Ahh, can't leave for a minute can I! I know you're just teasing, ldesim, but you always get a laugh out of clapping with glee!

Colin did ask me how long I thought it might be before I would have those cupboards filled again. I have to say, a lot of it is indirectly the fault of our Bobo. Had she not forced me into buying the best little appliance ever, the Vitamix, I would still be hanging on to a gazillion kitchen appliances. Same with the Air Fryer, I got rid of a lot of frying paraphanalia that I will never need again

I remember your trip to get the drains out, it was such a terrible tragic day, I remember how determined to get those suckers out too! Who would have thought you'd end up being so close to that! The news had broken while you were still out and we were waiting to hear how you'd gotten on. I can't believe that was a whole year ago. M x

Hi gB, have to smile at all of us giving out the "Take it easy" advice to Js! I seem to remember we were threatening to come and tie you up to make you stop overdoing it! LOL

I can still see the photo, it hasn't been taken down, but I remember that some had problems seeing pictures before. I am not sure what the reason was.

How is Ebay going? M x

Ah jsj, now I see the photo.  It is swollen, but my guess is that is fluid that the drains will help remove.  Yeah, probably not a good idea to put your arms up like that. Your stitches look great, your scars should be nice and clean.

I was totally bound in an ace bandage for 3 days post op.  My sx was Aug 13 and my bs had written on the tape, "Please do not remove until 08/16", so I never saw myself until day 3. And then I was bound all the time except for showers for a couple of weeks.  I think that really helped me not have much swelling at all.  But as we all know, every bs/ps has their own way of doing things.

This is me 2 hours post sx. I had SNB on the right side that is the swelling that shows over the bandage. Man did it take a while to get the markings off!

I never took a pic of mine.. too busy playing around with the room service menu.

I remember you telling us you had a do not open note lol.

M, Bobogirl can be rather forceful... Alex and Ani should have paid her a salary for all the bracelets she sold.

Hi gB, I remember you had that "Do Not Remove" note too! I remember having a swelling like yours for the SNB, ouch! That SNB and the drains were the most uncomfortable things.

Can't believe how willing we are to share these pics, when I bet none of us would have dared put up a topless shot before.

Hahahah ldesim, I wish I had, had a room service menu. I was trying to force down a stale sandwich that nearly choked me from the dry throat after the breathing tube, but I was so ravenous, I just kept trying to get it down! It was very unattractive!

I know, so true! I love those Alex and Ani bracelets that my BFF sent to me! I wear them all the time.Winking

Here I go, into the dressing room to look for more stuff to get rid of! Take it easy ladies....M x

    Hi all,

I have been reading but not posting. Overwhelm has hit and I am in a funk. THAT is why I told myself to speak up, as I know how many of us sneak off to suck our thumbs when we need comfort or at least to say something about the state of one's biochemical mess!

Good news. I guess. My "good" breast shows no signs of trouble on a breast MRI. Given how many women with ILC have had prophylactic mastectomies on their "good" breast, only to find cancer in path reports...,I was kinda hoping for something minor so I could get it over with. Yay. Darn.

Yay. Darn. That says it all. I am in a mixed state these days. Grateful but draggy, kinda low mood when alone. I hope it is not the generic Femara. Already gave up on generic Arimidex after a four day migraine, loud heart beats in one ear and visual shadows like one windshield wiper also moving to my heartbeat. That and a resting heart rate of 45. I should be so pleased. If I were a young, fit, buff athlete, I surely would!  But, alas, I am an obese (but awfully cute!) 65 year old.

I am so pleased for JSJ!  It is great to get to go home. And, yeah, why is it so difficult to do nothing but eat peeled grapes. So many of us got into minor trouble. I had to keep drains in for two weeks and my BS allowed NO showers until drains were out. My fluids kept coming. My BS couldn't understand it. Neither could I. Afterall, I kept my arm in a sling, EXCEPT WHEN I DID MY POST SURGERY EXERCISES.

My BS dropped her jaw and told me I was supposed to do those ONLY AFTER the tube was removed!  So much for trying to be good. Anyway, JSJ, DO try and be good. And let people take cre of stuff for you.

Dawny, I sure hope your scan turns out well. Soooo hard to wait.

Ariom, always so fun to read what you are up to. Hope your daughter gets to visit and is well.

I saw my daughter in action as an ESL kindergarten teacher last month in Memphis, Tennessee. My favorite parts were when she would tell a student with glee, "Excellent thinking! Kiss your brain!" And the student would kiss their finger tips and then touch the top of their heads.

    Ok, all. Kiss your brains.

Ok Holly, kissed my brain! I love that, your Daughter sounds like a natural for that job, the kids are so lucky to have her! They will learn so much more from such a wonderful girl, who interacts so well.

