PRB.............In the bag .................. Hello all ...................I am back. I have been lurking some over the summer but have tried to live in denial and avoid the C word . Here is today's random thought.............
Between the SE's from tamox and the lymph node cancer I feel about 80 years old . So I got sick of hearing from the MO that Tamox does not cause this joint pain and started my own research . I discovered this anti inflammatory tea . 1 tsp of fresh ginger and 1 tsp of fresh turmeric in 1 cup of water . Boil it for 10 minutes and drink it with honey and lemon . I make it a gallon at a time and it has helped tons . If you don't have fresh spices/herbs you can substitute 1/2 tsp of the ground . So that is my public service announcement for you all this morning. I must say this is a far cry from days of my youth when the only herb I was interested in was "roll your own ".
I have made progress on de hoarding this house in preparation from the move to the mountain sometime this year. Told DH he needed to hurry up and finish it so that I could decorate it just in case. He was irritated that I would even think I might not be here . I said well "shit happens" and while I am not expecting "shit to happen in a month" you never know. You have a dick and they have made great advancements with prostrate cancer. Not so much with breast cancer and there is no cure for the lymph node cancer I have." That seemed to get my point across .....LOL
It is good to talk to you all again and I will try to get back in the swing of posting .
I think of you all constantly and am pulling for JS and DP especially. Hope they both can get some relief.

Hi fiaranch! I love it when you say 'dick.' **clapping gleefully**
It's really good to see you. XOXO

OH, M: the chewy caramel ones,,,,, I do love caramel.Have to have the beer after the appt, Bobo,,, need to keep my brain functional so I can ask all my questions! Must review my list later!

Hi Fiaranch,,, I love that little sign! Tea sounds great,, but I'm supposed to cut out herbal supplements before surgery. And Green Tea,, WTF? I hate this stupid restriction. My Vietnamese pharmacist friend doesnt understand the green tea restriction either. But will make note to try tea after surgery.do you still boil for 10mins if you use the powdered spices? Where are you moving?? **curious**0 -
Hi all, just heading to bed, but want to say Hi to Fia, nice to see you.
Bobo, Glennie, PRB, I am in the bag and I will keep an eye on Bobo with that beer!
Poor Dex is back on the Steroids again and Antibiotics, eye cream and he had all his shots, not a happy boy. He's in his bed watching me through his Rod Stewart do, waiting for his nightly treat before he settles down.
I will catch you all later....have a great day ladies. M x

I am in the bag too.
Nighty night M and Dex. I am heading to bed also. Had too much for dinner tho. Went out with some girlfriends, and had a ball. Dinner was choose three things, served on long narrow plate, I have had too much savvy blanc to remember the fancy schmancy names, I had 1). Samosas with spicy tomato, 2). quinoa salad with pomegranate and some yummy dressing 3) risotto cakes with rocket and Parmesan. All vegetararian of course. Couldn't fit in dessert, but disappointed in myself now, should have tried harder! Lol

Glennie,
I boil it the same amount for fresh or dried. I like the fresh spices better as it does not get cloudy. We are moving from the city to 80 acres that we have in the mountains. The older I get and the more tamox I take the less I like people . So being an hour from town may be just what I need. My son will be buying our house in town and we will finance that . Some days that was a good decision (less moving prep) and some days its was a bad decision (this is his first house and he needs to learn not everything gets done in a day and home ownership costs a lot more than just a mortgage.............. Oh well men...........Some days they think with their BIG HEADS and some days they think with their LITTLE HEADS.................. (sorry mods I could not help myself)

Good morning my sweet sisters! I am so sorry I have been MIA. The last month has just been exhausting. JB got moved off to the University mid August while my FIL and MDIL were here for a week .. (That was something let me tell you). I have my 6 round of chemo tomorrow and utter fatigue is the only way to describe how I feel. It is an effort sometimes to just move. I came back to work last week and am working Mon-Wed and then chemo on Thursday and bed on Friday. They are being so loving and supportive. We had the great head shaving party right after Labor Day when I started losing chunks of hair. I was determined to take control and not let it consume me, so there you go.
We are settling into the "new normal" routine, just taking it day by day. Some days are better than others, but I am so grateful to be alive and to have this chance to fight this effin' disease. I hope that you are all well and I must say I have missed you. I think of you all everyday and thank you for all being in the bag for me each week. Last week at chemo we had a bit of excitement. I was a "Hazardous Waste Spill". My port had come detached from the IV line and about 15 minutes of my Taxol made a puddle on the floor. The poor Pharmacist had to hazmat up from head to toe and come down to clean it up. One of my nurses said, "Isn't it amazing that when we give it to you, it is medicine, but on the floor, it is a hazardous chemical." I am about 200 posts behind and am hoping to catch up tomorrow while I am hooked up. I love you all and hope you have an amazing day!

