    Hi Painterly!

    Lovely pictures!

You know what? I am noticing a big difference in the "Claw" too. I never thought that I would shift that awful grasping thing, but since doing the Rites, mine has diminished significantly too. It used to happen to me when I got tired, and I would have to hold onto my right armpit with the other hand. Now I am even noticing a bit more feeling coming back to where I was absolutely dead numb.

The other realy noticible thing for me is a real reduction in postural vertigo. I used to spin out when I turned over in bed, and could occasionally get a bit unsteady if I leaned my head back to look for something on a high shelf.

I was really very wary, initially, about the spinning, but I can do it without getting dizzy now. That's a real bonus.

I have only missed one morning of the Rites since I started, but I have kept to the 7 reps till I go for my next checkup in a few weeks. I just want to make sure my chest is all healed properly before I start moving into the higher reps, particularly the downward dog, because I feel that really stretching that chest area out. I an't see it being an issue, but I think it's wise to check.

I am surprised too, by the amount of bras with pockets. I have bought a few of the Ahh Bra types, but now I am loving the sports tanks, and camis that have the same pockets with little inserts. I find they all work really well with the Micro Bead Foobs. I bought a few from Marika, online. They had a 40% off the already reduced prices, so they were super cheap, I now know my sizes and can keep buying from there. I can't really send stuff back because of the prohibitive postage costs.

    Take care....M x

ldesim. forgot to answer your question on the Soy.

Apparently, soy has estrogenic (sp) properties and although there have been studies done, there is no clear answer. For some reason, here in Oz, lots of people have the idea that it is an absolute no, no. I don't agree, but I have had those "withering looks" from some "experts" telling me that I have already had a scare, and eat lots of soy products, so why would I continue. Am I mad? I don't believe so. I continue because I don't eat dairy. I also have coconut milk, almond, rice and oat milks, and I eat whole soy, not much processed soy.

I try to have a fairly balanced diet, but you can't please everyone!

Have you noticed how lots of people suddenly become experts on BC, and what's good for you? WTF!

Great advice Wren! I contacted Mary, and she made my microbead foobs for me and posted them to me. Very reasonable cost, and beautifully made.

The website has wonderful tips and Ideas too. It was there I learned about having a dedicated salad spinner in the laundry for the Mx bras. Just hand wash, don't wring, and put in the spinner, then hang out to dry. They will stay like new for ages.

I also bought ready made pockets that have been overlocked around the edges for you to hand sew into a swimsuit or a bra. Amoena sells those.

I had trouble finding lycra material too, so I went to a thrift store and bought some swim suits and cut them up for the lycra. I have a girlfriend coming to stay soon, who is a sewing expert. I am going to ask her to sew a couple in for me.

I had a great time at the opp shop today. Lots of goodies! I got a barely used ski jacket and pants for me and a ski jacket for Colin to wear on the boat. I found some great, brand new shoes for Bec, and a couple of lovely warm scarves, still in the bags with tags. It was a fun morning!

    Take care everyone....M x

We celebrated Idesim's graduation with lemonade. My son squeezed all the lemons. He loves lemonade and to help.

The anticipation about losing my hair was worse than reality. I chose to keep cutting it shorter and shorter. My husband shaved his head too and my son thought it was cool. I'm just glad it's summer. I find wigs to be tight and hot. It's my choice to be bald.

I try to equate the hair loss with the meds working. One hair follicle gone equals one cancer cell gone. I also imagine Mrs. Pacman eating the cells in my lungs. Chomp chomp.

How soon after surgery did you start the rites? I'm 8 weeks out. Probably can't do the downward dog. But it's good to know about the spinning. I too suffer from vertigo issues.

Baby destroyed the house this am. My sister coming to take me to return those @*%# water shoes. Need to get started so I can get in my walk and exercises but I'm going to indulge myself and watch my favorite cartoon, Jakers! It's an Irish cartoon and it actually comes in on rabbit ears every morning. Plus I use the time to massage my sides.

