Hi Joannad, welcome to our thread. I am sorry all you have gone through, including the loss of your sister. I lost my brother in 1992 and understand the loss of a sibling very well.

You and I were also diagnosed around the same time and it does sound like we had similar treatment (Savi is internal rads, yes?)

Nice group of ladies here as you have probably picked up reading our thread. We try to support one another and work to be a judgement free zone. We try to have a few laughs here too.

I hope you like it here and will stay and be part of the conversation.

Welcome Joannad!  Hermits unite!  Glad the work week is over.  I did have an appt. with my PS this week.  Everything looks good.  Have to wait a couple months now for my skin to heal and the scars to soften up from my nipple reconstruction before I can get some tattooing done.  He said maybe before the end of the year.  A nipple tat for Christmas!  Having some great final summer weather - Will get some gardening work done this weekend hopefully.

Good morning hermits- I am getting myself going to do a short bike ride and then off to play some music before I come back to work on the house some more.

    Wishing everyone a good day!

Good morning, Hermies. It's day 5 post chemo #4. Still just queasy enough to be uncomfortable, and the zofran has done all it can. At least it's not the bad cramping and D. My legs are like rubber. Plus, it's a rainy drizzly day here. Just sitting in the recliner with my tea while DH is watching more stupid human tricks on tv. I don't know why he likes this stuff, must be a guy thing. It just makes me hurt when I see them crash & burn. Oh well. At least he's sitting here with me and that's a good thing. The dogs refuse to go outside to do their business when it rains, they are such wimps. They think they'll melt or something.

    Welcome, Joanna. Hermits unite.

    Hi Hermmies

Lily that's a strong drug it even treats PTSD and there are drugs that are cousins to that one. have u tried any that are not related to that one-cuz there are quite a few that are in that cast. There are some that are not in that class at all so they might give u a different result. In fact there are plenty. Just saying....

Mgs it sounds like this one was a little better for u and u'r almost done right? I'm laughing at what u'r DH likes, well the goofy movies I like too, but not wht he's watching today--that is a guy thing. LOL

Well Jazzy's out and about so that's good.

And I hope everyone has a good day.

    Hi Hermits.

I was going to break my hermitting today and meet some of the family at a soccer game.  Good thing I checked with DS, as the soccer game was cancelled.  I did schedule a lunch date with an old friend ... I am trying to be more social.  I do feel that my stamina is increasing.  Walking and yoga are probably helping.  So many of you seem to get out ... that has been inspirational.  I love hearing about your adventures.

I actually wish we would get a little rain here.  It's been a long dry spell in the Pacific NW.  We're in the 90's for a couple of days now.  Supposed to cool down a bit this next week.  I guess summer's not quite ready to give it up yet.

Hope all you Hermits are enjoying your weekend.

Good morning hermits! I finally finished my dining room reassemble today and it is looking really nice. Now on to the other rooms. I have a busy week ahead with my professional world and must get things as far along today as I can. It is a gorgeous weekend here.

I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday whatever you do!

Good morning, Hermies. Feeling much better this morning, DH scrambled some eggs for me and I'm drinking my tea. Man, I miss my coffee! It smells so good but tastes so bad. No sign of D! But I have an awful twitch in my right eye. Very distracting.

Sunny and 72° here, just a beautiful pre fall day. Jazzy, I'm dying to see your reassembled dining room with new floors. I know it's lovely.

Teka, drink a cup for me, will ya? Blondie, Monis, Cami, soak up some rays while you can, have a wonderful day.

Mags- here is the dining room. Floors are the same, but it highlights the new accent wall.

I am into buddhas and have one in every room and a few in the garden too.

Jazzy good choice, looks so pretty and yes so uncluttered like Teka said.

And the weather is beautiful today with window open and just plain nice.

    jazzygirl Member Posts: 11,975

Teka- well, the living room and dining room are looking pretty good, but the other rooms still have lots of stuff/clutter I am working through. I am creating some clean spaces as I put things back together to give me the inspiration to get the rest looking this way. I love the way a room feels when there are no piles.

Love the photos of the garden. I wish I could reach into that photo and snatch some of those little tomatoes off the vine. Do you just eat them or put them in salads too?

Which are the Love Lies Bleeding? Isn't that an Elton John song too? Now that is going to be in my head the rest of the day....

    jazzygirl Member Posts: 11,975

Teka- those are really pretty. I don't think I have ever had those in my gardens here or back east before.

Enjoy those end of the summer tomatoes. I will miss the fresh veggies of summer time.

I have a busy week ahead but will pop in when I can. Hope everyone going through treatment (Mags, Bippy, etc.) and those recovering from surgery like Lili keep taking good care of themselves and are feeling well too. Blondie and Cami, I hope you both are feeling better from your SEs and other ailments. I will be thinking of all of you even if you don't see me here as much.

OK Jazzy but u know we'll really miss u, so stop in when u can.

Teka I'm one of the few people on this earth that doesn't really care about being outside unless I'm with my family and .or friends and that cuz that where they are. And yet we tend t sit in screened porches now LOL If u saw how quietly I live u would think I'm really insane--no one gets it I have to talk on the phone now but I go for days without talking and I live with my kids--but I always talk to Joey--I say Good Morning and Goodnite to the kids that's it--I choose this tho--that's what I'm comfortable with--Wjen we have company and we're sitting on our deck I'll  do that but people tend to go in cuz of the mosquitos or those little tiny flies---but none of those things must not like my blood cuz they don't bit me ever since I've had BC--so the guys might stay out longer and I sit with them--Then all of a sudden I tell my DD I'm tired and I go in my room and no one bothers me and I might come out to say goodnite to everyone if they leave about the same time. But when I'm with people I talk all the time and am silly too so no one really knows about me not feeling good, I always say I feel fine, then they see me walk LOL--I go for weeks without leaving my room -well except to take my shower and bathroom--and I tell my sister I have gone out cuz she for some reason worries about that. But I'm fine. Of course when I worked I was much more social, but not anymore. If I wore a mask, they'd call me the lone ranger, well without a white horse.Or Tonto

Teka and Cami sound like me. Why should I go anywhere? My friends all live in the computer. I never get lonely. I rarely get bored. I leave the house to get my nails done and for chemo, that's all. I'm dreading rads because I'll have to go out EVERY DAY! How will I ever manage? And I didn't just get like this. When I had my own graphic arts business, the last ten years I didn't have an outside office, worked from home, had maybe one or two meetings a years that I had to go to, everything else was digital.

Except to go on cruises. That's a different story. That I can do. And we will do that again, after Christmas some time. I'm a different person on a ship. Why is that?

Jazzy, have a great & productive week.

    Teka, what kind of tea?
