    Hi all

M, thanks for your suggestions, when you say a light weight foam form, do you mean something like the form that comes with the Berlei bra at mx?  I found that too light, it wanted to sit up under my chin! lol.   My contact is a size 5, and I wear it in an Amoena Lara bra.  Since I have stopped wearing, the pain has gone, just left with some soreness on the scar line.
    So windy here today.

Helenna, great news that you don't need chemo.   I have so many cooking magazines, that I am going to need an extension on my house!

PRB, good to see you, no deleting posts now, remember we get it!?

    D  xx  :)

Prb, I've been on generic Arimidex for 2 years with virtually no symptoms. Some people seem to have a rough time, but I certainly wasn't one of them. I have some aches and pains but nothing that can't be traced to being 73.

Hi Dawney, no, those pouffy foobs are just for post surgery and for some women, who have a lot of nerve pain. They will always end up under your chin if not secured in a pocket or pinned into a bra etc they have no weight at all.

The weighted foam I am wearing, is a TruLife 611 weighted foam form. I have tried a great number of other brands of these leisure forms, on the market, but find, for me, this one is far superior for both fit and comfort. It comes with a removable cover for cleaning. The form itself can't be cleaned. It has a core of some kind of metal weights, but isn't as heavy as a silicone form. It is for wearing in a pocketed bra, camisole or any item with a pocket sewn in. I wear mine inside a sports crop top with a pocket. The form has a tab at the top to use as an anchor point if you want to pin it into something.

These forms only have a 12 month guarantee, unlike the 2 years, I believe, for silicone, but they are much cheaper to buy. I buy 2 at a time because Metromedical sells for 2 for $72.00 or $40.00 each. They are a little firm to begin with but, soon soften up.  I am still wearing the first one I bought about a year ago, so they do last, especially if you aren't wearing them every day.

In saying all this, no items are going to suit everyone. It is worth going and having a look at your store to see what they have available, try them on and then you can either buy or source them elsewhere once you know what you want. We don't have a lot of options here in Aus. I buy most of my stuff from the US and have it sent to MyUs, which is a company that consolidates your parcels and then freights them out here all at once for a better shipping rate than if I sent them individually.

I wonder if the band on the Lara was irritating your scar. Although I really like the Lara, it isn't a bra I could wear all the time. It can get a bit annoying if I wear it for too long.

    Take care! M x

Sorry, I forget we have different names for things, a fortnight is 14 days or 2 weeks!

Dexa scan is nothing, but boring, lying still, while it scans you up and down. I had one recently. I take 1200 calcium as well as as much calcium rich food I can eat, apparently the foods metabolize better than the supplements and I take 2000 D. I don't know why I am not over the top in my D reading with all the sunlight I get here.

Helenna, so pleased you have dodged the Chemo!

I hope you can get those Mantis under control, I can't imagine hundreds of them. I only ever see the odd one on its own, never a plague like you're talking about.

Diva, take a small pillow to put between you and the seat belt for the drive home too. Glad you are prepared, you'll do great! I think it is very prudent of the surgeon to give you 6 weeks off, it isn't so much the actual surgery per se, although you do need to look after that, but the fatigue that comes after this surgery. I felt fantastic, but could literally fall asleep mid sentence...thump! I kid you not, Bec and Colin thought it was hysterical how I could be laughing and telling a story and then bang, I was dozing! You just need to be kind to yourself and all will be fine.

PRB, So good to see you! I am keeping the Gummy Bears idea for my next colonoscopy, that is absolute gold! I have done the strained soup thing, but Gummy Bears would actually feel like you'd eaten something. I used to just suck barley sugar, but it felt like I was dying of hunger.

Wren, glad DH saw the funny side! I told Bec I had told that story and she remembered a whole lot more funny ones, we had a good laugh on the phone this morning!

Spookiesmom, I am going to find Ocean Potion, someone always gets a sunburn in our Summer, so I will have it on hand!

Off to get my hair cut...catch you all later..M x

Wren…..my top 3 plant based favorites to up your veggie life are:

             1. Forks Over Knives website, and the dvd which is a powerful documentary.

             2. Facebook page for Dr. Garth Davis ( so much valuable info and ideas there )

             3. Oh She Glows website and cookbook ( the beautiful photos of veg dishes make you drool )

Jennie…..having hard time seeing the cuteness-Ha Ha, just little monsters waiting to chomp on my finger! But they can stay as long as its at the far side of the yard :)

Glennie….Ava is welcome to come play with my gang and snack on chard and dig up the yard anytime.

O……totally agree on the concern on drug safety. Talked to the pharmacist at Target (he's a good guy who is up front with you and knows his stuff) about Ameridex generic vs brand name, it would have been $400 for 1 month worth of brand name. I prefer brand name myself but we decided to get the generic filled so I could get started, but I will investigate further on getting the brand name. Interesting, he said there are some drugs that he tells people to pick one and stay with it either generic or brand, I believe curcumin type he mentioned, not that one is untrustworthy but that they are formulated different so you need to keep the dosing you are getting the same.