Have you ever tried to make your own rice milk? The Mexicans call it rice water or horchata. It's wonderful iced with cinnamon on a hot day. Doesn't make your belly hurt. I'm still trying to get the recipe since its so much better from scratch.

Hi there Zills, I think there is a psychic connection. I just happened to look at the computer when you posted!

I am so impressed by your attitude, you have a great strength about you. Your visualisations are great!

I think I was about 4 months out when I started the Rites. Have you looked at the demonstrations on YouTube? If you can possibly get the books first. I would recommend them. Especially book 2 which has the alternative poses. I do the modified number four which is "The Table". I have bad shoulders from the Rheumatoid, so I alternate this exercise so I don't have too much pain. I really have to say that the Rites are working for me. It won't be for everyone, but taking it super slow, just 3 reps, for as long as you need, and you'll still see benefits.

The whole aim of these poses is supposed to get the Chakras operating in sync. Whether you believe those aspcts or not is irrelevent. Even those who have no interest in the story behind the Rites, still reap the rewards. I can't believe I have improved so much on the dizzy stuff!

Enjoy your Jakers, I've not heard of that one. I hope it isn't too hot for you today, and your  outing with your Sister is fun.

    Take care....chat soon! M x

M, I love your pee yellow tartan!  I looked it up.  Your talk of tartans made me want to look up my own tartan!  As I was saying, I have only recently 'discovered' I am half-Scot.  Don't know much about my father's background, never looked up my surname.  My mother's side is Italian and pennsylvania Dutch.  I love being Scottish!  It's funny -- I think I told you -- my one thing I have ever wanted in life was to have a little tiny cottage in Scotland -- having never been there (only to London) -- with a thatched roof, and goats, somewhat near Edinburgh.  Always had a 'hankering' for it.  Now I know why!

Love all the different beverage celebrations.  BTW, I eat soy too.  I think I would do more research on it if my tumor had been estrogen +++.  But I have a friend who is a hospital nutritionist, and he agrees soy is okay for me.

Zills, thinking about your Tarte colors!  You have started me thinking.  Watch out!  You have more than one 'sister' to go lipstick shopping with!

ARIOM!  IDESIM! Hope you are listening.  Ariom, I have a serious Op shopping mission for you.  Guess what?  The supreme court here just had a ruling on gay marriage.  It doesn't impact my state specifically -- some states 'block' some of the rights -- but it gives us FEDERAL rights and privileges for the first time!

Although we have had several ceremonies, actually (gay people have to get civil unions or domestic partnerships whereever they are, sometimes, in order to share health benefits), we have not been married in one of the 'marriage states' (there are twelve).  If you do have a marriage there, you get Federal rights.  Even if your state isn't a marriage state.  All of this happened yesterday at 10 a.m.!  I'm sure idesim knows all about it, since MA is one of the marriage states..

Anyway, I am going to 'pop the question' to DLLP on her birthday!  I am going to plan a Thanksgiving-week wedding with the kids!  In...Idesim...in... BOSTON!  DLLP has dear friends in a suburb.  My work friends are based out of Framingham.  And... you are there!   Do you want to go shopping with me at Eileen Fisher?  And lipstick shopping?  So excited.

I am ordering rings from the PA jeweler who designed our wedding rings -- very modest ones, something in my budget.  And, Ariom, will you op shop for the children's outfits?  I will give you sizes.  It would mean so much if you picked out the outfits!  Let me post now before I lose this..

I reply to myself.  Anyway, I am going to keep costs low -- and we so rarely travel with the kids, really we never go anywhere -- we have never flown with them.  But I just got this new job, and I'm going to budget it in.  I've got flight points of some kind with my credit card, and 'companion ticket' something, and I'm finally going to use them (if they don't blackout Thanksgiving week).  I'll have the time off.  I'll get the adult wedding outfits on a good sale, and I'll get something we could wear to work also -- a really lovely handkerchief linen shirt for DLLP, for example.  We will just pick up flowers at a flower shop somewhere, or at whole foods -- nothing fancy.

