climbing in the big bag for Glennie.........aww shucks! I hate that you are having surgery! But it does sound like a good plan! Gotta stay alive!!! :-). We will help you along. Hot flashes aren't bad bet Ariom would like one now in her freezing weather. They sure beat cancer.
I was told today I have osteoporosis of my spine-and gotta take fosamax. Yet another pill to counteract the the other one. Oh boy here we load up on pills. :-/.
On a better note I got my swim foob in the mail and I love love love it! It looks nice in my new suit! And I got 3bras. Mona bras and they are wonderfully comfortable and am so happy with them. Finding all this stuff is expensive but it is worth it to have my clothing together. Amoena makes my swim foob. Very comfortable and hangs like my other breast!!! Yay , But of course it is suppose to rain all weekend. I haven't gotten to swim all summer. Next sunny day off. Holding my nose and taking the plunge!!!!
More later!

02, I am so pleased you like the items you got! ndgirl and I are partial to the Mona bra too, they are great quality, they last and do wash and wear really well. Amoena really do it well. Mary at Mastectomysolutions gave me a great tip for taking care of expensive bras. Get a salad spinner for the laundry, wash and rinse your bras and put in the salad spinner, spin the excess water out and hang on a hanger to dry, it works a treat. My bras are still like new, from using this treatment.
I have the Amoena swimform too, is yours the clear silicone one?
I have Osteoporosis too, in my spine and elsewhere. I have tried a couple of the drugs, one that's a yearly infusion and another that was once a week, but can't take them.
Would you believe, I was Dx about 14 years ago at -3, and I am still -3, no degeneration at all. They say mine is from the steroids and the other drugs I had to take for my RA. I take Vit D and eat as much calcium rich food as I can and take 1200 calcium a day. The Doctor just says "Keep doing what you're doing!"
I have just been to the Opp Shop to see the girls and to the local school car boot sale.I picked up a few things for the studio, if it ever gets painted. I wanted to do it myself, but I think I will have to have it done, because I don't want to flare up this sore side again. I hate not being able to just jump in and do what I want. I used to decide to redecorate a room, I would get it painted and all the furniture rearranged by the time Bec got home from school, I loved doing that!
It is still freezing out, but still sunny. I stayed rugged up and was quite comfortable at the fair, I had a bacon and egg sandwich...mmmm!
I am off to do some tidying, catch you all later..M x

thanks, O2,, I got a good spot in the bag for you,, right next to the cookies, ok?Surgery and taking pills and hot flashes suck,,,, but like you said,, better than cancer !
salad spinner? Really? huh,,, I wash them in the machine, inside a lingerie bag and then hang dry,,, but first you put them in a salad spinner before hanging up? Interesting,,,,
what did you get for the studio?
My coworker has graciously agreed to cover my last 2 hours at work, since I had to get up early for my appt,, so I'm off to bed, ladies! Catch you tomorrrow.

Glennie, I hand wash and rinse, then salad spin and hang on a hanger. I was told not to machine wash them. I would imagine they don't get to pulled about in a lingerie bag.
I got a lovely big clock for the wall in the studio and a couple of bowls with fish painted on them and a nice cushion. Last week I found the exact directors chairs I had been looking for and a chest of drawers. I had a lot of shelves built in when the carpenter was here, but I have some other things in the house that might get moved out there. I need to wait and see how much room there will be before I get too excited! I hadn't bargained on Colin wanting a slice of the shed for his storage, so I had to give up a quarter of it. Now there is a wall, with a door in it, that I hadn't figured on, when I started. At least his end is on the street side, so there is access from the big barn doors on the outside too. I probably won't need to use the interior door to access his stuff.
I can't wait to get all the stuff put away, it looks like Steptoe's Yard down the side of the house.
Take it easy...M x

Well.. holy chit, I called the pharmacy to see how much Arimidex would be (non generic).. and just like someone said here earlier, it's $400 PER MONTH! I have pretty good insurance and thought it would be around $40 or so, but nope it's $400!!! How crazy is that? Makes you wonder what that's all about. I mean, why would they want to keep it out of the hands of the big pharmacies? Walgreens said they'd have to order it even. When it's all said and done, I guess it doesn't really matter why they do it...I'm just thankful we can order it from them for $30/month!
Glennie glad your ultrasound is over. I've had a lot of those over the years, and quite honestly, since they always followed the 'regular' ultrasound and the pain of holding all that water, I was quite happy to empty my bladder and proceed with the vag ultrasound. Oh the relief Well that reminds me of the ultrasound I had a couple of months ago to try and figure out why I'm having these IBS type symptoms. Once again I had to do both types of ultrasounds, but I was done in a flash because as the technician said "there's not much in there!". I guess there's a plus side to having all your innerds removed.