Yeah, that'll make you feel REAL good about chemo!!! Had a similar experience. Was in for a port flush. Heard nurse say oh shit. Looked down, we were both covered in blood, the chair, the floor. Of course, I had my favorite shirt and white shorts on. And EVERYBODY in the room was looking. Fun times indeed.

JS!!!! I would give you a tackle hug but probably not a good idea with the port and all. ((gentle hug)) It is beyond awesome to see you. Now I got link to your Caring Bridge so I can check on you more often. *poor you*Yes, Chemo is so hazardous. Pharmacist and tech have to gown up to make it, and as you can see, if there is a spill, it's a major issue! And yet,, it's going in your veins. Good times. Nice to see the piccies of you and DH and DS. and oh dear,, you have a MDIL??? Is that like Bobo's MD?? YIKES! Not what you need.
give Sailman a big hug from us. Glad you checked in. We are in the bag every Thurs with you. Bobo has the beer,, hoping M will bring Tim Tams tomorrow. We've been talking about them too much and I want some.

Dawny, that dinner sounds really yummy.

Back from the laundromat where I washed the big bedspread and comforter. Needed to get that done before surgery. One more thing ticked off the list.

Wheeee - it's so good to see Fia and JS back. JS - Loved the family picture there and glad to hear you have made it through...hazard material and all. Fia - I have missed your random thoughts! Today's kind of fits me to a T.
So everything was fine today. Mammo clear, and ultrasound of lymph nodes on mx side looked good. Yeehah,... so infected hair it is! Never been so happy to have an infected something in my life! lol Burning is still kind of a mystery to everyone, so will have to keep watch on that I guess. Thank you all for sending your warm wishes my way. I read your messages again before I left this morning and it helped. I think I heard some noise in my coat pocket when my BS said it was all good... beer bottles clanking perhaps?
What are these tim tams? Going to have to look them up ..maybe they sell them on Amazon.
I have decided to treat myself to a day off. Have to pick up DD at 1:00 (early out today for school).. then drive her back to catch the bus for her volleyball game...then drive to the game 40 minutes away. Glennie, you are more than welcome to come with me...I could use the company. The volleyball game will be such fun...it's just so different than the recreational teams she was on in previous years. This is the real deal...well as real as 7th grade can get.
Oh, I have to share this. While in the waiting room (mind you it was 8:30 in the morning).. this woman sits down and whips out a Slim Jim.. (greasy, horrible meat stick kind of thing). I'm thinking OMG really? I don't even want to smell that thing. Minutes later, she goes and grabs the waste basket and hangs her head over it. I 'gently' suggested that perhaps she should go to the bathroom. No she says.. *blaghhhh*.. pukes into the wastebasket. I turn my head in hopes I don't heave... and she pukes again! Okie dokie.. I had to leave and go out into the hallway. A nurse came out and tried to get her to go into the bathroom...I dunno.. she was still there when I was called in...and I heard her say "I was at the ER last night". Good times, good times.
Hugs to all of you...and no puking.

PRB ,
WOO HOO on the great news !!!!
OMG your morning was like something from the "People of Walmart" . Can't you just hear the intercom " We have a HURLER on aisle 3, wet cleanup "
0 -
**happy dance** on the good news, PRB!! Woot!! Yes, we were a bit noisy with the beer bottles, weren't we? I think I had the radio too long also. Mea culpa. Antibiotic for the infected hair??and OMG,, puking lady! A Slim Jim,,, gross!! Fia is right,,, she belongs in Walmart.
Link to picture of Tim Tams: http://www.amazon.com/Arnotts-Tim-Tam-Original/dp/B002KRVSNY
Wonder if Fresh Market has them,,,must look.
Edit: burning under arm? Any swelling? Feeling of heaviness? Any signs of lymphedema? It's always on my mind, I'm afraid.

