have we ever figured out who really belongs to that horrible thing?

  • spookiesmom
    spookiesmom Member Posts: 8,178

No, and probably won't. There is major $$$$$ in Ft Meyers, I was just guessing who it belongs to. It is a revolting, stomach turning display of too much $, time on hands(can we all afford Saks?) pink.

There is one here its just pink and nothing to do with BC but it is still trashy - well I think it is.

Hi folks, this thread is quiet till October nears, but I know there are those that keep it in their Favs.

Been thinking------always sumpin eh? Thinking of a sister that still reads, but doesn't post much b/c she's too weak. She's in the stage 4 group, but we had worked on one of the threads together along time ago.One of those exciting threads like constipation, but it wasn't that one. I don't want to invade her privacy, so, I won't use her name.

Then I started thinking of the Warm & Fuzzy Owls Kitties and Funny Stuff thread.

At first, it was simply a place to keep things that made us happy that we didn't want to loose over time as the pages turn.

Now maybe something different. When our minds are so heavy, reading complex things can be a chore. But what we are posting on W&F's thread is light , fluffy, easy. They can cheer without having to work at the thought too much. Without having to try to keep track of too many words.

So, when you post something here or on one of your other threads, that's a picture, saying that we all get as BC 'ers. Please, post it there too. Keep it simple i.e. few words.

There are several serenity type threads like Foley's pictorial venues. I'm sure there are more that I'm not aware of.

If anyone thinks this has value, we could ask the others to do transporter links in the topic boxes that would make it even easier for those that need it.

Link to warm and fuzzy owls, kitten, dogs, goats, and other things thread.

Hope, I'm making sense :) sassy

I'm doing OK. I have some issues with my medications, but we're trying to get those straightened around. I will be glad when the weather warms up and these bones of mine can finally get warm. I am so over this winter. Sigh

    HAPPY MONDAY!

Hi, popping in. I was posting with another member. I thought sharing the below information may be helpful to you Winking.

The link www.needymeds.org is to a web site started by a Social Worker and a doc. It is a tricky site to use. The first page leads to a several hundred resource pages. But I think this first page, does not project the wealth that lies beneath. Be patient when following the links within the site. There are sections that are disease and drug specific. The specific page then links to lists of organizations that provide monetary or other types of assistance.

Register first and do the request for assistances form. Reason: the request for assistance form is filed. If you apply to 1 or 20 organizations/companies, the forms don't need to be repeatedly filled out.  The system is designed to pull information from the original form. There may be a few particulars that need to be added to a companies/organizations form.

All the pharmaceutical companies have patient assistance programs. All the drug manufactures are listed there

The other way to reach drug manufactures is 1. call the manufactuer patient assistance number(goolge keywords: drug name and manufacturer, then to webpage>>>patient assistance. Very time consuming.

There is so much more on www.needymeds.org. It took a bit of time to wander through the whole site. I've shared a telephone walk through with many friends and relatives. I even called healthcare facilities to tell them about this link.

For completeness, there are many ways to get financial assistance for whatever you need. There are organizations that will do things for you i.e volunteers that buy groceries, drive, install handrails, build wheelchair ramps.

How to find the info besides from the link above?  FIND the SOCIAL WORKER(SW).  It's there job to know these things :)  Talk to all of the following 1. cancer center SW,  2.hospital SW, 3. Insurance companies SW, 4. County SW. 5. church outreach leader.

I requested from my insurance carrier, a consult with a SW. That one appointment with the insurance carrier Social Worker, led to grants totaling $10,550. The meeting with the cancer centers SW, led to coverage of neulasta  for $4000.00.

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. I want to find something really anti-pink for Facebook.  I've already seen the Oct 13th save the tatas go bra-less day on there.  **gag**

I've always hated the hype and the football games with pink. I like the tee-shirts above, they are NOT too blunt.

I also saw I shirt that said "YES they are fake the real ones tried to kill me".

I hate the Oncodx number, false sense of security if number is low and terror if the number is high. Since when has a number been a curse, I guess high blood pressure, cholestrol, and tumor markers instill a sense of fear.  I can't change my Oncodx number, but I can do things other than harsh chemical treatment to lower my risks.

Exercize cured my blood pressure and cholestrol numbers I was lucky I didn't have to take drugs for them. Maybe it can lower my risk of cancer reoccurence.

All I have to say is "Pink is not the glamorous stuff you see on t.v." Why don't they show the lopsided breasts or the flat chest where their use to be breasts. Show the scars, show the hair falling out, the port or pick lines, show the red devil going in, show the lack of energy, the lack of appetite, the nausea, ect....I could go on and on. They show these beautiful women who are happy go lucky...Really? I haven't felt like the breast cancer commercials show, not one time. Like I said,

"Pink is not the glamorous stuff you see on T.V."

find a print shop with clip art.

Then picture a little black cloud over the stick figures head. But what color for the shirt?