So M, if you choose to accept this mission, go Op shopping and pick out a dress for my baby!  And a handsome shirt and pants for DS.  I am paying, of course -- you are personal shopper!  You get to pick!  How happy will you be when you go Op shopping now?  Let me know if you accept, and I will give sizes.

I guess you can see I am super-excited about this.  It's stupid that we have to have ceremonies over and over again -- but so what?  I love to get married!  And anyway, this looks like it could be the big one.  Couples are going to marry in marriage states, then file suit in their home states, punk-style.

You are all the very very first to know!  XXXXX

Hi Ladies, lots of chats going on.

Welcome to Mamy and Maggi.  I had a BMX and do love going flat.  Even after almost 2 years, if I wear a bra with prothesis, I can't make it more than a few hours without discomfort.  It feels like I've had a band-aid on my chest.  I've been told it's due to all of the tissue being removed.  Our tissue allows our skin to breathe.  Anyway, I have found one camisole with a built-in bra (where the wide, soft, elastic is only across the front) that I love.  I can wear this all day with my lightweight, foam foobs and not be too uncomfortable.  The brand is Luisa Luisa.  They are cotton and come in different colors.

    Hugs,

    Deb

Bobogirl, Please check right away on Turkey Day blackouts (I used to be a travel agent). I hope the days are good and you have a wonderful time and a beautiful wedding. WA is one of those wedding states and I have so many friends who have finally been able marry. It's wonderful that same-sex couples are finally getting a fair shake.

Thank you Wren!  I know -- worried about the blackouts -- but I wanted to do it when we both had some time off...  would welcome your travel agent expertise!

Regarding MRIs, which were discussed earlier... I'm really scared of them.  Given what I've just been through -- and what Idesim has just been through -- it seems, relatively, that 'it wouldn't be so bad,' but that noise really scares me.  And then, the first time I had one, it was for that first tumor, and all of it was so horrible.  So after doing several completely sober MRIs, and crying through them while trying not to move, I now do two ativan.

Idesim, do not feel badly if you did not enjoy that MRI!  I think they are pretty scary.

That's so exciting Bobo. I'm so happy for you all. Did the kids participate in your other ceremonies? M is going to have so much fun shopping!

My boss said she actually naps during her MRIs but she grew up by the train tracks. I can't imagine. There's nothing wrong with a little relaxation drug during these stressful times.

Dinner has arrived. Sandwiches. Too hot for anything else.

    OMG, BOBO!!!!!!

Yes, of course I accept the challenge. I am so excited for you!

Please give me two sets of measurements, one set of the actual children, and another of clothing that fits them. The clothing should be laid flat on a table and measured accross the flat. Chest waist, and hips, and full length.

There is some kind of magic global shift going on, because same sex marriage is going to be the biggest debate on our Politcal agenda. We've just reverted back to the Prime Minister we had, who was overthrown by the one that was just ousted. I couldn't give a crap, they are both pretty useless, but I would love for same sex marriage to be brought in across the board too. I have friends who long to be "really" married too.

Wren is right, you need to get online NOW to check for tickets. Gosh, I am so p'd off. If United hadn't pulled the plug on us when they did, I would have my travel rights, and you could have gone as my companions. No point in crying over lost benefits!

Oh and F MRI's or anything else that scares our girlfriends!

I am happy dancing for you Bobo.........M x

Painterly, I too have noticed that a lot of bras have the pockets, I didn't realize padding ones bra was so popular.  I bought a couple of the Coolie (I think that's the name) bras and I like them.

The MRI was ok.. it was just odd with all the banging going on, but the techs did say that a majority of people get claustrophobic in them.  I had a heavy.. I don't know how to refer to it... "thing" laid down my middle and I wasn't too crazy about that, it made breath in, breath out part a bit difficult at times and did make me a bit anxious. I would do the MRI any day again over the brain scan.. hated that one.