I am so sorry you're in a Funk, I sure hope it passes soon. Your weather should be picking up and Spring will have sprung! Hopefully that will give you a boost.

Those Se's sound really creepy, I hate having to take anything, I am the poster girl for the Se's. It is rare that I can take anything without feeling weird. I hope if that is what it is, your body adjusts and you feel better.

The rules for post surgery are so different over here. I had my first shower in the Hospital, the morning after surgery, just before I went home. My lovely young nurse was  so sweet, she wanted to come in with me, while I took my shower, I told her I was fine, she asked again, said she'd turn to the wall if I wanted her to. I couldn't understand why she was so insistent, so she told me that most ladies cry when they are in the shower after a Mx, and she didn't want me to have to do it alone!  How sweet was that, she has the same beautiful soul as your daughter!

I didn't cry, I was too busy doing the happy dance that it was over and I was going home! I must say Colin and I had a bit of a blubber of pure joy together in the car, in the car park and then another in the same car park, after my final Path report!

I had a visit before I left the Hospital from the PT who gave me the sheet to follow, and taught me the exercises that I was to do with the drain in, and went through the ones to do when the drain was out (arms up over head). They remove the drains when the output is below 50ml here and they are really strict about doing those damn exercises 4 x a day!

I had a nurse come every day to check my incision and strip the drain. I discovered that the output was more, if I was moving about a lot, so I would try not to overdo it, so I could get the drain pulled. I can't remember, I think it was 6 days and I got that sucker out. It was the bane of my existence, that awful thing. I only had one, but it was huge and on the longest tube you've ever seen. I actually became really lazy with it and would drag it behind me, if I was going to the kitchen for something. I usually carried it in a cloth shoulder bag, but I managed to scare the crap out of our Postie Delivery man, Barry, who came in to deliver something while I had it draped on the floor, poor man didn't know where to look and I couldn't reel it in fast enough to hide it. LOL It was very weird. coming out, the Nurse almost had a foot up on the bed to get it to move. When it finally came out it was a squarish tube, in a round hole. I was so pleased to see the end of that thing.

Well, I have to get back into it, so I will sign off again, but I bet I will be having another chocolate break soon, just for the energy it gives me, to keep going....you understand!  yeah right!! LOL

Thanks for all of the good wishes, I am going to have a lovely nights sleep tonight.  After some champagne, of course.  And chocolate.

Holly, love kiss your brain, gonna tell my Dil who is a reading teacher, she just loves her job but gets so upset at parents at times, when they either do too little or not enough for their little ones trying to learn. Hope you get feeling better soon.

Well guess what? As I said earlier we are in WI and now there is a winter storm watch in effect here, and it is chilly at home but at least no snow or rain, boy winter just won't lose it's grip, saw even way down south temps are very cold. Ariom, think I shall move to Austrailia!

Well, I spoke to Bec,  she seems to have willed that virus away and she is excited about coming here tomorrow. Yay! She finishes work at lunch time and catches the train at 1.30, I will pick her up at 5.30, I can't wait to see her!  M x

    Dawn, Congratulations! Definitely celebrate.

Ariom, How cold does it get there in the winter? I understand about the winds; they drop anything another few degrees. FIL compared temps and wind between Anchorage and Oklahoma and decided Oklahoma was quite likely colder. The line in America the Beautiful "the wind comes sweeping down the plains" is literal.

Holly, I love the kiss your brain too.  What a great way to encourage the little ones!!

Ariom Yay that Bec is well and almost on her way!!  You two are going to have such a great time!!

Temps are mild low 50's°F here, cloudy and periods of heavy winds. Still kind of gloomy here. Some nice sunny days all strung in a row would help a lot!

    Wren, how is Goldie doing?

Morning all! Just got up and got a message from Bec "Just dyed my hair especially for my visit, It is glam RED!" hmm, maybe a red that couldn't be worn at work? LOL

Another message..."Just ordered your Krispy Creme Donuts!" Mmmmm, I am a bad girl! I only have them once or twice a year! Lucky you can't buy them here!

Wren, we are just over an hour from the snow fields, but we don't get snow here. We can see the mountains. It gets down to around 1c or single figures, but the biting winds off the sea are enough to take your breath away. We only have the dunes between us and the open ocean which go straight to Tasmania which is the wicked, dangerous waters of Bass Straight, that the Sydney to Hobart race is sailed in.

Hi gB! yep, I am hoping it is a really fine week or so, we rarely bicker any more, I think we have both matured! LOL

Hiya Bobo, how you doing sweet heart?

You know, I've never had a Krispy Creme donut and I think there is one or two in my state, I know of their reputation tho.

