Ariom, The itching is probably nerves healing. DH had bypass surgery and a year later it started itching.

Bobo, my little serial wedder! I would bring you morning tea in bed! I do that for Bec when she comes here. She loves it.
I am with Obama, how stupid, to not be married wherever you go, that's the silliest thing I have ever heard. It is time all this crap got dealt with, everywhere, and we could move on to other things. It should just be a done deal.....period!
Have you ever been to a high tea? I went to a friend's birthday High Tea at the posh Windsor, Hotel in Melbourne. It's a real "old money" kind of establishment with all the old silver and "antiques" everywhere, including the waiters:)
High tea is a terribly English pastime with tiered silver cake stands that have scones, jam and cream, layered sandwiches with the crusts off, beautiful handmade chocolates, and little pastries. Served with Champagne, and of course Tea. It drags on for hours, so you can imagine a lot of the old girls get a bit tipsy, because there isn't a lot of tea consumed when they are handing out the Champers! I, of course never get pissed/tipsy because I can't drink much these days. The Arthritis kicks in and I can't stand up from the table.
I was just telling Colin about your amazing talking cat. His old dog, who passed at 17 was a funny little terrier named Gizmo. He talked too, and would sit by me and say Moyyyyyrrrrra, I kid you not. Colin named him after Gizmo in Gremlins!
I digress, the workmen get Lemon Drizzle cake, and Soy Latte's. I make the coffee, with a machine, but I don't bake. All the workmen who come here talk about my latte's and cake. They don't usually get this kind of snack at work in the country. They laugh about me being from the city, but it's all just fun.
These drizzle cakes are fabulous, they come in Lemon, Chocolate, or Caramel. I am partial to the lemon. It is a heavy, but very moist cake, with zesty lemon icing drizzled on top and sprinkled with my fave....you know it...coconut!
Now, the Rites, no more than 3, Spin, Lie down, legs lifted, kneel up, lean back, feet and hands on floor push up table, hands, and toes on floor, fanny in the air, lower fanny, take weight on hands, head back. No more than 3 of these for at least a week, and then only increase by one rep. If any of the positions are too taxing, let me know. the book has easier alternatives.
Take it easy with the Green Vibrance too, just half a scoop in Almond Milk,or whatever you prefer. I am having the Vibrance every other day because I have lots of other stuff to finish. I am into one called Kalari Crush which is a blend of heaps of fruits from the desert and jungles, I know, I know, I am such a consumer, but this has great write ups, so I had to try it. I spoke with a nutritionist who said it is good to try a lot of these things because you get diffferent minerals etc from the different fruits etc. As for the Vibrance. I have been on a similar one for years, but the Vibrance has more in it, including the Spirulina which I always want to be consuming.
I love Bec's little place. It is old and quirky, but her taste is very alternative, and strange to some, but I like it. She, like me, has a love of Asian and Indian pieces. I have bought her heaps of saris and Ganesh Statues, big pouffy floor cushions when I travelled. The best part of her place is the beautiful view, across the street is the beach.
in touch with my Punk side, I like that. I never thought, when I first had the surgery, that I would get around half flat. I have no problem with it now, except when Lisa's kids are here, I still have a fear of scaring them. She tells me not to worry, but I'd hate for them to not want to come because I freaked them out as the boobless Granny!
I too, am blown away by all of you women and how you are all getting along so soon after Surgery, Rads, Chemo, Biopsies and Drugs. I also think about how like minded we all are, and how we all found each other on this enormous site, cue the Twilight Zone intro Do, do, do, do!!!!! But so glad we did!
I am with you Bobo, just as I know the others will be too. We want to go with you next week Zills, make sure you have big pockets for us all.
By the way Zills, I love that you went out scarfless, and weren't bothered. You have a great attitude. Bobo would say that was very Punk too!

Hey Wren,
I did think that it may be that. My surgeon warned me about "Phantom Sensations", not itching, but electric buzzy things that he explained as the two sections of nerves trying to find each other. He told me how much they can grow per month, and that some actually find each other again.
It is annoying, but nothing compared to the pain some have.
Does it go away? I mean, does your DH still feel it?

Bobo, kept meaning to say I love the picture of Bobo!
0 -
It IS punk, Z! You are a bad-*ss!
Okay, Tuesday 1:40 for Zills appointment. Be there or be square, everybody! TEN reps for the Rites. Did them with our baby! I have her all week: she is off from camp this week. I know, M, that you are going to say 'take it slow.' But Dr. O did ten in the video, and I followed along with him. I was once in quite good shape.
I did the Rites!
That is Bobo on Christmas day. He was up late, waiting for Santa, and then helping Santa. He usually puts himself to bed at eight sharp! And then he was up so early, with the children, and romped around and opened the presents, and then had a special Christmas breakfast, just as our two non-fur children did. And then... he put himself on the couch for a nap!