I didn't even think of that Moira, of course there is no way to be in touch.. that's so very sad.. I do hope you get to visit him again.  It is supposed to be beautiful there.

I didn't realize that about soy, very interesting and YES everybody has their 2 cents.. I only listen to half of it.. F that :)

I'm glad you had a successful opp shop trip.. it really sounds like so much fun.. but it sounds like you got everybody a pressie except for Dex!! :)  i bet you go bonkers at Xmas.

Zills I love your outlook on the hair loss.. chomp chomp chomp!!!! Take that cancer cells!

Ok.. have to stop here... dinner's a coming! *runs off hearing wedding bells*

When is DLLP's bday? Soon I hope!!! How are you going to propose.. I just love this! Seriously it's about time with the ruling.. why are ppl so threatened by this, I just don't understand.. anyhow.. this is exciting!  I looked it up.. but I think the Eileen Fisher stores here are rather small with the two shopping plazas that I know they are in.  I'd go with you, but be forewarned I am the worst shopper in the world and tend to start whining like a little kid if stuck in a store for a long period of time!!!  For you though, I would be have as best as I could lol.  I want to know how you are going to propose.. romantic dinner?  I'm happy this came about for you.. but Its annoying how long the wait has been, it's just not fair.

    lol scotch burps.

ldesim, don't you dare drop us for Facebook!:)

So glad you got a little respite from the heat. I sat on the couch with a blankie, and The Dex this afternoon for an hour, and read a book.

I then started to do the final clear out of my dressing room. I need to get it cleared for the friends that are coming on the 8th. I am seeing stuff that I haven't thought about since we moved. I found the key to my treadmill!!!! I have been looking for that for ages, it doesn't work without it, and I couldn't get another.

I have more bags of stuff for the opp shop. l get to have a bit of a sleep in tomorrow. Colin's morning girl is having the day off, so I am getting Colin up, when I am ready! LOL  Seriously, he loves a sleep in too. It will be the first, since we have been here. I might do breakfast in bed and drag it out till lunchtime!

I do plan to do a trip to Vietnam again some time. It is truly beautiful. I loved the short time I spent there. Unfortunately, I never got there with Vi. He insisted that I would get sick if I went to his village. I am sure he was right, it was, is, pretty basic.

I want to know about the proposal too. I am not familiar with Eileen Fisher. I must take a look.

I am nervous, but thrilled, about the childrens outfits too, I need information about likes and dislikes, what the theme may be? Colors? Then I have to find it at an opp shop!!!!! It's OK, I am up for it! Colin calls me "Tinny", he says I just have to think about something I might want, and it turns up at the opp shop. He's not wrong!

I hope everyone is doing fine...I'll check back later.......M x

I am just getting ready for bed.

I am missing Gramwe too. Lots going on there with the OG and the Doctors appointments, and the cooking for the masses. I don't know how she does it. I hope she's having a sleep in.

Sorry you missed your nap yesterday. I'd probably set an alarm if you are going to be baking:)

Are you a long way from town?

We are supposed to have a great weekend too. It was really nice and warm this afternoon, but it's freezing now.

We will all be with you next week, make sure you have big pockets!

I'm alive! Busier than a one armmed paper hanger. Too busy evidently, the claw has had me in its clutches, and the right arm seems a bit painful. The drive for therapy yesterday was hellish with a seat belt grinding into the scars. I bitched, I moaned, I cried, basically I have been having some depressed days. The mailbox has been bombarding me with bills! BUT then yesterday I drudged my way to that dreaded mailbox, it was so full the little door wouldn't even close. Inside was a squishy package that changed my whole attitude. THANK YOU BOBOGIRL! The pillow fits perfectly behind the seatbelt, I had to go for a drive just as a test, after hiding the chocolate bar from the OG. My priceless artwork and card are both displayed by the bed, so I can see them first and last thing of my day. Your care package was exactly what I needed! It is a reminder that I am actually cared about too. So much of my time has been devoted to the OG that I was neglecting me, your sweet gift reminded me that I need a bit of pampering too. Thank you my sweet friend. As soon as I heard the news of the Supreme court ruling I got so excited, this is going to change the lives of so many people. Congratulations on your upcoming engagement. How sweet, I love a wedding!