Ewww. I would have been hurling. Hope you lysoled yourself. Yipee on infected hair.
Glad ND is feeling better.
Hi Fia, JSJ.
In the bag for glennie tomorrow.
Tim tams by pepperidge farm were at target last fall. Seasonal item.
I have BG sore throat but felt like cleaning today! I must really be sick. Sorted toys all morning. Now have to go hide the evidence. Donations and trash.

PRB, glad for an infected hair! sounds weird but that is our life now isnt it?? OMG, cannont believe the nerve of some people, I would have been puking but in the bathroom... how gross could she be!! no wonder she puked eating a slim jim.. disgusting (to me anyway) Enjoy the volleyball game, we love to watch our great neice play, she is very good.
Hi Fia, so glad to see you again! and JS, thanks for the pics, I have been reading your cb site... hugs to you!!
Thanks Glennie for the tim tam link, I am in the dark of them as well.
Zills, hope your sore throat doesnt get worse.. do you take Ariom's Olvie Leaf Extract? that is supposed to nip a virus in the bud, I have also tried it and it seems to help.

In the bag for all who need it. I'll bring Seattle's Best coffee - not Starbucks.
Good to see Fla and JS. I may have to try the tea.

I'm back.. for a short minute before heading out again. Glennie - no antibiotic for the infected hair...it's come down quite a lot since last week so it appears to be on the mend. As for LE..yes I do have a pretty mild case of it, and during this time my arm was hot and a little swollen. Besides the burning underarm, the hotness of my arm is what prompted me into action (how long would I have delayed that mammo is anyone's guess). I was a little afraid of cellulitis kicking in. I've never heard of burning under the arm as a LE symptom, but maybe I just had the perfect little storm there. Hope so anyways.
Thanks for the link to TimTams.. sounds like something I'd love. I order a lot of stuff from Amazon..and now will be adding that to my shopping cart in the near future. Just what I need.. more sweets! lol It is a big downfall of mine. Luckily, DD doesn't have much of a sweet tooth. Lucky I say.. because that means more for me! *insert evil laugh* No really, I am happy that she doesn't crave stuff like I do..good for her health and her teeth.
I have no idea why this text is indenting. Strange things happen on the this site at times! Anyhow, thanks again for being here. I tried not to say anything.. really I did.. because I hate being so damn needy. Oh.. one thing that was nice that the nurse said to me was.. whenever you need to call us.. do it! We expect to hear from you... don't wait because you don't want to bother us. Nice.
Ok.. off to volleyball. I think I'm more excited than DD.

Seattle coffee is really delicious. They have coffee carts on the street there that make the best coffee.
PRB! Hooray for your infected hair! **gross** So glad we can happy dance for that!
JSJ -- so good to see you. Please say hi to Sailman. You have an MD in law? That made me smile. Wait until you catch up on the MD update.
I have no desire for Tim Tams. They just don't light my fire. Am not having a beer right now, but should be. Must grade essays. I too hide the evidence and throw away the toys of my children.
Poor poor Dex! He just needs to go to sleep and get this day over with! **cuddles**

I reply to myself. In the bag for Glennie's MO appt tomorrow. Hashing it out with nurse's per Dr Z's request regarding endo biopsy. Trying to let people know the plan is just not acceptable to me.
Birdie, my kitty just tried to jump on the dresser -- usual perch -- but pulled down an entire basket of (dirty) clothes placed there by DLLP. Giant crash. She is all right, but must clean it up.

Good morning ladies!
JS I am so glad to see you again, what a fabulous family you have! Hugs to both your men! I have been following your Caring Bridge too.
PRB, Yay for the infected hair! That just sounds so wrong and I don't do well around hurlers either, what was she thinking, doing it in a waste basket? I don't know what that thing was she was eating, but it sounds really gross! Waiting for a volleyball update!
Zills, so sorry you have a sore throat, ndgirl is right the Olive Leaf is great for any kind of virus,
Dawny that meal sounds fantastic! I hope you slept well and no indigestion.
Had a Hazmat experience myself! I was in Hospital when I had my Chiropractor incident years ago. I also had an uber Rheumatoid flare at the same time, so they decided I had to go on Methotrexate. This tech arrives in the full Hazmat suit with a little cooler with the one chemo injection in it. I was terrified to let them give it to me, Same reason, if it is that dangerous to you, why should I have it in my body? I got over that, learned how to self inject and kept it in my pantry, at home. I gave myself an injection every Tuesday for over 7 years, probably why I am here now!
Dex has woken up feeling much better this morning. He was a sad little man yesterday, but now I have to do the "Give the dog the tablet dance!" he will find a way to dislodge a tablet from everything. I wrap it in cheese, ham, dog food, push it inside a jelly baby. I think he just does it, to get the full range of treats to go with it...cheeky boy!
Lovely day here, painters back again, nearly finished!
Love and hugs to eberyone catch you later! M x