Ariom, The itching will go away after a while. Good thing too. I can't imagine itching for years.
0 -
Would it help to rub the area with something cool to confuse the nerves? I'm not looking forward to phantom itching.
I am officially bald. DH just took a razor to my head. It felt weird. I had male pattern baldness with patchy spots. Just in time for girls night out!
I really need a nap before I leave. Started laundry this morning but will finish it tomorrow. Got groceries and bills paid.
Have been rained on twice. Every morning it's sprinkled on the way to the pond and quit. Started out the same today but got more steady. No shelter between here and the pond. Stretching exercises were useless by the time I got home.
Welcome Bayoubabe.0 -
Granwe. How's the back? Any better or worse? Does stretching or a hot towel or pack make it better or worse? I guess it depends on the humidity.

Bobo... oh thank you so much for the wonderful surprise in my mailbox! I was a little late getting my mail today and I work part-time as sectretary for an agriculture business, so had my package with me when I got to the office and opened it and squealed with delight! how nice of you! I was explaining to the manager, who is a dear friend about you, and of course I got all teary eyed telling the story of us gals! He is such a sweetheart, much younger than me, in fact he is the age of my youngest son, and he is married to a little Chinese gal and have a darling little girl! He just thought what a great thing to do ! I will sleep great tonite for sure. keep up the good work! I love hearing about your plans!
Ariom: I finally got myself some silicone strips to put on my scar, The package says they can be cleaned and reused?? did you ever do that? well sure worth a try.

Bobogirl, I have been the same way... I am thrifty generally.. will stretch a dollar... we've worked very hard for what little we have, paid my way through college..etc etc.. Joe was laid off right after we bought the house, so income dropped dramatically.. we're just getting back on our feet, so I still have to be careful... but NOW all bets are off... within reason.. if I want something I am getting it. If I want to go somewhere, I am going.. the future is here now. Its hard breaking that mold tho, so I still feel guilty when I splurge, like I did at Yankee. I start thinking it could have gone for this or that, more practical things. F practical.
I am loving the presents, you are going to be recording artists and will be putting out a tooting album of tunes! That's a fun present! And I love this.... "I play basketball with my punky friends on the lower east side and wear my old ripped pixies t-shirt to bed kind of people" .. as this is how I roll too lol.
Pudding pie!!! Joe made one again last night.. he is so proud that he can make this damn thing. I am not really a pudding fan, but it's good, so I keep my mouth shut over it. He even makes me little pudding cups from the leftover.. again, not a pudding fan, but it's so sweet I act like its the most lucious thing I have ever eaten. Don't tell on me.
You keep claiming you don't like shopping, but I am seeing a closest shopaholic in you.... QVC while ironing haha. Yes, these are all signs.
No, the brown polish is disgusting.. I am not a fan of the color brown unless it is the form of a dark chocolate bar. Industrial gray with a little blue.. I am with DLLP on that one.. gross. I do like the name. I've never tried black.. i think the powers to be at work would frown upon that color.
I didn't know they made organic tattoo ink.. would that be henna?

Moira, I get a mental image of you trying to scurry past the computer. You are unflappable, so I am sure that the tilers only saw a picture of elegance when you greeted them.
100 bottles of nail polish!! HAHAHA.. you are SO bad!
I didn't even think of the other exit being sewed up in the jockeys!! There's a lot of men out there that need that sewed up!
I have not reached the phantom itch stage, yet another thing to look forward to! I do still feel like the other breast is there at times, especially when I get cold.. it's so bizarre to have the phantom breast.
Dinner is here.

