Hartrish: Yes she is taking anti acid like PPIs. Last two times she did not have anything for Nausea and vomiting. But from this time I am going to suggest her your trick, even if she feel or not, I am going to get her nausea meds. I really hope the pain under her rib cage is just the cancer cells dying. Right now, she is in a good state of her mind as she is prepping my younger brother’s engagement right after two weeks :) staying happy and cheerful can affect the whole health! Haven’t seen her this happy for long. I always pray to Allah SWT so that everyone’s happiness sustain this way forever.

Hartrish, I am waiting to know your scan result. Wishing you best!

Anyone on here who has exceeded expectations and lived beyond the 3 years that us Metastatic TNBC are given as a life expectancy?

Im in Australia and unfortunately we dont have access to some of the drugs and trials you guys get.

Sharjin: She had completed 3 cycles of Halaven. This chemo creates lot of constipation for initial few days. But she is better now. We will visit MO next week for evaluation and examination.

My CT scan results this week were very disappointing. After almost 4 cycles (2 weeks on, one off) I have nothing but progression in all the afflicted chest lymph nodes. No improvement or stability anywhere. Back to trying to get on the IMMU-132 trial. I'm getting very concerned. Why is nothing working? So far since the Stage IV diagnosis I've gone through Xeloda and Gemzar/carbo with no measurable improvement. I'm starting to lose hope.

minxie: have you had a recent biopsy with genomic testing? Maybe there is a mutation they can use a target drug for. Can they give you immu 132 without the trial since you have received at least two previous treatments under the right to try bill? Also, What about a PARP drug, are you a candidate to try a PARP drug? Just some thoughts.

Praying you find a drug that works soon.

Minxie, did you respond well to Taxanes? If so, Abraxane can be an option. And there are Navelbine or Halaven too. I agree with Hartrish. If you have any genomic testing done then it would be easier to know which chemo will be suitable for you. And the immunotherapy is the best thing if you respond well because immunotherapy with chemo produces good response. I really hope you can get into suitable trial ASAP. Love and prayers for you.

I had the Foundation One testing, all it found was two mutations that there are no current treatments for. I did ACT chemo 8 years ago when I was still Stage 2 so I'm assuming the Taxol part didn't work. We are looking into Keytruda as well. I have to find someyjing that works!

had my MRI Abdomen and CT chest scan today. Waiting for the results is so hard. Hoping my liver lesions are decreased or stable and no new lesions.

Please pray for me for good results. Thank you.

I've been lurking here off and on. I've had very good luck with Abraxane, rads and now Xeloda. So far, am holding stable with bone mets. Some days I feel like I live on the edge of a cliff (like Mr. Magoo) off of which I could fall at any moment. But holding my own so far.

My mom is so tired with the Second infusion of Gemzer in every cycle. She feels extreme fatigue, nausea, headache, dehydrated, low blood count and what not. It Makes me scared to see this level of lethargy. She is responding well to the chemo and I really hope she can continue this Carbo Gemzer for long. Prayers much needed.

I started Keytruda & Halaven (Pembro & Eribulin) on Wed. On Thursday started feeling achy and didn't sleep well. Friday & Sat flu like symptoms with aches, fever of 100, headache and fatigue; also didn't sleep great. Today, Sunday, I woke up after a better sleep and am less achy. I have had more discomfort over my right rib cage since Thursday (hoping those nasty cancer cells are dying). I'm worried about taking ibuprofen, but the tylenol didn't touch my general aches and flu like symptoms. So, since I don't want my kids to remember me as the mean, grouchy mom with cancer, I went ahead and took the ibuprofen.

    Next dose Wed.

winning: glad xeloda is working for you. Looks like you were on Abraxane since 2014. That was a long run on a single drug if so. Wonderful. Wishing you the best on xeloda

sharjin: I wonder if they could adjust your mom’s dose? Gemzar can be hard on the cell counts. Did she stay on the nausea meds for a couple of days this time? Does she have more than one nausea medication she can alternate with? Hope she feels better soon.

KPW3: I know others ran a fever with halaven. I have pain in my liver area. Use to worry me that the cancer was growing but since my MRIs have been good I attribute pain to dying cancer cells. Also I think the carbo and Gemzar irritates my liver. I have more pain now with good MRIs. I had no pain at the beginning when I had diffuse liver cancer. Go figure

    Dear hartrish:

I was on Abraxane for about two cycles as I remember. I can't even remember how many weeks that is. Anyway, by that time I was NED and sick of Abraxane. I lobbied to get off Abraxane and the onc finally agreed and put me on Xeloda. Much better quality of life on Xeloda! The onc thinks I should stay on Xeloda as long as I'm stable and I guess I'm in agreement with that. I would guess that if/when the cancer progresses I'll go back on Abraxane.

The onc also says that when there is a progression, we'll biopsy it and see if the cancer has changed. I did have a bone biopsy a few months ago and voila! no cancer in the biopsy. Go figure.

Triple Negative in Colorado, are there any others? Trying to get surgery scheduled for the 29th of this month for removal of both breasts & I've decided to go flat. Oncologist said at this point she does not know if chemo will be needed, won't know until surgery is over. If chemo is needed she said 5 months, twice a week for the 1st 2 months, then once a week for the last 3 months. OMG!!! Trying really really hard to stay strong, stay focused and stay positive. Some minutes are easier than others.

luuc: sorry you are going through TNBC. Did your ONC tell which chemo agents she will treat you with? I also did bilateral mastectomy but with DIEP reconstruction a little over 3 years ago. We are here to support you. Once they do the surgery they will have a better idea if you need chemo or not. Hugs and prayers your way.

Hartrish, she was on nausea Med for a couple of days this time. we will talk about changing the nausea med to any of the setrons next week. I think different class of drugs may help. And yes she becomes more weak after the second infusion of Gemzer. I will talk to doctor and see if it’s ok for her now to get a lower dose of that. Thank you for the advice Hartrish!

here is an article that was posted thru this site. https://www.breastcancer.org/research-news/carboplatin-better-for-adv-triple-neg-w-brca

I have been on carbo and Gemzar for 10 months with a great response. I have the PALB2 gene mutation which is suppose to be in the brac1 and 2 fam8y. I dont have BRAC 1 or 2 mutations.

Thought the article might be of interest to someone.

Prayers going up for all my TNBC sisters