ND…..now we are all craving peaches! Especially the fresh from the orchard kind, ripe when the seam is protruding.

Hope everyone has a nice day.  xoxo

    Helenna~~~~

Just a quick note about Arimidex.  Dosing needs to be consistent but it also needs to be adequate.  If generics medications have filler then may be weaker version.  This med is a life saving med. I don't  want cancer again so I am doing brand name from Arimidex direct which is only 30 dollars a month.  That is where I find peace.  Follow peace and you will be fine.

    More later

They ALL have the same amount of med in them.  1 mg. it's the carrier that makes the difference.

The amount of med in them is the same,, ,but the fillers and binders that make up the tablets can be different and your body may break them down differently.  That can make the difference with your blood levels of meds.  Some meds are WAY more sensitive about these issues.  (Synthroid and Lanoxin come to mind)  If you are on those meds, you should stick to either the brand or one certain generic so that your blood levels will remain consistent.

the problem is that one month your pharmacy gets one generic and then two months later another generic is their "preferred" buy, so you end up with a different generic than the one you have before. Will your body break it down the same way?  Unknown,,,,  Will it make a difference,,, sometimes.

thanks all for the info on arimidex.  I really don't know what I am doing but all the info sounds right to me. Then arimidex direct will be consistent which is what we want.  All this sucks cuz I really don't take meds but not going to complain cuz I am still alive!   :-). I will do what I gotta do!!!!

got copies of my records yesterday and a CD with mammos and US.   Wow. That cancer was scattered all over left breast.   Very glad now I cut the whole thing off.   Of course I didn't really know what I was looking at either....... Glad I got my records though.

Hello everyone! I have been super busy today and it has been freezing!

Dawny, you are welcome, I am glad to help, this foob stuff has become a hobby for me! lol

02, glad you got your records. I have made up a file for mine to keep them all together.

Yuck Glennie, that test isn't so bad. I went for what I thought was an ultrasound, some years ago and that was what I got, no one warned me about how it was done! Didn't hurt or anything, just a bit weird.

Zills, I love Brussel sprouts! Bec made them for me last weekend! When I was a kid, I hated them,  but my Mother used to insist that I eat them, so I used to swallow them whole! I can remember thinking I was going to choke to death on a Brussel sprout!

ldesim! I miss you, how are you doing? I love the shopping tips, but I miss seeing you here. I still wear my bracelets every day and they remind me of you! Hugs from me!

Where is gB? I hope all is well with you, if you're reading. M x

I've had TVUS before so I know what it's like.  I'm stressing cuz my estrogen level is high again which means she is going to want to do a hysterectomy and get rid of all those estrogen producers.  I'm more freaked out about this surgery than if was about the MX.  No morcellation!

    Good morning,

On baby watch!  DS and DIL went into hospital at 2:30 this morning.  Don't know what is taking so long, but baby Fiona will be here soon! DG (4 years old) is waiting with DIL's mom and is so excited about becoming a big sister.    BTW I told DIL on Monday that she would have her today.  They will start thinking I am psychic instead of psycho!  LOL Don't you just love anti-hormonal drugs? Arimidex is making me crazy, but I am surely smiling today!   Hugs to all.  More later, Susan

Zills, The cure for okra being slimy is to bread it and fry. In Houston we could buy it frozen and already breaded. DH took some to a New Year's party here and people were gobbling it like popcorn while they said what is it? DH has quite the reputation as a cook, hence the willingness to eat unknown substances. Wonder if it could be done in the air fryer.

Addendum. Fresh okra is so expensive here it's just not affordable. I sent my DB in Okla a photo of the price tag $2.98/lb. He cracked up laughing. Okra is so prolific there that it's the vegetable people leave on other people's desk at work. Here that role belongs to zucchini.

She's going to do it robotically and she is very skilled at it. She's been my GYN for 10 years and i do have confidence in her. She's been trying to get my fibroids out for 5 years now, ,but I kept hoping to go into menopause naturally. Well, I thought I was this past year, since the estrogen levels seem to be dropping, but when they went over 500 again,,, that was just not good. I could be riding this hormonal roller coaster for a couple more years and all that estrogen could be feeding another cancer,,, so it's time.  Hot flashes await!!  *reminder to buy one of those personal fans*

Morning all, just got up and it is 2c and feels like -2c, the sun is shining  and there is a stiff breeze.

Glennie, I am sorry that you need more surgery, but "better out than in" in the long run! Great that you have a good Gyn, that you trust.  You better have a big bag for all of us to come with you!

Js, how are you doing? I hope you're feeling better, and stronger every day.

sgc, how exciting, I envy you, I love babies. No grand children for me :( Zills and Bobo keep me appraised of the goings on with their children. I love the smell of babies and have been known to take a deep breath as a newborn is carried past me! LOL Best of luck to the new parents, what a wonderful time they have coming!

Wren, I am not familiar with the plant okra, but I know a part of it is used for thickening in cooking. I haven't ever eaten the plant.

I hope it's warm wherever you are, snow jacket and gloves for me today....M x