Hello everyone!
Bobo, I am so thrilled you did the Rites, but yes, you know what I am about to say, you know me so well! LOL
10 is too much to start. I don't want to sound like a killjoy. I know Dr. Oz does 10, but he didn't start with ten either. He says 3 in the video too.
The book says 3 only, irrespective of fitness, and work up slowly, by one or two reps a week. I too, could have done many more than 3, but my friend kept insisting that it wasn't prudent to begin with more than 3. He still contacts me each week to be sure I am not increasing too fast. He has been doing it for 8 years, and built up to 21, over the first year.
It should be a process, taken slowly because of the "internal changes" that are taking place. The book warns of possible unpleasant detox effects. I had several of them, even with such a slow start up. I don't want you to risk a bad experience, that will cause you to stop.
I am staying on 7 reps till I go back to the Surgeon in a few weeks, just to be sure. I am not usually such a wuss about stuff, but the book and my friend have made me paranoid about overdoing it. I still try to do an hour walk after it, as the rest of my workout.
Don't get me wrong, I am really, really pleased you're doing the Rites! It's a wonderful thing!
End of rant! Boy, do I sound like your Mother?
I love that Bobo does Christmas with the children. That's so cute, and an 8 o'clock bedtime!
Is our Princess ok? Did camp finish?
Wren, thank you for that reassurance, I would hate to think I 'd have this itch long term.
Zills, I don't know if rubbing with something cool will help, but I'll try it!
I am so in awe of your wonderful attitude. I think losing your hair would be an awful experience, but you handle it so well! Bring on the girls night out! Have a ball!
I hate walking in the rain, well a few minutes is ok, but then it gets tired. Did I tell you I found the key to my treadmill? No excuses to not walk every day for me.
I want to be with you, Zills on the appointment too! We are all going with you!
Gramwe, and ldesim are busy. I hope you're both well...chat later....M x

Kangaroo doesn't sound appealing at all and yes, I was surprised to learn that they were considered vermin. To us they seem to be adorable with their babies in pouches and hopping along. Same with Koalas, but I saw those disgusting things first hand. Is dingo the wild dogs you have? There was the most adorable wild dogs that we saw, they were very fuzzy and I wanted to take one home with me.
I love both the names of the OPI red polishes... the rockstar one is fantastic. Red is not a color I like in makeup, I don't feel it looks good on me.
How did the rites go Bobogirl? I think I am going to start Thursday or Friday... I think by then I should be over the worst of the radiation aftermath. I will start with 3 repetitions and maybe add a little hand weight excercises as well. I need upper arm toning as well. Weather permitting I will also add some brisk walks.
Chocolate and orange and chocolate and raspberry are yummy, but chocolate and lemon? I dunno about that.
Zills, I am with you all the way.. plain dark chocolate, nothing else added!
I will not go in public without a head covering.. I just can't seem to do it, even now with a covering of hair, I will not go out without something on my head. Just can't do it.. I know it's ridiculous in the whole scheme of things, but I can't help it. I'm proud of you Zills.
I am going to try zumba too even though I am so uncoordinated.. I might get the WII game, I have that thing just sitting around, might as well get some use out of it instead of just being another dust collector.
We're there with you Zills.. how many more after this? Remember, drink lots of water before and after.

ndgirl,
I was about to get to the shower, refreshed the page, and there was your post and ldesim too. The shower can wait!
I have to wait for my gift to come with a parcel from the US address I have in Sarasota. I am so thriled to hear you girls speak of yours. How amazing is that Bobogirl! i am excited just thinking about it.
So glad you got the silicone strips. I love them! I used them religiously on my hand surgery years ago. You can barely see the scar now.
Yes, I wash and reuse mine for the Mx scar too. I bought Silicone Fx a strip that was 22 inches long and about 1 inch wide. I cut it in half and it fits my scar with a small overlap at each end. I wash it every 3 or 4 wears, in very hot water and body wash. The hot water seems to make the sticky surface feel like new again. I tend to alternate the two strips, I only use them at night, and during the day I massage with aromatherapy oils to keep the skin supple.
I have seen a massive improvement in my scar. I started using them just weeks after the surgery. It is almost all white now, and although I had a section that opened up a bit with an infection, so is wider, the rest of it is so fine you can barely see it.
I sure hope you get a good sleep tonight...Take care M x

Wouldn't Bobogirl only be a serial wedder if she was wedding different people?
Moira, one of my former bosses used to go with her GF's yearly for a high tea... she loved it. Of course, it was the US version of a high tea and lacking in the customary pomp and circumstance. Tea isn't something hugely popular in the US.. I think the majority of citizens are coffee drinkers and the only tea that is generally consumed is iced tea in summer.
Bobogirl, How are you feeling after the rites?? Are you all energetic?? Love the Bobo pic! Love even more that he puts himself on the couch for a nap. So let me get this straight.. there is you, DLLP, DS, DD (aka the precious princess), a talking cat, a napping/neighbor backyard pillaging dog.. and was there another furbaby?
Zils, welcome to baldness at least its cool in the summer.

