Thanks Glennie, Dex seems to have gotten it from the steroids he was on over the whole of Spring and Summer last year, when he is off the steroids it settles down. He's only about 6, a rescue too, but he was even younger than they thought, when we got him, our Vet said probably under 1 year. M x

    Hi All,

M hugs, Bec is dealing with Vi's loss her way and I am sure still hurting are are you

Bobo Happy Anniversary hope you two had a night out ...........  I want to also thank you for the best laugh I have had in weeks from the other thread " I would totally do it with a fireman" Hell we all would .

Glennie already in the bag for you . I will have the tequila

Zills I hope your outcome with DH is what you need, I am here for whatever  I can help with

Wren I am hoping to get some pet advice.  We have always had dogs.  We acquired cats over the past 2 years . Can you please tell me why one of my cats insists on wearing my flip flops ?  It is beyond strange (picture below)

    image

So I realize this is a very random multi subject post.  I saw this today and I guess it just got to me .  FOCK cancer and FOCK FOCKTOBER that is rapidly approaching.  My wish for us all is that we all live long enough to just croak from old age. I hope to have half of this woman's strength and courage. Most days I get by but lately this lymph node cancer is kicking my a**.  I will shut up now as I realize this is a BC site versus other random cancers.
    http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/09/20/mother-battling-cancer-shares-last-dance-with-her-son-at-his-wedding-72-hours-before-passing-away/

Also it is time for true confessions..........  I am a social degenerate (smoker)  and have been since I was 12 years old.  Actually I was kicked out of girl scouts for smoking .  I have decided that tomorrow will be my first serious attempt at quitting .  I realize this is not the stop smoking thread .  I have been there and they are nice people but there is no swearing on that thread. They say that the physical addiction is only there for 72 hours.  I tell you all this as a warning as I don't know  WTH may come out of my mouth over the next 72 hours !!!   Thanks for listening .................

Here is today's random thought..................   Yup I am still sweating and swearing !!!

Hello to everyone I did not mention by name (there are a lot of us) .  So glad for this site ......  The rest of the world could not possibly understand !!!

Fiaranch:  the cat is just adorable,, but I have no idea why cat loves your flip-flops.    Congrats on deciding to quit smoking. We are here for you. Drop all the F bombs you want.  Quitting smoking is really hard. What's your plan?  The patch, gum??  Think about your smoking triggers, so you have a plan to deal with them.  (I learn this shit on stop smoking FL commericals)  And you can grip about your cancer here,, we are not particular about it being only BC.  It's all fucking cancer!!!

End of another work night.. 3 out of 6,,, 9 days to spay!  Woot!

Fla, Your cat is adorable and that just needs a caption to go on I can haz cheeseburger. She's a torti and they're known for tortitude, so that may have something to do with it. Does she let you wear them sometimes?

I agree. Cancer is cancer no matter where it is. Feel free to vent here.

I'm impressed with you planning to quit smoking. I suggest you consider getting the patch to get you through the rough part. And things to do with your hands are very important. Paperclips to fiddle with, plastic coffee stir sticks to suck on and chew, paint your nails with slow drying nail polish, take up knitting. They told me that taking deep breaths and waiting 5 minutes to see if the urge goes away (it did). And if you fail, try again. I was 50 when I quit and it was really hard.  And totally worth it. Good luck and we'll help however we can.

Poor M and Bec. Hope you can remember some good times to wipe out/lessen the bad one.

FIA. We love you no matter what. I agree cancer is cancer. It all sucks. We understand better than most. Gutter gums away!

My husband had success with the patch. Got so he'd wear it for more than one day.

Cool pix. I'd love a torti but have plenty. Solid gray and 99.9% black. Still looking for a dog. For $20 I could get a pony!

I've decided Focktober is why my MO moved my appt up a month! But not my scan.

I am going to participate in the spa, facial, dinner and bra fitting at a local dept store. It's for bc. Hope them fitters are prepared!

I did manage to quit smoking for 3 months once.  It was cold turkey. One thing that REALLY helped, I unscrewed a ball point pen and "smoked" that.