Hi girls, just thought you may like to see this picture that I received from a friend, it was taken yesterday at a place called Ballarat in Victoria. It is about an hour from where I used to live in Melbourne. You don't see many pics of Kangaroos in the snow. M x
0 -
Oh my dog!!! Snow!!!!!! Brrrrrr
0 -
wow look at those kangaroos!!! Wow what a site. I can't wait for winter. I love the cold especially now with these hot flashes!!
Prp. Have you checked Arimidex Direct. Online. 30 dollars a month. I wonder why it is so expensive? Probably because then no one would take the genetics which would kill the international pharm markets..... Or something like that!!!
Going shopping to walgreens now! Will ask. Gotta go get the fosamax for osteoporosis :-/
More later. Stay blessed!
Anyone hear from bobo girl???

I got to meet Bobo today! It was uber exciting! We met for coffee at Starbucks and talked non-stop until she had to leave for yoga. We are both dog people and like Hugh Laurie's music. It was really great to have someone go talk to who really knows what you are going thru.
That kangaroo pic is awesome!
0 -
Ariom, That would make a great Christmas card, especially for people not in Australia.
0 -
02 - yes, I am in the process of enrolling with the Arimidex preferred pharmacy for $30. I really don't understand why it's so expensive to the regular pharmacies. I wonder if they make more profit by selling it direct then if they were to sell it to the Walgreen's of the world.
M - both those kangaroos have the same expression on their faces.. like "what you looking at?". Love the picture...HATE the snow. Seriously, I am already dreading winter. Our summer hasn't been very warm, and it already feels like fall....makes me cringe just thinking about the cold.
Might go do a little back to school shopping with DD today. She agreed to go, which kind of surprised me, but then I realized she was thinking pencils and notebooks, and I was thinking jeans and shirts.

Hi all! Glad you liked the Roos!
It has been a beautiful sunny day, but so cold on the waterside. I took Dex for a big walk, but even rugged up, I was freezing when I got back. There are so many amazing birds here at the moment and we have had Dolphins right outside a few times this week.
I did a bit of housework when I got home and I have been on the couch watching Orphan Black all afternoon.
Glennie, I am so thrilled, you got to meet Bobo! I wish I wasn't so far away, I'd love to do that.
PRB, I used to love doing the back to school shopping with Bec, we are both stationery nuts, so it was always a good day, she was never too interested in the clothing part. The worst was the shoe shopping, she was ultra fussy about her footwear.
I'll let you know how the biopsy goes tomorrow! Wish me luck! I'll have the big bag with me. Hugs from me M x

Thanks Zills, posting at the same time!
How are you doing?

In the bag , M!
Baby Fiona arrived Friday and is doing well. DS, DIL, and DG are over the moon-as am I. I will get to see her this coming week. Such a pouty face below.
Arimidex is causing all sorts of joint and bone pain, but it is still not as bad as the tamoxifen. DH and I are most likely separating. Another new normal to look forward to. All in all grateful to be alive and remaining strong. Breathing....just breathing. Susan

in the bag, M.
If you ever journey to the States, we'll have to arrange a reunion!
Susan, the baby is beautiful! Sorry to hear about the separation.

in the bag with you tomorrow Ariom!!! And may your results be benign!!!
Glennie. When is your surg?
Do we need those fake nipples I see online???

Ps. Stop laughing

Sgc, Congratulations, baby Fiona is beautiful. Grandchildren are sooo wonderful. I have a 5 yr old granddaughter, Aubrey, and my other daughter is expecting a boy on Dec. 16! Sorry about your separation - sending you a hug and positive energy!
Ariom, thinking of you!