I am assuming glam red means very bright neonish red?  Should be interesting to hear about this one :)

I got some really cute all cotton sundresses for $7.99! I got a couple of blouses, a pitcher with tea infusion for my mother who loves iced tea.  I got a bunch of crap for organizing the closet and some kitchen gadgets to clutter the drawers.

You guys have to see this little video.. the stewardess is hysterical!

ldesim, I am not sure about the neon red, I doubt it, because she works in a government office, but it may be a red rinse that will tone down before sh has to return to work, who knows!

I have this fabulous Flight Attendant on my Facebook page, I thought after 11 years with an American airline, I had seen everything........ but nope!

Your shopping sounds fabulous, $7.99 dresses, that's a bargain. Nore stuff to clutter the kitchen drawers, I like that!

I have found a new label, that is in would you believe, in one of our major supermarkets. It has all kinds of clothing but I have been buying their crops and camis and some great zip front active wear jackets. I know, I know, but they are in my favorite cotton and elastane fabric and the colors are great and they are on sale too! 2 crops for $6.00 2 jackets for $10.00 I can't help it! and they post for free, what's not to love about that?

Good morning ladies! I hope y'all have an amazing, happy and healthy day! I love the bargains that were found. :) M~ so excited that you are so close to seeing your sweet Bec. I know that you will have an amazing visit. I want to thank you all again for the love and support and for being in the bag for me this week. I am doing amazingly well, still needing pain pills, but it is tolerable. I still have the sharp burning pains under my arms if I move them just right or do something I really shouldn't do LOL. Of course, I would never do anything that I wasn't supposed to..Dawny~ I am so pleased that your results were good. Grammab~ hope the weather holds up there and that spring is truly on the way. Idesim, Krispy Cremes are over rated in my opinion, but... I grew up in a donut shop so I tend to be a bit picky and prejudice. They are good when they are hot off the glazer though. Holly~ I love your daughters attitude towards teaching. She sounds like an amazing young lady. I am trying to be good and do as told, but having a caretaker heart, it is difficult :). Sailman has been doing amazing at taking care of me. He even put up with my mother being over here trying to help. ROLFMAO She can be a bit overbearing and difficult, but does so with love, so you just have to kinda brush her off and not pay attention to her. But sometimes, biting your tongue can be hard. My drains are driving me nuts, but eh, what can you do? One of them is almost ready to come out but the other three are still draining pretty good. I went for a walk around the block yesterday and hoping to do two blocks today. Sailman says he is amazed at how well I am doing and really hasn't had to fuss at me... too much.

WinkingThought for the day.."Friends are angels who lift us up when our own wings have trouble remembering how to fly" Thank you all for being my angels Hugggz

Oh my goodness! you are just rocketing along!

I am so pleased for you. How are you feeling? are you getting lots of rest?

I am so glad that the thought of us all in the bag, was a comfort to you. It is a wonderful group!

My poor Bec had a terrible time getting here yesterday. She got caught up at work, had to run for the train, discovered part of the journey had been replaced by a bus, got to the station for the rest of the journey, had a 1 hr wait on board the train, no cafe car till the train was in motion, so didn't get lunch till 4pm and arrived here over an hour late!

I hate driving at night in the country, I am scared of Kangaroos and other wildlife that cross the highway and since having a cataract and laser on one eye, I have a "Halo" around oncoming lights that makes driving difficult. Fortunately, there was lots of traffic coming to town, so I had was in a stream of cars which made it much easier.

Krispy Kreme donuts were introduced to me in Chicago many years ago, so when they came to Aus I used to buy them in Sydney and bring a box back to Melbourne for friends. It became a bit of a ritual, so now Bec will bring them once or twice a year as a gift for me. My actual, all time fave, that I can't buy here, is Aunty Anne's Pretzels, OMG, I love those things and will go nuts, every time I find one when I am in the US or Singapore. Sad really, isn't it? LOL

It is 10am and Bec is still sleeping, I am trying to silence Dex, but there are tourists and their dogs passing our front fence and he has to shout at them to move along! I have a water pistol out and I am showing it to him, that's all I need to do, because he hates getting sprayed!

Anyway, I will check back later, we will be setting up with the neighbors for tomorrow, this afternoon. Take care...M x

Ariom, Sounds like lots of fun lies ahead. Sorry Bec had such a hectic journey.

Today was rainy and chilly, generally pretty miserable. At dinner, I commented that I was seeing a strange green light in our neighbor's tree. It was a rainbow that looked like it started a block or two away and was only a couple of houses from ours. Just beautiful. I'd never seen one up close before. It was a double but the second one was pretty faint.

Goldie has settled in. She sleeps by my feet at night. About 6am she crawls under the covers between us and stays until we get up.

Tonight at the shelter there were 6 cats on this really vile medicine. I guess it tastes awful and they have to drink a lot of it. I'm doing the sick cats tomorrow, also, and I may take in my rose gloves for protection.