Dropped by late night, to say a quick Hi before bed. Back is feeling much better.
I have a humorous, or at least it is to me, story to share. Don't know if I've ever told you that the OG has the patience of a saint, and the temper of one too. In 30 years I've only witnessed him angry about 3 times. One those occasions he did not raise his voice, in fact he talks soft and kinder. This point is important to the story.
Last night he ventured into the kitchen for his nightly snack. I asked him to bring me my F femara and warned him jokingly not to touch the pills, since they are evil, and I didn't want him contaminated. He returned with his ice cream in his good hand, and my pill in the other. Again I joked that not only was he holding evil, he was holding it in the hand that still has open wounds so that junk would leech into his blood stream. We both went to sleep shortly after. I slept well, him not so much. It seems he had a very vivid, bad dream. Our house was over run with a group of wild kids, toys were everywhere, they had BBQ a chicken after putting a charcoal grill into the hot tub. Then they flooded the house. He was sweeping water out of the house, chasing kids with the broom, while yelling and cursing at the kids. He was furious. Then he awoke, still mad as hell. He got up, sat in the living room trying to calm down. He said never in his life had he been so angry in a dream and never had he awoke angry from a dream. Now he handles the pill bottle with an oven mitt, he said he isn't taking any more chances with my anger in a bottle. I told you that stuff is bad news. Lol.
Goodnight sweet dreams. Lol0 -
Gram, that's so funny!

ldesim, Hi there, I nearly missed you!
Gosh you make me laugh, what makes you think I am unflappable? If you could see me first thing, makeupless, and boobless, bad hair, in my big fleecy dressing gown. So not a good look, and I could win a medal for how fast I can get to the bathroom when someone comes in the front gate.LOL
Yes, Dingo's are the native dogs here. There are some people that try to domesticate them, they have to have permits to have one. I don't believe they are ever truly a domestic pet. There have been many attacks on people by them, and I am sure you've seen the story of Azaria Chamberlain, the baby that was taken at Ayers Rock, Uluru. Her Mother was jailed for murder, but it was the Dingo that took the baby. Merryl Streep played Lindy, the Mother in the movie. It was a terribly sad and awful story of a family torn apart by our idiot legal system and Police force.
I am another dark chocolate lover! Colin loves dark chocolate too, but his fave is Chilli Dark Chocolate.
How did I miss you losing your hair? Am I in denial? I knew you had conquered the Rads, but I don't remember you talking about the hair thing, till yesterday, was it? When you casually mentioned it. I am in awe, of both you, and Zills.
I still feel like the other breast is there too! Also, I can look at where the nip used to be, and I can feel it!
I'm so pleased you are interested in the Rites too, 3 is perfect. I explained it to Bobo in above post. You'll feel you can do more too. There is a modified exercise for each of the 5 Rites if you feel any are too hard on your chest.
I have been out to run errands for Colin, and was surprised this post was still here when I returned.
Take care...M x

Gramwe, that's a wonderful story. That stuff is evil!
The OG sounds like such a lovely man.
Take care, sleep well! M x

Poor OG. Maybe he will put in his two cents when you go to the dr and you can get a new script. I guess it's really not hard to believe its that powerful. I know some of the stuff they use on horses I wasn't allowed to touch and one in particular would leave a nasty taste in your mouth ASAP.
Had fun with the girls last night. We were back at the campgrounds. It rained so we had dessert inside. It broke up early since everyone had to work. I wish I had known my friend was spending the night and not going home too. I would have brought my pjs and meds. Could have borrowed some pjs but those @&$% meds kept me from some fun!
Today is my big day. Up early. Want to get in my walk and exercises before it rains again. Our grass is green and lovely. Reminds me of Ireland.
Have housework and paperwork to try to keep me occupied this morning since the appt is after lunch. The first two were total opposites so not sure what to expect except a long day. They are pushing Thursday patients to Tuesday for the holiday (Independence Day).
I don't have any pockets on my
outfit but will take a bigger purse. My purses were usually the size of Bobo's pillow until I graduated to diaper bags. So you all will ride in my purse. Be glad I don't tuck my phone in my bra! That's what one side of my family does with no
pockets and little kids. It's funny to watch the little ones imitate their Mom and Yaya (grandmother).
Baby up. Hope she's not as snotty. Probably sinus as she doesn't seem to feel bad but not eating much. I just don't want it. Of course she is cutting teeth but don't think it would make that much snot. Was hoping the clorinated pool water would help. She kept putting her face in the water. She's a hoot!0 -
Hey Zills, been wondering how you are today. So glad you had a fun night with the girls, but stuff those bloody meds, for ruining a sleepover, another time, perhaps?
Sorry it's going to be a long day for you, but we'll be here if you need to vent about it later!
I hope the baby has stopped making snot, but as I recall they do that a lot! Just as long as you don't catch anything and she hasn't got a temperature, it may be an allergy.
I had a very laid back day today. It was really warm and sunny, so I spent some time ouside. The tiler came and finished the laundry, and I called and organised the painters to come when they finish their next job in a couple of weeks. I will be nice to finally have everything finished that we started over a year ago.
I am happy to be in your purse today!.......Take care, and let us know how you do....M x

