Getting into hermit mode now that Fall is here. Nothing better than curling up in front of the tv with the new season starting of my favorite shows or reading a book.

Jazzy, that's one of my favorite movies, I've watched a dozen times at least. And the music! I have the soundtrack on my phone. Another favorite (coincidentally also with Jane Seymour) is the '80's remake of The Scarlet Pimpernel. Heart melts. Her costar, Anthony Andrews, also starred with her in the movie about Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, later Duke & Duchess of Windsor. It was called The Woman He Loved if I recall correctly. They had wonderful chemistry.

    Chemo went swimmingly.

Hi Mommyof 2- welcome to our thread. You are right it is going to be hermit time soon as the winter approaches. What shows do you like and what book are you reading?

Onco- yes, I did meet him. He was on my plane flying from NYC to LA in 1979. It was my first time flying cross country on a plane too. It was right during the time of Superman, and I had just seen that movie the night before too. I spotted him in the airport, and was watching him all along the way. He was in first class, but I was near the bulkhead in coach and was spying on him the whole time through the curtains. Brook Shields was on the plane too, but was like 12 then and known for her early movie, Pretty Baby, which I knew nothing about.

When we went to get off the plane, we went from the middle (the old L1011's) and he let me into the aisle, and I told him I loved his Superman movie. Let me tell you, he was one of the most handsome men I have ever met, and a smile that would melt your heart. He seemed like a very down to earth guy. I always felt so badly about his accident and later his passing, then his wife died soon after. Which makes me wonder how his kids are doing, so now I have to go google that.....

Mags- how cool you know the movie and love it too. When I saw it come up on HBO that morning, I had to watch it again. They had great screen chemistry. Just a beautiful love story and love the whole time travel thing too. But lord does it make me sob like a baby.....

Hope everyone's day went okay. More pics coming!

Love all the NCIS shows and Ghost Hunters shows. As for books, it varies but I tend to read alot of historical romances, but I do read alot of other stuff. I have gotten into the historical fiction series by Phillipa Gregory. I have quite a few of her books. The last book I read by her only took me two days to read it. Haven't been reading much lately but I think today after I get some things done around the house I'll curl up with a book, just gotta decide which one. Might even pull out a favorite book by Sherrilyn Kenyon, her books are awesome.

camille, i like audiobooks and as of late am into the lone assassin wronged by the CIA, who only kills bad folks!  they are preposterous but grest escape.  I like the Alien movie series with my hero Ellen Ripley because she is an ass kicker.  I want to get a shirt with WWRD, what would ripley do, on it. I try to channel her always in chemo!  Taking on the huge scary killing parasite and all, never giving up, ...sounds too familiar.  I am reading all kinds of things now but have issues concentrating and cannot finish any.

Love the pics everyone---Today is a good day. Bippy can drink coffee!  And it smells good!  No smells make me want to vomit!  Okay so there is a chocolate chip muffin involved. It acts as a buffer so it is required.

Bippy is eating way more processed food than she should, only because nothing else appeals. Going to try to do better today, need some fresh fruit and veg.  In other fantastic news solid bowel movements rock!   Enough said.....

Good morning, Hermies! Yes, I had a wonderful chemo day, and that is not sarcasm, either. Everything went swimmingly, I was done and home in my recliner by 2, and played all afternoon and evening, went to bed at 10, slept until DH woke me before 6 (he always stops by the bed to pray with me and kiss me goodbye) and I got up and made myself a cup of coffee around 6:30 and sitting here ever since. I did have to take a couple of zofran last night but don't have any nausea today. So yay me!

Jazzy, I love the pics, so glad you got to have a good trip to Taos and even a soak.

Mommyof2, welcome to our hermit hole, we have a full range of hermits, Jazzy is the mildest case I think, since she goes and goes, but we get to live vicariously through her, so we never have to leave the recliner but still get the views and news.

Cami & Blondie, glad you're posting, hope you got some sleep, Cami you had a big weekend, didn't you? Teka, big hugs girl.

I think I shall play today. Neulasta shot at 1.

Mags- glad you are through chemo and things went well. I like that your husband stops by to pray with you before bedtime. Very sweet!

Bippy- enjoy that coffee and glad some things are getting better for you now too!

Cami- yes, been a good few months to get things done at home, take some trips, etc. I have some meetings coming up about new work beginning tomorrow. I also have a class that begins tonight and will run six weeks (and give me a certificate at the end for my resume!)

I hope you gave your kitty some attention this morning, LOL!

Got lots to do today and will check in later. Wishing everyone a good Wednesday Nerdy

Yum! Love bisquick drop biscuits, especially with good strawberry jam.

Jazzy, DH prays with me in the morning before he leaves for work. At night? He's asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow! Ha!

Mags- ah, got it. Morning prayers and out the door! Still very sweet.

Teka- yum! That sounds so yummy and probably great on a cool fall day. I am making some steel cut oats right now for breakfast. Like oatmeal as the weather cools and good for cholesterol too.

Ducky- hi and glad to hear you are back. Everything okay with you?

Sally- have you tried steel cut (or otherwise known as irish oats?) Better for you than the processed quaker oats which have less protein. A CNP I worked with years ago told me this is the best kind to eat. I make mine with some raisins and cinnamon and then put a little milk or yogurt with it, along with whatever fruit I have (berries are the best). I don't like to eat them as much in the summer time, but love to eat the oats more as the weather cools.

Mommy- glad you are relaxing. I am working on finishing some delayed unpacking from the home reno project today. Few more things to finish up here in the kitchen and living room areas. I got most of it done in late August, but then sort of stopped putting things back before I was totally done (I was tired from the whole darned month of August!)

Hermits- my class tonight was good and the first of the two instructors is quite the character. Funny as all get out and interesting educational background including business and divinity degrees. In addition to teaching strategic planning, he also has a focus on business ethics and human trafficking. We will have a different guy next week. It's going to be a good course.

Got a bunch of apts tomorrow, personal and for work. Hope everyone sleeps well, including dear blondie.....

The rain has returned to Oregon!  We have had an unusually dry summer, but on Monday, the first day of Fall, our rain came back, and all the plants rejoiced!  We lost a few plants that we had recently planted because I'm not diligent enough to go outside and water them all the time.  Soon it will be time to put the garden to sleep for the winter, but still cranking out tons of tomatoes and tomatillos.