Moira, how exciting you get to shop for the wedding parties clothes. I just know you will pick out the perfect outfits. Hope you and Colin get to enjoy a sleep in, and breakfast in bed.

Zills, you reminded me that I have a lot of bananas in the freezer that need to be turned into bread. Up until a few years ago I would throw away browning bananas, then a friend told me to just toss them in the freezers still in the skin for future bread making, they make the bread very moist. Will have to wait until it gets a bit cooler here, right now turning on the oven isn't even a consideration.

Idesim, send us some cool air please. Yesterday we had thunder, lightening, wind, and 16 drops of rain, the humidity is oppressive. Even so I have dandelions a foot tall so grass mowing is in my today's to do list. Oh goody!

True to form that weasel is back to his old tricks. This time he isn't breaking my daughters heart just making her very determined. Her roommate is to move out this weekend, and the weasel has signed the new lease to move in, as the roommate! Seems he has been seeing someone else on the sly. She is keeping him around until she can find a new roommate to take over his part of the bills. Her new motto, "I need a man, like a fish needs a bicycle." Lol

Therapy time. Drug time. Lawn mowing time. Y'all have a good day/night, I'll be back soon. Hugs to everyone.

Zills:  I am ready to be in your pocket next week!  Let us know what time so we can think of you.  How did the bread turn out?

Gramwe, that's just what that pillow is for!  Made it myself.  Pretty proud of it!  Also you can take it to bed.  When I had my sx, a lady I didn't know made me one and left it at my house.  I had no idea what it was for.  But I figured it out pretty quickly!

Therapy?  Meds?  Mow lawn?  Which one of these things does not belong?

Ariom, many thanks for being the personal op shopper for the children!  So excited.  Will do measurements this weekend.  Neither is home right now -- both at camp.  Hooray!  I should tell you -- and idesim can do it better than I can -- it might be nippy there in November.  BTW, if Thanksgiving week doesn't work with flights, I'm going to do this long weekend here surrounding Homecoming for football -- the entire town shuts down, I won't have class.  That's in October.  Idesim, stand by to be available!  You are M of H!!  Badgirl M of H.  I hope you're going to be like, Oh, F that.  They're making you stand in a different line.  Hey, buddy, line leader, F you!  F this flower holder -- just hold the bare stems.  And then, Oh, I love this cake!  :)

Regarding EF shopping -- why don't we go to the Company Store?  I looked it up; it's in Burlington MA.  Does that sound right?  Twelve minutes away.  We will go early, you won't have time to whine, we will try things on and have a giggle, then we will go to lunch!

Ariom -- no worries about the frequent flier miles!  I am going to find a way, somehow.  Definitely very costly -- esp. for four tickets.  But I'm hoping something magical will happen.  This (umpteenth) wedding is really cheering me up.  Designing the rings!

Idesim, I am going to propose during her birthday next Sunday!  I think I'm going to get a birthday card, signed by all of us, and then another card, an obviously wedding-like card, and write it in the card.  Will you marry me again in beautiful... Massachusetts during Thanksgiving?!  She loves MA.  And she never gets to go on a trip.  And yesterday she sent me a marriage equality thing from the HRC, and I wrote back I can't read this now, I am teaching, and it doesn't really apply to us anyway.  Tricking her!  Plus I ordered up many fun birthday presents.  More on that coming up.

Yay Ariom!  You found your treadmill key!  Probably you threw it in there one day so you wouldn't be able to do the treadmill, if I know you, naughty girl.  How was your breakfast in bed, and what did you have?