But I'm still smoking now.  I know, BAD girl

Hello ladies! Hey Zills is it in that order? Don't you be drinking too much at that dinner or you may end up looking like Dolly Parton!

Fia all agreed, cancer is cancer! Love the cat in the flip flops! We call them "thongs", not to be confused with a "thong"!

I was also a degenerate. I gave up 7 years ago and I know just how hard it is. I had never had any luck when it came to will power. I went to a guy who is a naturopath, who does a session, based on the Allan Carr method. I went in there, expecting to come out, still smoking, but I did one session and never had another cigarette. I can't tell you what it was that did it, but it sure worked for me. I can even sit in a group who are smoking and I still don't want one.

Cigarettes are $20.00 a pack here now, I don't know if they do the same over there, but our government raises the taxes on them, all the time, to try to get people to stop.

When I first stopped, I went to a store that sold handbags and told the woman I wanted a bag that cost $125.00, she assumed I was buying a present and that was the budget, but I said no that is to remind me what I used to burn every week, in cigarettes. Six months after I gave up, I bought myself a diamond ring. I have stopped giving myself gifts, but I have saved a whole lot of cash!

OH, M,, that is wonderful motivation! Buying a pressie is a great idea!   I don't know the current price on cigarettes but they are taxed very highly. When we lived in NY, hubby smoked and we would drive over to NJ to buy cigarettes cuz the taxes were lower over there. When Bloomberg became mayor, he really jacked up the taxes.

We called them thongs when I was a kid,,, not sure how they evolved into flip-flops!! But no one seems to call them thongs anymore.

Fia:  keep up posted!!  We are here for you.

I was a degenerate too.  I quit over 20 years ago after a very bad cold.  I realized I hadn't smoked in 2 days, so decided to give it a try.  I'm not sure what helped the most.  I know I drank a lot of water and that kept my hands occupied.  I think it's similar to losing weight.  Sometimes you are just ready mentally to do it.

I really don't like the smell of cigarette smoke now,  but I do love the smell of good pipe tobacco.  My old boss used to get a custom blend that was one of the best smelling things on this earth.  This was back when we could still smoke in the work place.  He would light his pipe and I would just stand there and inhale it.  Loved it...can still kind of remember that smell.  Funny thing was, our whole area was protected by a halon fire-extinguishing system.  There were sensors everywhere...and he had this bad habit of standing under the sensors when lighting his pipe.  Big flame and lots of smoke .... lights would flash, alarms would sound, and security would come running.  Eventually they taught us how to reset the system ourselves, because if it ever were to dump, the cost to refill it was very expensive.

Wow! $20 a pack!! That might do it for me.  When I was soooo sick from chemo, I was down to 3-4 a day. DH said I should just quit.  Who ever said you have to be ready was right.  I'm not ready. I used to buy myself pressies if I made it through a year of work.  Even diamond ear studs one really bad year. But usually rings....had quite a collection.

I think my final attempt was the 3rd or 4th attempt. I would never take even one puff, I'm that afraid I would go back to it. I'm at the point now where it doesn't tempt me at all. I'm hoping DH doesn't die from the effects of 2nd hand smoke. At current prices I couldn't afford to smoke anyway.

M, We used to call them thongs here too. I don't know why it changed to flip flops. The little kids in Hawaii running around in them crack me up. I had some from India that had a toe loop and were made from water buffalo hide. They were stiff when you got them, so you soaked them in water and word them until they dried. They fit perfectly then.

Does anyone remember shrink to fit Levis? You put them in hot water and wore until dry. Then they were skin tight.

M, thinking of you and Bec and your Vi.  I think Bec misses V too.

Z!  I think the $20 pony is an excellent idea!!  Would have had a hard time passing that up.  Agree that G's work is extremely interesting to me.  I wanted that explanation too.  But we were gabbing so much at lunch I did not stop myself to ask for it.

FIA, ca is ca.  Sing out, sister!  Vent away. So proud you are going to quit smoking.  Agree about the plan -- you should have one.  Perhaps you should spend your cigarette money on yoga!  Clear out your breathing area!  Will be here for you.  I for one am going to be happy when you swear more.