Scoot over Moira give me some room in Zills purse. Know I will be with you today too. Hope you get in a nice walk this morning, you would need an umbrella if you were here, the rain has already started, again, and for the remainder of the week. Some babies get snotty with teething. I remember my oldest son always being snotty. Then again that was 31 years ago so my memory may be wrong.
Oh my it's garbage day, the cart is at the top of the driveway. Best jump into some clothes and let it pull me down the hill. Sure don't want to miss the truck. Be back later. Hugs0 -
Zills, I am already in your purse! If you go to put a book in there, don't crush me
Will be back more to respond to all of these hilarious posts. Meantime.. F Femara!

No book. Have to do my Jin shin. Hold thumb 5 minutes, hold index finger 5 minutes and hold pinky 5 minutes. I always have visitors and there's a tv. Will have a bottle of water in my purse. I always pee the red devil before I leave. I'm well hydrated. Just pretend you all are log rolling like those competitions. Lets see who can roll the longest. Is it Ariom who does rites and walks the ramps? Is it Bobo who has the tenacity to work mulitple job, raise kids and sew/knit in her spare time plus plan a big surprise? How about Granwe who's on some mean drugs? She might kick some @ss if you try to push her off? Wren backpacks with cougars. Nd gardens and mows. Those weeds are tough. And Idesim has been this route. She might hang in the longest as she completed both chemo AND rads. Thank you ladies. It's an entertaining picture especially if you all forget your foobs!

Good morning! Better get a bigger purse Zills cause I am moving in there too!! and if you drop a book, make it a good one, cause I love to read! hope baby is ok, I too remember lots of snotty noses with teeth, allergies, you name it. Thinking of you all day.
Gramwe: What a hoot that story is.. love it and you sense of humor to tell OG that, oh the power of suggestion and our minds.
Beautiful day here, I have a partime sec job for an agriculture company so have to get that done and get ready for 4th of July celebrations, another parade for 125 years celebration in our county seat town, this one should be a good time, hubby will shine the 57 Chevy up again. I was expecting our grandaughter to come for visit but just got word the 4 year old fell off the monkey bars last nite and fractured her arm and is going in for a cast... she wants a purple one!! of course she does! gdaughter are 2, 4, and 6, g.sons are 11,13, 15, 17, and 2 step gkids,7, and 9! what a bunch, wish we could get together more often but it just doesnt happen, some live too far apart.
Will check back in later to catch up on everyone.
0 -
ndgirl, that sounds so fun!
Are you making lunch for the celebration? What are you making?
Zills, I don't know how you can even pick up that purse! Hope it has extra-strong straps...
WARNING: Bad girls in your purse. There may be beer in your purse!

I am standing by you right now Zills, we are all standing by, darling girl. You stalwart. F the red devil! And take the names of anyone who makes you feel badly. We will be on it.

No I am not making lunch or anything, maybe I posted wrong, no one will come to stay, and the son with the boys and steps, will not be here at all, they live in WI, and just talked to son that daughter broke arm and they probably arent coming now either, we will just go to the celebration in the neighboring town and eat the food they are selling to everyone!! I would love to have them all here at once and I would cook anything they want, but that just doesnt happen, everyone has their own busy lives.. family in WI own a little ice cream store, old fashioned surroundings and hard ice cream, it is actually in Afton, MN just across the St. Croix river, it is a darling place, called Selma's, oldest ice cream shop in MN, good place for kids to work and learn how business operates. Last year we were there for the 4th, fun but it was 103 degrees and terribly humid.. whew!
Talk later gals.

Guess I need to get a map out. How far is ND from WI? Sorry a out the broken arm.
Just had Jin shin. Waiting to see dr. Have to pee. But don't want lose my turn. Ready for a nap.
Purse very heavy. Hubby carrying it. It's striped with a big sunflower on it. And you can only carry it on your arm. Doesn't match his outfit!0
