I always said my hyst was THE BEST surgery I ever had!!  And there's been a bunch. They left me one ovary, which pooped out years ago. Now my MO wants it gone. Need to discuss that some more.

My big worry, besides the usual surgical worries, is cuz I have LE from the MX. So I would worry about it happening after the HX. And of course, no one can predict that! I know they will tell me not to worry,, but how can you not worry, when you already have it in one part of your body?

    hello all!!

PRP I wouldn't worry too much about the colonoscopy.  Sounded benign to me.  IBS is caused by stress and do ya think we might have some stress??????????????   I have IBS and started to eat fiber fiber and more fiber .   That has really helped.

Sound like everyone in on trips and that is wonderful!  I too have fibroids so going to ask my onc doc about hysterectomy.

Ariom. Have a great time with Bec!  Who is Bec?

Ndgirl's. Is a "box" a bilateral mastectomy?  Bless Marilyn's heart.  These decision are huge and suck so bad .   All this is so deforming at least when I look in the mirror anyway!  Tell her we are with her in spirit!!!

Jsj. Hoping all is well with you. Hoping you find comfort and peace!

Happy birthday Zills.   We are all still alive!!!  :-)

Got a 1000.00 dollar bill for oncotype DX test. But it is worth it cuz no chemo according to that test.

    Well all, stay blessed!

    More later

    O2

They wouldn't be taking any nodes out, probably do it vaginally, vs incision. Whole different type of surgery.

When they said I needed a hyst, it was all I could do not to stand up and cheer. I was SO over periods, which began at 11yo. The surgeon thought I had ovarian cancer, but it turned out to be a twisted ovary that was getting gangrene from the twist. I felt fortunate that it wasn't CA and that the ovary hadn't burst. My mother died at age 23 from peritonitis.

Happy Birthday Zills!   I hope your day has been fantastic!

Healing thoughts and prayers JS and Sailman.

PRB-glad all went well with the colonoscopy.  Keeping positive thoughts for the final report!

ND- hope you are enjoying your trip!  The unplanned Arimidex vacation is a bonus! Keep us posted on Marilyn!  Keeping her in my prayers as well.

M- hooray a trip to see Bec!  I know you are over the moon!  I am smiling just thinking about you!

O2- sorry to hear you have fibroids too!   How is work going?  I hope you aren't overdoing it!

Glennie, I had a hysterectomy on Dec. 1, 2000.  My left ovary had five tumors in it and was the size of a large grapefruit!  When I would lie down you could see a bump!  The surgeon told me it was precancerous, told my husband it wasn't cancer and only had three tumors. She took everything out and it has been referred to as my cavity ever since.  Nice huh?  I was only 45 so I was put on synthetic estrogen until I was 50 at which time everyone freaked out.  The doctor knew my mom died of breast cancer in 2001, he even signed her death certificate, so one might have thought I wouldn't have been put on HRT?  Oh well it's all history now.  I never missed my "girly parts".  Like Spookie, I haven't regretted it at all.  Been wearing white pants ever since!

I do wonder how everything is connected.  I haven't had any genetic counseling as my BS said I can't be BRCA since I am HER2+.  (True, I can't be BRCA1, but I could be BRCA2!  Not common, but possible.) I keep meaning to talk to my MO about it, but I just forget.  I really don't do well with doctors.  I have felt like my BS has ignored me because I didn't want reconstruction.  Made me go through all sorts of hoops before she let that one go.  I had to meet with the plastic surgeon and a post surgery group.  Has never mentioned foobs.  My last appointment was, as I came to find out, an error.  (Did I ever mention that I live over an hour away from civilization?)  They thought I would have had radiation by then.  I was still having post surgery chemo.  Humm....guess she doesn't talk to my MO either!  I have another appointment for September.  I figured I would call in August and see if they really want to see me since I didn't have rads.  Bet they won't!  Wow, didn't mean to go off on this tangent.  Must be the Arimidex I started taking! My knees are aching already!  My MO said to take calcium with it.  Never said how much.  I took 600 today, but I think I might need 1200 a day?.  I would really appreciate it if someone would let me know.  I also take prescription D weekly as well as a daily multi.  Pills, pills, and more pills!

GD1 turned 10 on Saturday.  She lives about one hour away and had a pool party with friends.  I always go to her birthday party as does my DD2 since we don't have a large family. She doesn't have a father, my ex and his wife never go, and my DH is in such a depression he rarely leaves the house.  (He won't get help. I am sorry his Dad died in December of lung cancer at 81 years old, but I can't make it okay.  And, as cold as this sounds, I have pretty much had to take care of myself for the past year and I just don't have much else left to give.) GD1 seems so grown up now!  I bought her a new pair of Levi Flare jeans and she looked like a teenager!  Oh be still my heart!  I am not ready for that!  On baby watch for GD3.  Son's wife was on bed rest, but has gotten the go ahead for a safe delivery any time now!  I am sure GD2, aged 4, will start running her mom ragged now that she can!

Well, I think I've gotten you all caught up on my goings on.  I hope everyone has a good night, and a good morning M and Zills!  Posting before I lose this! S

GYN said that it couldn't be a vaginal HX cuz I've never had kids.  Has to be abdominal, but she can do it laprascopically. And no reason for nodes,, I'm just being paranoid!

Hi 02, Bec is my Daughter and she is the only regret I have about my move here. She was just 10 minutes from me when I lived in Melbourne, I am now 300km away and although she comes here when she can, I miss her.