The care packages made me so happy.  Granwe, just starting your second knocker.  I must say, the first one came out great. How heavily do you want it stuffed?  I wouldn't want too heavy of one, myself.  But I read some people like to have weight in them.

So get ready for some knitted knocker care packages, coming up!  Takes a little more time to get them together.  What's on the coffee table?  XXX

Ariom, I haven't thought of the theme.  I am thinking of wearing a dress I already have, but have never really worn.  It will be Fall, and it is a beautiful rich bronze color, with lighter bronze lace.  It's shattered silk, boned corset, and strapless.  It's really pretty.  And it will be appropriate for time of year. What do you think of this idea, you guys?  I think I want to save money for the lunch, not spend so much on all new wedding clothes.  I have to pay two private school tuitions in full at end of summer.  As it is, I will have to get things to supplement -- like my sweater, underthings, probably a blouse for DLLP -- and the children's things.

I always wear the same shoes, I get married the the same ones every time, and so does DLLP.

Anyway I was thinking of getting a floaty natural (or cream) lacy sweater (a tiny cashmere one or a long linen one) for over the dress, to dress it down a little, lighten up color-wise and keep warm.  Sheer stockings -- real ones.  So it's kind of an old-fashioned color palate, if you ask me.  Like... sepia.  I am going to have flowers for my hair, I like that.  I think I will have big flowers in my hair last time.  Last time: stephanotis.

So we'll keep DLLP in similar colors.  But casual, on the whole.  We're just going to a nice lunch after.  Is this enough information for you?  My darling loves pink.  Her dress for the last wedding was white, it was a very similar dress to mine, the child version, in cotton lawn!  DS loves to look... dapper.  He is a dapper man.  Except he will not pick his urine-stained underwear off of the bathroom floor.  Nor will he clean himself thoroughly.

So you have lots of latitude.  Lots.  It does not have to be pink.  So excited that you are picking!!

So exciting. It's just what we all need. Something to look forward to. Dress sounds lovely.

Bread turned out good. Chocolate chips help everything out:). Can't do nuts. Boy is allergic so none allowed in house.

Did drive to town all by myself. Its 5 minutes down the road. The first in two months. Been too drugged or too sick to go alone or had too many heavy things to buy like milk.

Bobo please tell me that my son will be proficient with his bathroom habits by the time he's your DS's age. Or is just a man thing?

Granwe. Yes you need to take care of yourself. Don't work too hard this weekend.

Everyone else? Big weekend plans? It's supposed to be cooler here but scattered showers. Going to visit friends at the Ky Horse Park campgrounds. Kids can swim and we'll cookout. Something normal for a change. Sundays are always quiet at the campground since people have to get back home.

So glad to see you're back Gramwe, you were missed!

I am so sorry you are inundated by bills, and you're having pain too. F that! No wonder you were feeling down.

Your care package from Bobo really hit the spot. How lovely, and so thoughtful.

I just got up, it is 9.30am, almost unheard of for me. I am so used to being up for the girls coming to get Colin up, that a sleep in is very unusual for me. I do like it when we have the morning to ourselves though. Colin is dozing again, so I will get breakfast when he wakes up. Although I really appreciate the help, I still don't really love having people in the house every day, but it is just a consequence of our situation. Some of the girls have become like members of the family.

Dexter couldn't work out why I was still in bed so he came and gave me a dog scan eyelash sniff, just to check I was ok:) He's allowed on the bed  after it gets light, not before.

I do frozen bananas too, but mine go in my morning smoothie. I love banana bread, but I haven't ever made it.

Goodness Gramwe, the weasel is moving in. Let's hope your Daughter keeps her resolve and kicks him to the kerb when a new roomy comes along. I do like her catch cry! I wish her all the very best!

You take care Gramwe, I am not likeing the sound of the lawnmowing for you. Take it slow!
