Shari, that's so great!!! You are almost there my girlfriend!!! You're doing great :-D

Juneau, you look fantastic. I'm going to look into that livestrong but as I'm in a very small community I doubt there will be one.

Websister, I'm sorry for your mammogram flashback but so happy for your outcome!! I have a feeling we'll all see some of that in our future. It's so hard to know what to do, always second guessing!! (((Hugs)))

JenniferJ, you are the epitome of determination and perseverance!! I'm doing a ten day cleanse with my soon to be 19 year old daughter (who put on her freshman 15 at school this year) and hope to jump start my weight loss and healthy eating habits. Thanks so much for your info and tips! (((hugs)))

Mom of 3, so glad they're keeping a close eye on DD! (((More hugs)))

    Love and hugs to all💗

There isn't a Livestrong in Canada. The Casting for results has a canadian site .. It,is very outdated but I did register so will see, what happens.

Some of the YM/YWCA have Canwell programs but you have to join the Y to participate.

I just got an email response from the Canadian version of Casting for Recovery and it was from Kathryn Marcoun, from the TV show 'What a Catch'.

According to the Casting for Recovery website, which is a bit out of date,  she is/was recovering from tick-bourne illness.

Wouldn't that be something if it's still running and we all got chosen!

Shianne29 - I was told that the YMCA/YWCA participates in the Live Strong program here in TX and intend to check it out today!  Hope U have a Center close to U and can find some help thru them.  All the best to U and all of my fellow Sister Warriors on this site.  Peace y'all!

Just wanted to stop in and say hi. Been a bit MIA to posting, but been reading. Life has felt VERY busy and hectic - between work, end of school-year things with my boys, and lots of appts for me. Last Friday was my 1-year anniversary of diagnosis. Been mostly ok. A bit of a weepy mess - moved to tears by little things (like picking out a father's day card for my dad - who was a tremendous support over this past year; and thinking about my older son's pre-k graduation coming up next week, oh boy...). So glad to hear many of you have been getting good results. I started PT finally for my stiff, achey, tingly arm. So far the stretches and massages feel great. We'll see what effect they have. Herceptin day today for me so a bit tired. But otherwise - can't complain. Having a happy to be alive kind of day today. Sometimes it hits me that I could very well not have been here enjoy things like my son's pre-k graduation next week. Thank goodness for modern medicine! Anyhoo - I'm obviously rambling as I procrastinate from my work task at hand. Always thinking of you all and hoping you're finding your happy!!!

Wonderful post ramols... you always find the right thing to say.

Isn't busy life wonderful !   I was at work today bitching about a so called process and I stopped myself in my tracks and thought 'brilliant.... I must be getting better - I'm not bitching about cancer'.  Laughing

Hugs and love to you all xxxxx

Tazzy/Ramols; yes... In Recovery we call these "luxury problems". So nice to be back to those.

Speaking of luxury problems... 2nd septic inspection on my house with camera run into seepage pits went swimmingly and we are back on track to buy our house!!! It took 45 mins. He dug open the septic. Looked good. Then ran the cameras looked good. We were done. I'm going to ask for reimbursement from the first guy. No idea what the fuck he was doing!

Re: livestrong. It is a program that is trademarked and only runs in Y's. there are similar programs sometimes in other fitness centers, but wouldn't be called Livestrong.

Re: CFR. you can only participate in the state where you reside. So shianne, we couldn't all do it together.

Ok just wanted to share the news. Better get moving and get to work. Damn rain slows everyone down.

Have a great day loaded only with luxury problems.

Juneaubugg, love the term "luxury problems". I'm still in the "oh gosh I have cancer phase" even though I should be moving far away from that. Just now running into people that are outside of my work and immediate friends so it's like starting all over. But it certainly has been less time consuming since all active treatment is done. Just swallowing a pill. Hoping soon the day will come when the word cancer doesn't creep into my thoughts. Getting the feeling that may never happen. Oh well maybe that will become my luxury problem.

Oh Juneau, I am so sincerely happy for you about your house, and I hope nothing happens to prevent you from having it. You can now start browsing the Houzz website, and dream . . . ENJOY!!!

Ramols, so glad you are doing so well with Herceptin and all. You just always bounce back, and find your happy, no matter what. A great example!

kkuziel, the day will come when you will no longer have ca forming the backdrop of your life against which everything else plays off. For me bc has been dropping from the radar gradually as I could do more and more of the normal things I did before bc , as my hair grew back, and as I moved away from being and looking like a ca patient. I just wanted to get away from that ca patient mindset as soon as possible. Exercise played a big role in this. As I became physically strong again, the mind and emotions followed - it is just weird and wonderful how everything is interconnected. Most of the time now bc is just a faint blip hovering on the outer edge of my radar circle. It will never drop off completely, and may feature larger now and then with check-ups and mammograms of the breast I have left, but for the most my life is back to 'normal', whatever that may mean. I am happy, healthy and enjoying/appreciating life more than before every day, because I've been given a second chance for which I am so grateful. Best wishes to you!

Scorchy's petiton has forced Facebook to 'revise' its guidlines with regards to pictures of mastectomy patients, both men and women, who were part of a Facebook page called 'the Scar project.'

Facebook has realized the importance of "sharing photos can raise awareness about Breast Cancer and support the men and women facing diagnosis, undergoing treatment or living with the scars of cancer."

    Well done!

Juneau - congrats on the good house report!!!!! We are actually closing on our vacation house on Monday morning. It was a long process, but I am so excited to have the house. It is rented all summer, but we will have lots of time to enjoy it for years to come.

On a sadder note, a friend of mine was just diagnosed with lymphoma and starts chemo next week. I hate cancer!!!!!!!! The bright spot in this is that I now get to pay it forward and be there to help her through it all. She was there for me and now I can be there for her.
