JS , great letter and idea, I wish I had thought to do that, you gals are so together , taking pictures before and after...never entered my mind, just wanted surgery over and to get home to heal. I am with you tomorrow, praying for quick recovery. Hugs
We are spending this week with ds and family, well mostly family, he took his wife to the Grand Canyon for her 40 th birthday and we are staying with kids, having fun tho, ds will return Thursday.
Hello to all, I am not hiding just busy, you gals are the only support group for me, we live in too remote area, this has been a real blessing and lifesaver for me. Will catch up later.

Ladies, I already put you all in the bag to go with me in the morning! It is a lovely yellow flowered bag that has all of my "comforts" in it. My sweater, my afghan my mother in law made me, and y'all . Sailman will try to get on tomorrow and let you know how it went. If he isn't able to, we will try to get on tomorrow evening when I am settled in the room. I agree with ND... you girls are my support group and all that I need. I love you all so much and will see you on the other side.. ((huggz))

Beautiful letter jsj! I too am sending prayers that you have an easy uneventful sx and heal quickly.
I didn't write a letter, but my DD did take before photos and after photos while she was here and I continued weekly for a couple of months, then monthly to 6 months. Probably won't take any more until a year.
Looking forward to hearing from you on the other side. (((hugs)))

Jsj, great letter! I am withe you tomorrow also, see you on the other side!
Tomorrow I have scans. To fight scanxiety today I cycled to the tennis courts with my kids, played tennis and cycled back. I made a cake, had some retail therapy, made dinner, had a couple of glasses of wine, played a board game, folded washing, brushed the dog.... Now I still have 2-3 hours before bed. I think I will have to eat the Easter eggs I have bought for family, lol! Hopefully that will get me through to an Ativan before bed.
Thinking of you all
Dawn. Xx

In the bag for both. Glad there's a time difference so we can both places. You do know we get rowdy sometimes.
Bobo and Idesim argue over who spilled the beer, M gives them the evil eye, ND brings cookies. I usually sleep and drool but have had coffee today. Will probably talk somebody's leg off.

Jsj, fantastic news, now rest!
Thanks everyone for the good wishes for today. I have hardly slept, feel like a wreck, have to start drinking that awful stuff in a few minutes. Don't know if I can keep it down . I am not sure sure why I am so nervous about these scans, I have had so many now.
Dawn. Xxx

WoooHoooo, Jsj thanks for letting us know, get as much rest as you can, I hope you keep feeling fine, lots and lots of water to get that anesthetic out and start the body working again, if you get what I mean!Hugs to you and Sailman!
Dawn, all the best for today!
Fia, you never fail to bring a smile, what is it that makes kids so poop aware?
Hiya Zills, glad we were in the bag together! What's happening in your world? Finished the planning for your trip? Do the kids know you're going yet?
It is really grey and chilly here today, no sailing this afternoon, it is going to rain and there isn't enough wind. I will be trying to squeeze all the stuff for the yard sale into the garage.
Today, I tackle the linen cupboard. Bed linen is another obsession of mine. I just love a beautifully set up bed, but of course that means lots of pillows and throws, so it doesn't take long to fill even a really huge linen cupboard if, like me, you like to do frequent changes of linen.LOL
Only 2 more sleeps till Bec arrives, I hope, I spoke to her yesterday and she sounds like she is coming down with a cold or flu, so please keep everything crossed that it passes and she can still come.
I hope everyone else is well...hugs M x

Yay, jsj!! Glad to hear from you so soon!! Now is the time to rest and hydrate as much as possible. You're going to do just fine! (((gentle hugs)))
Dawn, sending you calming energy. Hope all goes well with the scan.
Fia, that is just too funny!! Rasin poop!! I'm with you on the being distant from all the conveniences. I would rather have to make a long drive and have peace and quiet at home.
Ariom, I sure hope Bec gets to come on schedule! Crossing my fingers she doesn't get sick. I'm sure you both will be disappointed if she has to delay.

Popping in to see how jsj made out.. and wow.. posted already... glad everything went well and you can start putting this all behind you... loved the letter.. gave me the sniffles.. very powerful.
Dawny, have everything crossed for you!!!
Hugs to everybody!

Dawny, sending positive thoughts for the scan! We are with you! Good luck!
Hope JS is resting well.
Ariom, bet you are so excited for Bec to arrive, please, please don't let the flu bug get her so you both can enjoy each other. Cold in WI today, kids have a golden lab and we went walking but brrrr, not to improve until Easter Sunday.

