Teka- stay warm. I heard it is bitterly cold back east.

I out doing some shopping yesterday and could not help but notice the shorts and flip flops being worn by so many. Almost too warm here right now for February. It seems the east coast was mild when we were getting the freezing temps in Dec and Jan, now it's flipped?

Teka- I love the daffodils. I bought some purple tulips at the store tonight, and will find the perfect pot outside for them in the daylight tomorrow! We have a strong feeling of spring here.

I just saw this on FB and thought of you. The poster said the mama was protecting her first and only kitten.

Teka- I have been so busy with work and life and all the rest that goes on this time of the year with biz taxes. I too have been a hermit when I am not at my client site.

Who is ready for Spring? Two more weeks to daylight savings time here in the US. I love March for that reason and many others too.

Made some potatoe leek soup today and decided to add a twist with some green chili chicken sausage and a bit of parmesan cheese in the broth. It's cooling and will be lunch in awhile.

Teka- very easy in the crock pot. The sausage gave it a nice flavor and like having protein in my soups!

Teka- I was thinking about her this weekend as I have not heard from her in awhile. That is just terrible news, I know how much she loved her companion. Thanks for letting us know. I will reach out to her.

Jazzy your soup looks inviting. I also use my crockpot for making soup .

I can't wait for daylight savings time to change. I went and bought seeds and potting soil and plan to get everything potted this week

Hi folks- the soup came out well yesterday. I like the more brothy experience than the rich creme type soup. I have to say it came out good and will be great for the week and will freeze some too. I shared some with my neighbor who is not in great health right now, and it is something I can do for her.

Lookingforward- I too am excited about daylight savings time. I love when the evening comes back. We are continuing to see things sprout out of the ground and more things starting to slowly bloom. The fruit trees will be doing their thing soon.

Do you know about the gardening thread?

Jazzy I have enjoyed gardening since my early twenties. Here's a couple of pictures from last year. I wouldn't mind volunteering with some community gardens. I plan on checking out the gardening thread.imageimage

The apple orchards here are worried about the apple crops should we get a sudden cold snap. But hopefully that won't happen.
