Onco, you have a wonderful collection of birds.  Do you have feeders?  Do most of them or all of them stay year round?

U gals re doing a ot of yakking in the last 2 days.

Lizzie Welcome, I hope u come back and tell us a little something abut u'r self and it's true this is a great thread for all of us.

I've been so busy Iately with phones and actual personal calls I'm way behind in my computer world. This is happening more and more and I don't like it. Now see I can't think of anything I really read except birds, feeding birds, knowing birds--well that figures cuz that's another thing I know nothing about.

Didn't get much sleep last nite but my SIL should be home today with some pain meds, antibiotics and something else.

Oh I had more to say, but my eyes are burning right now so BBL

Hi hermits- I am done, Done and DONE with the contract as of today. Final docs and invoice submitted and now I go into July with long overdue time off and many things to do.

We had a final program celebration tonight at the zoo. I will have some cool pics to share from my time there. Got some great close ups of some of the birds, big cats and the polar bears. The animals looked so hot tonite, it was over 100 here today. I was talking to them as I walked through the exhibits (no one around). I was wondering what it was like to have no privacy and people staring at you all day long? I don't think I would like it.

Cami- you sound busy and wondering what the 50 shades of grey slippers will inspire you to do.

Teka- love those flowers! So beautiful, and it sounds like they will go on now through the fall?

Lily- I am sorry that neighbor is up to no good again. So stressful. Are you continuing to heal from the recent surgery?

Sally- what is going on your way?

    Blondie- how are you feeling?

Mags- are you feeling ready to start chemo?

Basia- how are you doing with your recovery?

Ducky, Lizzie, and everyone else, here, hoping you are doing okay this week.

    Jazzy, Yay! You finished!!!

Is anyone ever ready to start chemo?

I'm sure not, though I believe I'm as prepared as I possibly can be.

Mags- good point. I did not do chemo so I don't have any first hand suggestions for you, but did help my sister when she was starting it. I just remember that 2-3 days after her infusion is when the side effects hit. So maybe just clear your schedule of any to-dos for the weekend and prepare to rest.

I really hope it goes smoothly for you and that you have few SEs.

Hi Jazzy,  your post sounds light hearted ... good ... my guess is that the end of that contract and vacation mode is like a special present.  How neat to have alone time with animals at the zoo.

I have spent big parts of the last three days caught up in "Blindsided" the Sisterhood book by Fern Michaels.  I did not like it as much as some of the earlier ones, but it was fun to "visit" with old friends.  I am glad I read the series in order.

Mags, I am thinking of you as you start chemo ... take good care of yourself.

Teka ... good morning to you too.

Mags- you are one brave woman. I hope things went well today. Let us know how you are doing as you go along.

Teka- you crack me up! Bounjiourno to you too!

Sally- are you an avid reader? I love to read but have had little time to, but got back into my reading groove up in Aspen with some of the quiet time in the mountains. I just started a book by Barbara Kingsolver (one of my fav authors) called Flight Behavior, which I am already hooked into. I have not liked her last couple novels (Poisonwood Bible or Prodigal Summer), but loved some of her very early works like Pigs in Heaven, the Bean Trees and her short stories are also good. It will be a good book to be ready this coming month, and when I am traveling back east in a few weeks. Always important to have a good book with you, especially for plane time and airport time too!

I had an early morning apt but let myself have a leisurely breakfast on the patio at one of my favorite spots, then did a bit of shopping, including some gifts for July birthdays with folks I will be seeing back east soon. Few more errands and home now. It is super hot here and staying in now for the heat of the day.

I hope everyone is doing okay today. Where is Basia?

Aw Jazzy, I hope I sleep like a hibernating polar bear tonight! It's after six and I've been awake since about 2:30 am. Gotta love steroids. Got home, took pup outside and ended up filling the watering can for the potted plants on the patio. I have cherry tomatoes starting to pink up.

Hi everyon e, sorry I'm still so busy

Mags u did good, and feeling good too? I too hope u'r SE are few.

Jazzy u really sounding happy---oh like the cat boy would I cuddle with that one oooooo But great pics.

Blondie u'r not saying much , I hope things are going well.

And gardens galore with u guys. Great I know u have them too Teka.

And it sounds to hot for me in NM--I know I complain about every season, but winter is the easiest for me, it's not scary since I don't have to drive and if it's a blizzard u can get ready for it and wait it out, now it's tornado time, super lightening storms all scary to me. Well that's just my opinion.

OK I hope everyone has a good evening and nite--Mags, I hope it goes well.

Mags just a thought or thoughts--stop using silverware when u eat, use plasticware and use biotene mouthwash and toothpaste. nd if u don't like the regular taste of water u can try the flavor waters I drink Propel and the vitamin waters are probably better but I like what I drink. U can also get ice chips while u having chemo--women I know iced their finger and toenails during it and they seemed to think that was good--I didn't so I don't know but they had very little SE with them so it probably is good.

Cami, they administered the adriamycin by push not bags, and they gave me a popsicle while they did it. I also had a cup of ice chips I sucked on the whole time. Ate some candied ginger, drank some ginger ale (they only had Shasta, which doesn't seem to use real ginger and actually has splenda in it). I actually at a good dinner; my cousin made a new casserole, chicken, cream, mushrooms, and fresh tarragon from the garden, with cheese topping, and I ate a good bit. Not really having anything more than a mild queasiness, certainly not real nausea. Drinking real ginger ale tonight. Ain't nothing like the real thing, baby!! Amirite?

However, since I've been awake since 2:30 this morning (roughly 19-1/2 hours now) and I'm no longer the young pup that could pull all nighters and work full days in between, I think it's time I hit the sack. Heavy eyelids.

    Nini Hermitage.