Hi again, ldesim, nd, Holly, gB, Vintage!
I am taking a chocolate break, from the clear out. I am knackered! my back is aching. I have found boxes full of CD's and fabulous bedlinen, unopened, china that I forgot I had. I am almost done, but what a job it has been. I must say I feel lighter now that I am shedding all this stuff.
Well, back into it for a couple of hours and maybe even a Nana nap. Even had the echo of the "Claw" which hasn't been around for a loooong time.
Chat later....M x

Good morning all! I am feeling pretty well as long as I sit still. During the night I began having a sharp pain under my right arm across the incision to the middle of my chest. Thinking maybe I was too adventerous yesterday because I felt so good. I keep forgetting to not use my arms too much . Hoping I get sprung today. Thank you all for being the bag for me. I love my sisters and support that I know is in this group. Heree is a picture from last night of how my incisions look. Hoping that some of the puffy is just swelling. I had put my sweater up over my shoulders behind my neck. Thinking that wasn't the right move lol.

the doctor was just here and I am going home!

jsj, Glad you're going home. Don't forget there are drains in there. That could be causing much of the puffiness. I was amazed at how long they were. Just let sailman wait on you. I'm sure he will and love every minute. Very gentle hugs.

Yay you're going home!! One year ago today I had my drains out... those were the worst!!! You do look quite swollen, hopefully that goes down quickly. I had the same problem forgetting not to use my arm and then getting the painful reminder when I lifted it too high. Hope you're getting lots of coddling
M, I'm laughing over your chocolate break

Jsj, that is great news, home you go! Try to rest though, and keep those arms down!
I am still waiting for my scan results from yesterday, usually my onc rings the same day. Only 8 am here, I think I will ring her after 9am. Maybe she had a day off or something. I am rambling, I just need to know the results! Lol
Dawn. Xx

Hey Js! I am clapping my hands with glee, I say that because ldesim gets a kick out of laughing at me!
I am so thrilled to hear you're going home!!! Yay! but I can't believe you are the first to have overdone it while still in the Hospital and have invoked the dreaded "Claw" so soon! Give the lady a cigar!!!!!! That awful sharp feeling in your chest and underarm is the warning alarm that you have overdone it!
Try to take it easy and the drains will get rid of that puffiness and the bruising will soon disappear. I hope you had a little pillow for the drive home.
Looking forward to hearing how you're doing! Gentle hug from me and say hi to Sailman, I bet he found it weird to be taking a picture of your chest to put on a website! LOL How is he doing?

Hey ldesim! I have had too many chocolate breaks! I can't tell you how much stuff has appeared for this yard sale. When we moved here in July 2012, the painters and some of the tradesmen were still here working so I had to just stash stuff where I could. When they were all gone and I was ready to unpack the rest and set stuff up, I was Dx, so then it was surgery and the time just got away from me. I forgot about most of the stuff still in boxes, but I knew when I opened cupboards to put away new stuff I had acquired, there wasn't a lot of room! LOL
Bring on Saturday! I can't wait to get rid of it all. I will happily give it away if I have to! M x

jsj, yay for going home, just remember to take it easy!! Like any of us did...oh well. I don't see a photo, was it removed? Don't judge what you are going to look like by anything you see right now. There is bound to be swelling and such that will go away and as the healing progresses you will see changes all the time. It really takes a while to get any kind of idea what the final result will be. Rest and then rest some more!! (((very gentle hugs)))
Dawn, here's hoping for nothing but good results from your scans!!
ldesim, you had your drains out the day of the marathon bombing?! Were you anywhere near it? I watched the commemoration ceremony today online, it was very moving. Such strong and brave people!!
Hugs for everyone!

Morning Dawn! Gorgeous day here in Gippsland. It's 20 to 9, I'd be calling too. I hate waiting for any results.
I wish you all the best for your results. M x

We all need to know the results Dawny!! Waiting is the wo st.
M, I am shocked to hear you have no room in your cupboards! hahaha! That's right, clean them all out so you can accumulate more sh!t .I don't enjoy laughing at you, but I do enjoy teasing you
Yeah GrammaB, both the marathon and the world series were going on that day, close to my hospital. Nothing and I do mean NOTHING was stopping me from having those g'damn drains removed! Couldn't drive in town so we took the subway. We were on the way home.. literally directly underground when the bombs went off. They stopped the subways and we were sitting in the dartk in the tunnel for close to an hour.. nobody had cell phone reception, nor internet.. we were just told it was a medical emergency. I was so shaken when I found out what happened... very scary.
