    Jazzy,

my cancer was well past the surgeon being able to do just a lumpectomy. I have been seeing my oncologist every 3 weeks because of being on targeted therapy. no hormone therapy

Mommy- glad you are getting some longer term targeted therapy and have your MO seeing you often. It is good to be followed by someone for the longer term.

Yeah, even though I am hoping that there will be an end or a longer break from the targeted therapy soon.

thanks Jazzy I will watch it, I would have gone if I lived closer....we shall see how this one works out, usually don't like them, they talk alot of nothing..

    love the pix mags...

I know Jazzy, there is a bus but it would take about 3 hours to get to work from here. He yells at me all the time, "the girl" who has been taking him is taking him again, not me...

    thanks for caring.

Hi hermits- fun class tonight in strategic planning. We have two MBA program instructors that alternate so that keeps it interesting. We did some class exercises tonight which helped me to get to know a couple of my classmates. This is a short class, only 6 weeks so not that much time to get to know folks.

The weather channel is saying we are getting a cold front that may bring us a hard freeze tomorrow night. That is a few weeks early than we normally see, so I must be sure to bring in the house plants and try to cover some of the rest. I will be sad to see my gardens go to sleep for the winter, they have been so nice this year!

Blondie- let the girl take him. No more Driving Mr. Daisy.....

Got a meeting in the am and lots of other stuff to do so off to bed shortly. Hope all my hermits had an okay day and will rest well tonight.

Hi hermits!  Well, made it past Hump Day.  I go tomorrow for my mammogram - 1st one since dx last year.  I'm not really nervous or anything, but it's bringing back lots of memories of stuff I'd rather forget.  Here's hoping for the best tomorrow!  Take care everyone.

started my campaign to get proper treatment and free recon, came home in tears again, I hate seeing my name against the words MASTECTOMIZED in capital letters on all their systems, maybe I am just too sensitive

Hi Ladies=-==puter is screwed up but had to say hello and good luck on anyone who's havingtests

Lily I'm sorry, the first thing I said to my BS was he left me Breastless but that meant he helped me as much as he could. I do see how very traumatic this is for you and I do hope u can get past the stigma of no breasts. I don't think of it that way I just figure it was time. I wish u could see it differently and maybe u will.

Ladies have a good day. Dr stuff today.

Lili- I am glad you are advocating for yourself. It what we must do, but won't say it is easy to do either. I had to do it during treatment myself, and it is exhausting. And I would say you are just not recovered from anything physically or emotionally, because your still in it. I hope your day today is better and keep us posted on what you hear back. Wishing you better days and relief from all this.

Cami- good luck at the doctors, hope everything is okay with your visit and any tests!

Monis- fingers crossed on clear films today!

I have a meeting this morning, then have to stop by the client site to do a few things to be ready for next week. Trying to finish our contracting stuff by tomorrow but have some obstacles to work through today.

    Have a good thursday everyone!

I just got home from taking Rose to the groomer. She's been going to PetSmart for grooming since she was a puppy, and this is her first groom since my dx, and boy was she ever a mess! A ragmop! But she enjoys a spa day, always gets A+ on behaving! and feels so much better after. This is what she'll look like in a few hours:

That reminds me that my Sheltie is due for a trip to the groomers. Hubby usually sets up the appointments for that. My furbaby is such a good boy for the gal at the groomers who is the only one who takes care of him when he is there. He's been going there since he was a puppy and always looks great! They usually send him home with a little bandana. I've saved every one of them that he has gotten!

  • Mags, Rose is so cute!

Mags- that dog is adorable! Spa day for the pup. Maybe a spa day for you down the road (I went to one after my rads and it was oh so nice....)

    How is everybody doing here?

Crazy busy day today. Went to the client site to prepare to go in next week. Greeted warmly by those in the area of the organization I have worked with and where I feel appreciated. I look forward to going back to work and making some money!

Got thinking today too that I am going to run into some of the unsavory people I dealt with on that last project as I return. Fortunately, I won't be working with them again on this short gig. My goal is to be professional but keep them far, FAR away otherwise. I live by the expression, once someone shows you who they are, believe it.

Just relaxing now. Probably will do some reading a little later before the Packers-Vikings game. So torn over this one because I root for both except when they play each other, then its Packers all the way! Looking for a few Lambeau Leaps tonight since they are playing in the Packers stadium!!!!!!!!!!!!

Teka- I have never been up in one, only a helicopter ride in Hawaii last year. Balloons are too risky for this girl who struggles with fear of heights. But yes, who has taken a ride?

Went for my mammo today.  I was very surprised when I got there to find out they now have 3-D mammos!  Here in little old Hillsboro, OR!  I was given the option of going with the traditional or the 3-D, as I was told insurance companies generally haven't been paying for the 3-D's as of yet.  It would be around $95 out of my pocket if they didn't, so I went ahead and did it.  Given the fact that I've already had BC in one breast and I've had a call back and ultrasound done on my remaining breast in the past, I figured $95 was affordable to give me reassurance/peace of mind with this latest technology.  Now I have to wait until next week to hear results...

Almost made it to the weekend, though I do have to work Saturday morning, boo!  Sounds like everyone's hanging in there.  Hope you all have a great Friday.

hi hermettes!  Been enjoying the pics and posts.

Had a good onco appt yesterday, major shrinkage of affected breast and tumors. They are very happy and so am I!  Next chemo is the 10th and I am feeling good now, so will be getting out and doing things, while I can, till it all comes to an abrupt halt next Friday! Oh well....

I think the probiotics have changed the game for me. I am gonna stay on them. For those that are getting cool, enjoy it. It is a vile sauna here, no relief. I cannot wait for cooler air!

Good Morning ladies............before my son married his "now" wife of almost 25 years she gave him a balloon ride for the 2 of them for his birthday....................several times over the year they made appts. to go up...............first of all......I thought she was nuts (I have a fear of heights too) and not so sure my son was all gung ho about it either........but would never show her that fear......anyway

They tried 3 times that year to go up.....each time they got to the field the ride was cancelled....guy said "too windy".......apparently over so many MPH they ground balloons..............finally on the 4th try and another failure....I said to my son "hey this is a friggin "omen"........get your damn money back and bag that trip...................well "no refunds"........you either wait till they can take you up, or you lose your money.................never went, and lost $300.00...........so much for balloon rides..........

    duckyb1 Member Posts: 9,646

No refund..........that is what I said .............but then again...my DIL was never one to go after things with a vengence like me...........she can't even return stuff when the store is wrong...........I would have been kicking and screaming for my money back.....................4 times...........now that is an omen......LOL......I told my son...............let her keep trying.....you keep your ass out of that balloon..........

Ducky i so agree. I don't mind flying in an airplane but nothing would ever get me on a hot air balloon!

Balloons are most fun to see when they are inflating and you are down on the field. There is something exciting about it that I cannot ever explain to people.

Here is a picture I took at a dawn patrol in 2010 when I had friends visiting for one of the weekends and we all went down to the field one morning in the wee hours to see the launch. You have to get down there by 5:30 a.m. which is why I don't go unless there is company visiting. Suffice it to say, I am NOT a morning person!

Going to sign contracts today to be ready to work next week. But the bigger news is measurements from the personal trainer today!

Since we started four weeks ago, I have lost 3 inches around my waist and 2% off the internal organ body fat we are working to get rid of first. My trainer says this is really good progress. We continue on through October and perhaps beyond. Big progress!