My hysterectomy is Sept 29th. got a while to wait. Got mammo on Tues. Should take half the time if only doing one breast, right? LOL!!
And I bought some fake nipples,, and never used them. I'm wearing Swell Spots all the time for the LE, so I'm usually not wearing my silicon Foob anymore. The Swell Spot adds a layer that makes my size 5 foob too big for balance. I think I need like a size 2 now! Maybe I'll see about another one at some point, but right now, I'm just stuffing the bit of extra space with a Knitted Knocker.

In the bag M.
Sgc, The baby is a joy. Sorry it's mixed with less joyful things.
M, I wish I had your luck at the opp shops. If I score a real find at one it's a signal to hit them all. I remember finding a Fiesta plate for $1.00 in a thrift store.

SGC gorgeous baby and love the name Fiona. Sorry you have to face another sad chapter in life, you've got all of us here for support when you need it.
Came across 3 more praying mantis yesterday, two on the gate at front of house and one sneaky guy hanging out on the handle of the umbrella on the patio! Spotted him just as I was about to close the umbrella, his new abode is on the other side of the fence by the woods.
O fake nipples! Went to boutique a few days ago, they did not have anything I liked in my size so they ordered about 6 bras I liked that I can try, no obligation. And no foobs my size so they are getting in a couple for me to try, an Amoena and a Tru Life. I'm petite but still, kinda hard to order out of a catalog. Once we find what we like and know our size then it will be easier to order online when needed. I didn't think about the nipple and whether one comes on those foobs. But it seemed like alot of the bras are so padded anyway ( isn't that so true with non-mast bras also! ) that I don't even know if you could see a nipple if you had to! So will be sorting through all of that later this week.
xoxo

SGC. Beautiful baby. Can you bottle the smell and send it around?
I know it's hard to balance your needs and your family. However we have to put ourselves first now. Maybe the separation can be a good thing. I think it's lonelier when you're with someone who doesn't participate than being by yourself. We're here whenever you need us.
Blessing of the graves today. We took up four pews! Priest didn't come out to cemetery. It was raining. So we did our own thing and everyone came back to the house to eat. Most stayed late. It was great to see everyone. Mostly aunts and uncles. Not as many new cousins as hoped. I snuck away for a two hour nap!
Going to another park tomorrow with both his brother and sister as it's a bank holiday. Then sneaking away to shop on Tuesday. Saw some cool boots for me!, boy needs some back to school stuff and a few souvenirs. Wanted a new duvet. May need another case.
Wish we had a few more days. Can't get enough of the beach. But weather not holding. Got drenched Saturday. Rained this am but cleared up for kids to play outside. Nice tomorrow and then more rain.

Thanks for everyone being in the bag today! I just hope I am being silly and it's nothing, just a shitty feeling again.
Oh SGC, the baby, Fiona, how gorgeous is she! Zills, I wish we could bottle that smell too.
SGC, I am sorry to hear of your separation, but as you say, it is going to be a new normal, not necessarily a bad one. We are all here for you and I hope everything works out for you.
02, I looked at them, but never bought the nipples. I know Amoena do a really nice fine silicone pair, but I don't know who really needs them.
Glennie, you never know, I may make it to the US some time, and then I will make sure I can get around to see as many of you as possible. I still can't believe I was just 15 months off lifetime flying rights with United when they shut us down. I took my staff travel for granted for 11 years, could go anywhere for next to nothing.
Glad to hear you have a date for your surgery, I will be in the bag!
Wren, I am incredibly lucky with the Opp Shops, Colin calls it "tinny" I can decide I need something, try to find it the usual way, with no luck and it will turn up in an Opp Shop. My gf's all have items they want me to look for too. I have found some of the most obscure things, ever!
Zills, have fun shopping! I don't think I have ever returned from a holiday without an extra bag. lol I usually pack a nylon sack in my suitcase, but it often isn't enough. I hope you get your boots, I love having stuff that lasts a long time, from my travels. It's nice to remember when you wear them, "Oh I bought these in Ireland!" or wherever!
Helenna, the shop where I bought all my first things had to order stuff in for me to try too. I bought some, but have actually sourced far better prices online since then.
If anyone is interested, there is a closing down sale on Womenspersonalhealth.com. I bought a lot from there, when I was first hunting for mx items. I just got an email from the lady who runs the site, she is really helpful and knowledgable and she has odd sizes in everything @75% off. I just bought another half dozen camisoles for around $20.00 each and a weighted foam form for $19.95, great prices if anyone is looking for anything extra. ndgirl, I know you'll be interested!
I have a few hours to kill before I have to go into town, so I might give myself a facial and paint my nails.
Love and hugs to everyone..M x