Z, do not understand -- why would MO bump up your appt because of focktober?  I had my first sx in focktober.  Everyone thought I was a goner then (misdiagnosis).  Oh man.  It was horrifying.  Our sisters have all sorts of real reasons not to like focktober -- minimizing MBC, sexualizing bc, etc.  But I already hated focktober before I even thought of those things.

I reply to myself.  Writing while letting bobo in and out, childcare, making dinner, etc.  Thank you so much for all the happy anniversary wishes!!  We got about three hours off.  They had a special needs playgroup date (for our princess, with siblings).  It is once a month.  Drive there (far), drop them off, race to the movies, eat snack while watching, race back, pick up, make dinner...

UPDATE!  I am fat.  I know this is going to set M off, because she has gained back her .975 grams.  Weighed myself at the gym today.  Zut!  I am max fat!  How is my PS saying, Well, we have to save your fat, you do not have very much, I cannot waste it?  as he attempts to repair the hole in my area?  Apparently I have plenty, if you look at scale.  Fluid retention from sx?  More inactivity (from strapping on med device six hours a day?  I feel like I barely eat: shake for break, few bites of krishna lunch and throw rest in garbage on way to class, etc.  Zut!  I am maximum out of shape!

UPDATE!  MD having a party for her girlfriends she used to teach with.  She made a lasagna and said they would all get smashed (alcohol, more calories).  I said, can you eat lasagna?  She said, oh yes.  It does not have much ground beef in it.  (??)  How much is six ounces of lasagna?  And she made a 'key lime cake.'  So... I guess sweets are on like donkey kong!  ***cookie bomb did its work***

Wren: I remember you were supposed to soak in the tub wearing your Levis,, so that they would shrink to fit.  Must say,, I never did it.

Bobo:  you had movie date!!  YAY!  What did you see?? You are max fat??  You do not look max fat,, maybe scale is wrong. You look slim to me.  Are you getting enough protein?  We need to have lunch together more often.  **more sushi is good for you**

Everyone keeps telling me I look like I lost weight. I think I figured out why.  It's the damn chest compression.  One side is flat and the breast binder compresses the remaining one,,, so I think I look thinner cuz I look like nothing up top.  And of course,, there is nothing on one side,,, but I rarely wear Foob anymore, cuz I have to wear the compression.

LAUGHING at MD!!  cookie bomb did the job.   Still want to plan more for Halloween time!!  Weather should be cooler,, easier to send brownies, etc,,,,   We must plan new bomb !!  **excited for this**

G - Well, I thought I was not fat, but I was wrong!  I need to lose ten pounds, apparently!  Have not run (?) since this whole thing started.  Agree about sushi.  We saw... Lucy starring Scarlett Johansson.  DLLP loves sci fi.

Laughing about the chest compressor and weight loss!  I think you are very tiny and petite.

In other news I am going to go to very early meditation tomorrow.  I don't exactly rocket out of bed, but I really need something.  **extra help**

Lucy was good,, enjoyed that one.   And Guardians of the Galaxy was a hoot. Want to see upcoming Maze Runners.  Hoping that I can get in some movies while recuperating from surgery!

I am short  **midget** however hips are not petite,,, hahahahah,,, but the top half is small,,, smaller now !! I went out to walk Ava and yet another neighbor said:  "have you lost weight?"   No,, same weight for months now!! If anything, the abdomen is swollen from huge pregnant size uterus. *wearing only stretchy pants*   Lost one pound after MX,,wonder how much the fibroid-filled uterus weighs,,,, **stay tuned**

**smirking,, I know she ate cookies too**

OMG! Lasagne, booze and Key Lime Pie, I can't stop laughing, don't try to tell me MD is is eating a 2" square of each, done in the blender and drinking from a  thimble! She's off the wagon!

I remember the soaking in the tub with the Levi's on, I did it all, the bleach, hitting them with rocks to age them. I used to iron my hair and I slept with a leather jacket scrunched up under my mattress, to get the right patina. I tie dyed T shirts, cut the necklines from gray marle sweatshirts when Flashdance was released, you name it, any new fad got me in!