You girls crack me up! I relate to everything you've said! I was so disappointed when I woke after exploratory surgery and I found out that both my fallopian tubes were gone, but I still had ovaries and a womb. My gyno couldn't believe it when I gave him a serve for not getting rid of the lot when he was in there. I had an Ectopic Pregnancy, go figure how that happened, when I'd had my tubes tied at 24, by the same gyno, when I was Dx with a pre cancerous womb when I had Bec. I had an ultrasound years later and the operator couldn't find my ovaries, he said they had atrophied.

I went through menopause at 38, finished by 45 and wearing white pants whenever I want, too! LOL

Sgc, so much going on for you and another Grandchild coming, Yay! I envy that, I would love to have granchildren

You aren't the first I have heard of who was treated badly for not going all the way with recon. How rude of these so called professionals. They best just learn to suck it up because there are a lot of women opting out altogether, or just putting it off till they decide. It isn't just the "done deal" for them with everyone these days.

I am so sorry to hear about your Husband. That's very tough for you.

I have an appointment with my Surgeon next Tuesday. I haven't seen him since the day he did my Dog Ear revision in March. I like him a lot, he is an easy 1 hour drive from here and he is always on time for appointments. First time I have ever had a surgeon who doesn't overbook! We usually  make a day of it, have lunch and go shopping. I can't believe it  but my next mammo is due in September. Time has really flown. M x

Thinking of Zills, JS and Sailman this morning and sending good vibes.

Ariom  enjoy your time with Bec, you must miss her alot. Be sure to give us an update on what trouble you guys get into! You've probably mentioned why you guys moved there but from the photos and how beautiful it is I can certainly understand why you would want to, so picturesque.

Wren  good luck on your appt!

ND hope you are having a relaxing and fun vacation.

Sgc  Have you tried almond milk for the calcium, it is super yummy!  Hugs to you for dealing with everything on your own, surely not easy for you.

Glennie  somebody has a big tongue in that photo, who is that handsome baby?

Today supposed to be the hottest day of the year so far,  90 and humid, uggh. Dogs won't want to be out too long. Any blueberry lovers? I order them every year, 20 lbs!! that we go through in just about one year time. They are super easy to freeze and keep like little marbles in the freezer, nothing better in middle of winter when all we seem to have are bananas and oranges. From a blueberry farm in Michigan, and I certainly eat my share while cleaning and freezing. Wish I could send you all little care packs of blueberries.

    xoxo

ndgirl, I know you are on holiday, but they have 40% off our Mona bras. Red Camisoles and Valetta T shirts. I couldn't help myself......

02, once you get used to it, you won't even feel like you're wearing a foob! I often find myself grabbing my chest as I am about to walk into a meeting or a restaurant to make sure I remembered to put on a foob! LOL

I am all for Pink Ribbons if they are for research, I just hate the Pink bandwagon that some companies jump on in October and never give anything to BC. I get riled about the advertising exect on huge salaries who think tank, for new awareness slogans. I think there is enough F'ing awareness, lets get on with the research and finding a cure.

I was in the plant nursery last year and there were plants in pink pots everywhere and not one was giving anything to BC. That's the pink crap I object to.

I have a little pink bling pin that Bec gave to me, I wear it, because she bought it for me and some of the funds went to research.

I'm with you on that. The money needs to go to research. Otherwise it's just a marketing technique.

ok one last foob question( ha) .... I. Have these really soft comfy stretchy bras no pockets.  I can wear my prosthetic foob in that right against my bare chest right?  Like without a pocket  is that ok???  It won't ruin my new foob will it??  From sweat and stuff?  Stupid question but I really don't know.

Hi 02, you can wear your foob in the soft stretchy bra, but you may find the weight makes the bra sag too much. I think you said you were a size 6 form, so that has some weight behind it. The other thing is that the form may work its way up and out if it isn't anchored inside a pocket and you are doing anything strenuous. I  had this happen in the early days with soft forms, where they suddenly appeared under my chin!

As far as damaging the foob by wearing it next to your skin, I doubt it very much. This is a silicone foob we are talking about, right?  They need to be washed and dried regularly with gentle cleanser to make sure the oils and salt from our skin don't break down the covering. The foam foobs are generally not washable, some have just the covers that come off for cleaning.

Although I have a couple of my old favorite bras for my Contact form, and some of the stretchy knit ones, even the crop top sports bras with pockets and shape wear camis, I still find a properly fitted Mx bra or cami with pockets is far more comfortable, than any thing else I have tried.

Oh 02, those puppies are being neglected because of your new "Puppy"! LOL

Hey Bobo! and Zills, that's a heatwave over there! I saw people on the news in Glasgow, where I am from, they were stripping off and sunbathing in the parks over there!

Off to visit my Thursday GF's, chat later...M x

Hi 02, glad you had some fun with the shopping. I got some great things too! What a brilliant sale that was.

You are the same size as I am. I wear an 8 too.

Don't worry about having a foob up under your chin, unless you are wearing a light weight one. I got caught running around trying to take pictures of the Pelicans on the water. I felt something under my chin and it was the light weight foob! LOL

My Dexter is curled up with me on the couch, too cold for a walk today. M x

Ariom, what type of gentle cleanser to use?  Are we talking body wash cleanser, or gentle laundry cleanser like Woolite?