Hi all...haven't been commenting since I've been in a worried mode.  I've been having IBS type symptoms...the same I had before my endometrial cancer diagnosis 3 years ago.  Went in yesterday for a 3 month checkup to my BC oncologist and she said if it doesn't calm down in a couple of weeks to go see my gyno/onc.  Geez... 2 oncologists, how did I get so lucky?

I have been wearing my foob quite regularly and am somewhat amazed at how good it feels.  What a difference a good bra makes!  I had tried 2 that were so-so, but finally found one that is more my style and fits well.  My surgery was 2 months ago yesterday, and I am really amazed at how I don't miss my boob!  lol   Encouraging words for JSL and anyone else in recent surgery.  Also, I was just thinking...I never had the electrical zaps you all talk about, but I am still sore on my side where the drain was.  Damn drains!  And in the morning I do feel like there's a buildup of fluid under my arm, but it doesn't cause any problems.  My LE is mild and I haven't even been wearing my glove.  I sometimes wonder if the bloated IBS feelings I am having are a form of truncal LE.  I would much rather have truncal LE than a recurrence of endo cancer.

Last week-end I raked  for 2 solid hours.  I kept thinking.. "oh no.. I'm going to get the claw!".. but nothing.  I guess I am very lucky when it comes to that.  Looking forward to leaving town for a couple of days to go visit my sister for Easter... leaving in 15 minutes actually.  I realized I haven't been anywhere since Thanksgiving and it will be good just to get away.

Guess that's about it.  I still read this thread everyday and love to hear your stories.  M - that "afraid to hit a kangaroo" statement just cracked me up.  Here in Michigan, we have to worry about deer.  They are very quick and can bolt out of nowhere. but I simply can't imagine a big ol' jumping kangaroo flying at me.  LOL

Oh last thing.. I got the script for the Armidex.  She wants me to at least try it.  Yeah ok.. maybe.  Chance of recurrence is 5% with it, 14% without.  I always research things to death, but for some reason, I haven't on this stuff....I already know it's bad news!  lol

OK.. I'm outta here.   Hi to everyone and have a good week-end.  We will be hunting for Easter eggs and eating lots of bad stuff.... yum!

Hi all, it is 5.30am on yard sale day. I am up and it is still dark. I put the ad in the paper for 9am but already had a dealer here sniffing around yesterday. There is so much stuff, even my neighbors who are combining their stuff couldn't believe it, and they haven't even seen the stuff that hasn't come out of the house yet!

PRB, so wonderful to see you and to hear how well you are doing. No claw, that's a bonus! I had a bit of the claw this week from all the lifting for this yard sale, and that's after 15 months! I am sorry about the other stomach issues though. I hope they turn out to be nothing.

I don't miss my boob either! Funny that, isn't it? Don't mind the scars and don't even notice a foob any more.

My SIL hit a massive Deer when she came to visit a while ago, it wrote off the car, but she and her son were ok. The Roos here are the same as Deer, they cross the road to get to water. Some are enormous, I hit one once when I first started driving and it scared the life out of me. I never want to do that again.

    Have a wonderful Easter break!

Happy Easter Weekend!  Another beautiful day. Taking kids to an egg drop by local fire dept. Will have to report back. I don't know how it works.

Day at the races was fun. Didn't get home until 8! Was tired but ate brownies and cake to keep my strength up. No coffee or tea served at lunch. Pink lemonade and a box lunch. My horse didn't win but my friends did.

Somebody needs to catch the funk and bury him. I am running out of excuses and patience. Don't want to up anti depressant. My diet sucks (see above paragraph). I don't know what else to change.

Livestrong ended this week. Going to start cancer yoga on Monday and stop at Y for exercise on the way home. Will get to hang with my friends for another month or so.

    Congrats Dawny!

Hello and Happy Easter to everyone. A beautiful day today, supposed to hit 65!

Ariom is. Use with garage sale and enjoying Bec, hope you sold it all!

PRB, nice to hear from you, raking for  two hours, good for you also glad to hear you are doing ok with the foob, always helps. I have been on arimidex almost a year and tolerate it ok, no big side effects, at first it seemed like about one day a week I would just crash, but still not sure if it was from med or just overdoing too quickly after surgery. I was so afraid to take it too, but so far so good.

OK girls I need you in the bag for me on Monday, mammo scheduled at 10 am, and see dr at 2pm. I have a bump or lump or something on my rib below where boob was, not sure what is going on, nothing I hope, but I am getting more nervous as time grows closer. There was an old guy in our town that always had the say.ing..."nervous as a whore in church".   Sorry if I offended anyone, but he had some colorful saying that the whole town remembers.  Still enjoying time at sons and family and also the dog and cat!