Ha, Bobo, and the rest!!!!!! That .975 grams was just the beginning, I have collected more fat over the Winter. I must get motivated to try to move it. I don't believe you are fat, but I know what it is like if you put on a few pounds when you are thin, it's worse than if you are, a bit chunky. Don't worry and put more stress on yourself about it, it will go!

Sunny today, must get some work done today. Bought more herbs for the garden and a Patio Tomato, whatever that means. Take it easy ladies....M x

Bobo, Hard for me to believe you're fat if you wear a small (tall) in EF. You could probably be a model for her. And remember that muscle weighs more than fat, so if you exercise the measurements go down as the weight goes up.

M, Patio tomatoes usually are the little round ones. They make up in quantity what they lack in size.

Thank you Wren! There wasn't an explanation on the tag. The Hippie I bought the last ones from is going to grow the ones I like, from seed for me. I will see him next month at the Farmers Market to pick them up. They are a real old fashioned one.

Hahaha Glennie, we have Hippies who live up in the nearby mountains who grow organic produce to sell at the markets, not too many left but they sell tie dye stuff too and bamboo flutes and such. I love it, they are probably close to my age and have always lived this way.

I know I have lost muscle tone. Waving bingo arms and jello jiggler thighs. It was awful looking in the mirror at Zumba. But it's too hot to wear pants.

I haven't seen a movie since the august in Osage county disaster. Wait. I saw two kid movies at the drive in this summer. Does that count?

I just figured the mo wanted to be sure I got my pink gift in oct:) Last year it was a spatula!

I need help figuring out a zombie costume. Must make time to see if any overalls at goodwill.

Need to check out those super soft shirts bobo raves about. My underarms burn or feel irritated sometimes. Can't decide if it's shaving, deodorant or if I don't realize my shirt is rubbing. Gotten so I prefer DHs cotton undershirts. Not very flattering.

Zut!  M.  You are NOT supposed to call hippies 'Hippies' to their faces!  That is NOT polite!  What am I going to do with you?  Loved that story of you and the trends so much, it made me smile.

How fat can you be while also having liposuction at the same time?  That's how fat I am.  OMG.  I am freaking out, I am not kidding.  I think it's too much -- haven't been able to run since this all started, on exercise restriction every six weeks or so for four weeks, can't get anything going, in painful rehabilitative machine jail, really do not feel in control of my body at all.

Yes, Z, supersoft is all I wear.  Go to gap.com and put in 'supersoft' in the search, and it will show you all they have.  NOTE FOR G who loves stretchy pants -- the only supersoft leggings are maternity -- F&*)(*! you, the gap! -- and I buy them anyway, they are not baggy, they are just cut lower. **I have two pairs**

ARGH,, Bobo,, that sucks!! No running,, can you do stationary bike at gym?  I know it's boring, but it would be exercise.

I couldn't get my jeans on last time I tried,, I swear my belly is bigger,, she said 14 week pregnancy but I think it is more. Which is not good, cuz hope she can still do the HX as planned if it is bigger,, too big and it will end up being full abdominal.  Whatever happens,, I'm getting spayed.  One week to go.

    Will look for supersoft,,,

edit:  2 lengths,,, 30 in or cropped 24 in??  weird.  30 is too long for short me.

It's midnight,, day 4 of 6 over.  2 more to work!  YAY!

I don't know how soft 'supersoft' is.. but I love my Lands End Starfish pants.  They are as comfy as wearing sweats, but they are dressy enough to wear to work.   I'm not saying they are dress pants, cause I work at a university and I could wear jeans if I wanted to.. but they look good enough.

did not see any tall lengths. I just wonder if the 30 in length would swallow my feet!  Perhaps need to see if they have them in the store and try them on.

Bobo~ happy late anniversary to you and DLLP. I am glad that you got a little bit of alone time :). I have been lurking, letting you all make me laugh and keep me sane, but haven't felt much like posting. This last round was horrid and I can only imagine what the big "double med" dose this Thursday will be like. This week is Carbo and Taxol, beginning of Round 3. Thankfully I only have 12 treatments left to go and will be done just before Christmas. Am at work today, just barely dragging by. The fatigue really seems to be the worst. Anyways, just wanted to let you girlies know that I was thinking of you and how much you all mean to me. Much love, Stacey
