to the drugs we are taking. Other companies, I'm sure are trying to build the same business model. It's the future of drug administration.
Why? Patients will no longer except being experimented upon with drugs that can harm them. If the docs won't do this because it's the right thing to do it. Then we have to PUSH them into doing the right thing.

TY for the links Sas. My sister and now I, suspect I have some problem metabolizing meds d/t multiple SE's, including a severe multitude of SEs to Tamoxifen. My 19yo son had the same SEs to oxycodone as I had.....to the T. hmmmm
Anywho I like The new avatar too Jazz. I feel like the cat. I just want to put my head through the blinds today.

Sas- your genetics testing and treatment options post makes one think. I do feel like I am a research project sometimes during all this. I think the genetics testing around bc is evolving very rapidly right now. My BS has a new panel being run on me as of this follow up (should hear more in a few more weeks as 3-4 weeks is commonly the follow up time frame on genetics testing). I am going to read your link when I get the chance. I did not have chemo, but know that could be a future discussion, should I need it. I agree that with better information, doctors need to be working to further tailor our treatment.
Cami & Piper-Glad that you like the new avatar, I changed it last weekend. I play the saxophone so I wanted to change my avatar to go with that.
Cami- no doubt you must have some cabin fever but know you said you have also been lower energy lately. Maybe you can ease out with the spring thaw? I hope Joey feels better soon. Lots going around still. Change of seasons and unusually warm weather taking it's toll here with lots of colds.
Piper- you had a long day. I hope you can get some good rest.
Speaking of colds, I am home with a the start of one today. I was very tired on Sunday, thought it was from the busy week. Then yesterday I was sneezing all day and thought it was from allergies as things are blooming here (some on schedule, some to early). I woke up today and felt really tired, achy, and sneezy too. So this girl decided to stay home from the client site and do a bit of remote work and rest. I got as far as getting dressed, lunch packed, car out of the garage and then said "chit, I don't think I can do this today." Back to my bathrobe and bed I went. There are so many people at work sick right now.
Hope everyone is having a reasonable Tuesday.

Jazzy that is so beautiful. Along with all of the great pics over on the peaceful contemplation thread. I was looking them all over as I needed some peace today.
Hope everyone is feeling better, well and warm.
My heart has been warmed today by some genuine giving and caring souls. Honest ones too.
My car broke down at work, 40 min from my house. Thankfully I wasn't broken down on the highway in these freezing temps as the roads were also very icy and there were accidents everywhere. Waited 2 hours for a tow, but got home eventually, tow truck driver drove me home after we dropped the car off. Strangers were going out of their way to make sure I was ok until I got towed.
My neighbor gave me 3 goodie bags and some home made chicken soup and rode me back to the garage to pick up my car.
My bill for repairs

The parts that went bad were replaced/fixed in Nov 2012 and still under warranty at the garage. Good thing I had it towed to the place I get most of my car work done.
I thanked them for their honesty. Because I would have never known if they were screwing me over.
Today, I am feeling a little more like there are still loving, giving human beings in this world. Yep, I have become quite cynical over the years. I need days like today to remind me of that spirit with which I so often look for.
Going to try and hit my treadmill.....TY ladies for sharing, just lending me your ear and your kindness too

Hi hermits- working through this nasty head cold. I did not sleep that well last night and been doing some work/calls from home again, but have way less energy today. Some of the congestion is clearly, hopping in the shower for a good hot soak under the shower head helps. Hopefully I will start getting on the other side of this tomorrow. First three days of a bad cold are always the worst!
Hope everyone else here is doing okay today and are germ free!

Piper- oh yeah, I know lots where the wheel is turning but the hamster is done! I work with a lot of people like that, they show up to work but really don't do much. Makes it hard when they are on my project team.
Cami-I am feeling better today. The weepy part of the cold with all the sneezing, nose running, etc. seems to be waning. Just congested and got a bit of a cough. I do need to go to work today, but won't work a full day. I won't be on site tomorrow as I usually work remote on Friday's anyways.
I am going in for my six month mammo tomorrow as part of the current 6 month follow up. Fingers crossed. If all is good, then I just need to wait to hear anything from the latest genetic test my BS suggested I do. I probably won't know anything on that until sometime in March.

I came home from church on Wed. eve. to find my furnace not working. When I turn it all the way off, then turn it back on its kicks on for a couple of minutes, then nothing. I got up this morning and it was 52 degrees in my house. I called my landlords 3 phone numbers....cell & business. He's always great at calling right back and gets things taken care of right away, so I'm afraid he might be out of town. The wind chills are below zero, and we're expecting 6 inches of snow. I pray he calls in the morning. My bedroom is like an igloo.