Do you have Pill Pockets in the pet stores? They look like Play Doh, smell vile, dogs snarf it down. I have yet to have a dog spit a pill back out with these things.
0 -
Good advice Spookie! M, I think our Dex holds out for the jelly baby, don't you?
I have just finished grading essays for the night. DLLP getting Chinese food, a rare treat. Maximum expenses this month, including two weeks of 'day camp' during the 'fall break' our new 'year-round school' has. Good thing I have the two jobs. I am drinking down a beer at the moment in honor of our excellent DP! **drinking**

M: have you tried putting the pill in cream cheese? All of my dogs seemed to have LOVED cream cheese."day camp"? Fall break?? WTH school is this?? Good grief.
Feeling a tad under the weather. Hope it is just the stress of everything. I just can't afford to get sick now. Do not want to postpone surgery. Will be spending the rest of the night on the couch, watching trash TV and relaxing.
0 -
I want to crash on the couch and watch trash too! Kids asking for cat videos.
Asked DH to go to counselor with me. He said yes but to not get my hopes up. I'm so confused. Therapists say give it a chance. Too early to tell.
I'm scared of the stress, setting a bad example, getting sick and upsetting the kids. Why can't he just let me live in fantasy land?
Sorry. Tomorrow will be better. Will take an x and sleep. Now if the kids would sleep....
Dex loves jelly babies? I can't stand gummies. Kids love them. Remind me of octopus.

Oh Zills, I'm sorry you're still going through this shitty stuff. I imagine the stress must be awful. Big hug to you, I hope you two can work this out. Sleep well!
Hi Glennie, I don't have cream cheese in the house, I don't eat dairy. Dex is just a finicky boy with meds. Sometimes the Ham works or the Cheese, I just keep going through the list till he swallows it!
I hope you are feeling better after some rest, you can't get sick now! Take it easy and keep hydrated! Hug for you too!
Damn right Bobo, he is a cheeky boy, our Dex!
You've got so much on again, but having the kids on camp for a bit might just let you catch your breath for a while! How did you go with the Nurse about the Biopsy? I have been searching on our medical websites but they don't seem to knock anyone out for it here either. Very weird! there was a site that listed 3 different ways of doing it, 1 was a punch, another was a scrape and the 3rd was a waterjet. It even listed them as Painful, Uncomfortable and Slightly Uncomfortable, in that order.
Spookiesmom, I had never heard of these Pocket things, so I went online to see them. Of course they aren't available here in Aus. I checked out Amazon, but they are not available for posting to Aus. Great idea though! I will just continue to operate on the jelly babies for the similar result. lol There is a tutorial YouTube version which is made from a Hot Dog Frank with the tablet shoved inside.
The painters have finally finished! Yay, happy dancing!!! I wanted to get out there and start cleaning up, but it has turned nasty again, cold winds and rain, so I just replaced the house numbers on the front door and hosed down the patio. I can't wait to get everything back to normal again.
Thinking of all of you..take it easy..catch you later! M x

I woke up feeling ok,, then I started sneezing which made me feel crappy all over again. Taking some immune boosters.M: Hot dog is good. Stick the pill in a piece of that. How about a piece of banana? Ava goes nuts for those. But then she eats everything,, even the pill itself if I drop it on the floor. She's a "good eater". YAY for the painters finishing!!
A medical site actually listed a procedure as "painful"? **shocked at the honesty**
Zills: sorry you have this awful stress. It just sucks. ((hugs)) We are here for you to vent.

Tomorrow is national talk like a pirate day. Krispy Kreme giving away free donuts if you talk or dress like one. They also have you tube videos to brush up on your piratese. Used to be our favorite day in maintenance.