Ariom, in the bag for you and I so love the pic of the roos. Agree what a neat Christmas card it would make.
I am so far behind here, spent the weekend with my cousin in Manitoba Canada and had just a wonderful time catching up with her and her wonderful husband! But I am so wiped out from vacation and then the weekend and also a wedding reception after getting home, It will take me a month to catch up! It is very warm here now but the mosquitos are terrible and now some damn bug called a buffalo gnat is ruining our summer, the bites swell up to a tremendous size and itch.. grrr
Susan, what a sweet baby and I love the name!! Enjoy her. Sorry about the separation if you are, dont know the situation but you dont need any excess stress and if I remember correctly that is what was happening... we are all here for you to vent anytime.
Glennie, you got to meet Bobo? how wonderful! how is she doing? miss her on these boards so much. wish we could all meet up someday!! preferably in Austrailia! Good luck with the mammo on Tuesday.
I will be checking to see how the biopsy goes Ariom and Glennie too.

Modeming in on Sunday night to announce that I am in the bag for M. I have already had one light beer. Waiting for news from M. Will not get in the bag yet for Glennie because will get claustrophobic staying in there for eight weeks.
ND, I will come to ND and help you can things! As you know, that is my dream.
It is so funny -- I got to meet our Glennie on Saturday. It happened so fast! We just set it up and then we were there. It should be noted that G graciously agreed to meet at Starbucks even though she only drinks tea. She is a lady that way.
She is also a badass, from the looks of her, and we both ardently love Hugh Laurie, which I think is a pretty extreme coincidence. DLLP is driven crazy by my HL fixation. When I play his music in the car she will not stop complaining.
Susan -- baby Fiona is gorgeous. I am sorry about your impending separation, but not really. He does not deserve you probably! XXX

I reply to myself. I adore those snowy kangaroos!

Okay, since I can't bottle her baby scent I will post another photo, the last one, I promise!
She seems to be sleeping in every photo, however, according to my DS they had a rough night last night! Hopefully they will get some rest tonight.
O2-separation not because of this, but the addition of this. Life isn't cruel or unfair, it's just living.
Glennie, hope all goes quickly on Tuesday. I will be in the bag on Sept. 29th!
Diva- looking forward to your new DGS's photos! Thanks for the hug and positive energy!
Wren, yes, the baby is a joy and even the crap going on can't change that.
Helenna- DS and DIL were at odds about her name, I mean some names DS wanted were a bit out there! I was thrilled when they chose a traditional one. Bless you for dealing with the praying buggers!
Zills, you are wise beyond your years! It is lonelier and the separation is not necessarily a bad thing. Walking on egg shells is so much worse! Enjoy the rest of your holiday!
M-thanks for always being here! I've become pretty adaptable and this new normal will be okay. Now, if I could just adjust to this damn Arimidex! I finally got an appointment with my Rheumatologist...in Oct!
Thank you all for your words of encouragement. I appreciate knowing that I can vent should I need to. Right now I am still on a "baby high" and all is okay.
0 -
You are right ND! Way too much stress. Will have to walk on egg shells just a bit longer.
Bobo you made me LMAO! Thanks, and no he doesn't deserve me. S

I like that Tazo green tea, Bobo. It's tasty. And I work hard at being a badass bitch. When I left my job at Shands, they got me a cake that said "goodbye bitch". Well it would have said that but Publix refused to write bitch on the cake. So it said " goodbye B-----". LOL. I have a picture of that cake somewhere. It was awesome meeting you and we have to do it again.
