JSJ. You da woman. It's almost over. We've got your suspenders! Rainbow ones. Then M will get you started on the green stuff. Vile but makes me feel better.

Glad you're getting some benefits from the green stuff Z, I really feel like it has helped me in lots of ways. The taste doesn't bother me, but you could try it in a protein smoothie where you can't taste it at all, I have it in my Vegansmart every morning with mango and banana. The 2 of those are like rocket fuel. I don't need anything to eat till the afternoon and I have lots of energy in the early part of the day. M x

M- so sorry about Colin. Hoping he is back sailing in no time. Sailman is doing ok. Think he and my dad may stroke out before this is all over though. MD was having routine shoulder surgery before Thanksgiving and had a heart attack and stroke on the table. It was a slight one thankfully but she is having heart cath Mon and MILD is having her knee fixed on Wed. So Sailman has been a bit stressed. DS is taking his first finals and moved home 2 weeks early. Poor baby does not have hot water in dorm. And won't before they close for the holidays. Oh the travesty roflmao!
Glennie I love Ava's Santa pix. She is adorable. Ohhhh Zills not that! When you and Bobo talk about it I get that awful face a child makes when you give them cough syrup.
Crap on a chapstick! I forgot to tell you.. One of my younger cousins just tested positive for the family mutation. Her sister was 28 when she passed with anal cancer. My Uncle is devastated. She will begin all the surgeries in a few months.
Much love to you all!

JSJ, so much going on there. I am so sorry to hear of all the medical stuff with the family. No wonder Sailman is stressed. It just never ends does it? Take care of you, poor boy, no hot water in the Dorm, whats that about?

OH my golly, JS, I'm so sorry to hear about your family. Hang in there, all of you. And why can't they get the water fixed??? That's crazy. ((hugs))0 -
He lives in the oldest dorm and the hot water system is so antiquated that they are having to manufacture the parts. He just cracks me up. How is Colin today? Much love to all,
JS

Hi! Colin is just the same really, not himself and still having the sweats and the shaking. I sure hope all this is sorted this week, it has been a long couple of months for him.
Oh dear, that must be annoying, not having the hot water though! I hope he has heat in that dorm?
How are you doing? M x

Poor Colin! I hate to hear him having the sweats! I am glad he is not in the boat much.
JSJ, poor your cousin! Terrible. I am so glad you are almost finished. But... for the love of all that is holy, angels, cherubim and seraphim -- again with the Green Vibrance! Crap on a chapstick! I have ingested some disgusting things, but that is some of the most disgusting swill I have ever tried to swallow. I mean, I have done Eastern medicine and Chinese herbs and snake essence and so many things, and for years, and nothing comes close to the Green V. It is disgusting. M, you simply cannot make me.
Z! You Green V-swilling traitor. Let the record show that I loved my sx camis. I stuck the drains in there (I had four, sometimes six) and then I felt secure. And then you hear all those stories of people putting them on shoelaces, which is fine, but once they are tucked in that cami you feel so much better, in my experience. But, then again, I am not the bad-ass that M is. I never slung my drains across the floor in a fit of pique, as a kind of gestural punctuation mark, whilst wearing a tangerine-colored dressing-gown-and-robe combination.0 -
Bobo, don't forget the high heals with the fuzzy floaty pom pom on the toe piece... Lol. I have your back on the GreenV Sista! How are the angels?
M... He has heat but no air conditioning. He is really loving college life.

I hide the Green V with much frozen fruit or fruit juice. Good disguise. And I agree about the post sx camisole with pockets. I lived in mine and only had one drain. Velcro up the front. Worked really well for me.
I hope Weds comes soon and Colin is feeling better!!
**waving to all**

Oh for goodness sake, it is just a quick shot or hidden in a smoothie, how can it possibly be that bad? You crack me up, Bobo, this stuff is fantastic for giving you energy, just like an injection or bad sex, it's over in a second!! LOL

Hi JS, how are things going now? Hope your ds gets some hot water, so glad to hear he likes college. Sorry to hear about your family and the testing, you have been through so much. Guess you are a real tough nut!!
Welcome Cholesmom, nice to meet you but wish it was under different circumstances. The gals here have good advice! I second it. I did not need any throat lozenges at all, but had them with just in case. I had a pain block in my back, they likened it to a spinal during childbirth and had virtually no pain at all. I admit I was scared silly beforehand as I never had any surgery prior, but all went well, spent one night in hospital (at my choice) showered the next morning and went off to another appt. and home. I had tubes long enough to wrap around my neck to shower but those post camis are the best, my friend had surgery in July and she is still wearing them!! I gave her mine and she got some with insurance, she also had a double mx but has not yet gotten any foobs, i told her she should do it before end of year because insurance will pay all. But she says she is comfortable with just the poofies you get with the camis... to each their own I guess!
Sorry Ariom, but the green stuff.... yuck, cannot do it either, nothing covers up that taste, mine had to go!!
Hello to everyone!!

I don't know, M, I have had some bad sex that lasted for way longer than it should have. Songs and songs on the radio. Crap on a chapstick!

NDgirl, I knew you would be with me on the Green V! Glennie you are a traitor, you and your smoothies made out of pre-made smoothies
0 -
I confess, my smoothies are made from pre-made smoothies,,, but whatever works. Choke the stuff down somehow. Still goes down easier than some of the bad sex I've had. Like you said, songs and songs on the radio,,,,,0 -
Well, well, so we've all had bad sex! Songs and songs on the radio? Now, that's funny! I must say, I have made up a few shopping lists in my head in the past...,no, no, not Colin!!!!
I'd still rather have my Green Vibrance in my Vegan Smart with frozen fruit, I can't taste it.........I would have pre made smoothies, if there was one that was dairy free!

I get Naked juice smoothie at the grocery store. No dairy,, just a mixture of different fruit juices,, some have veggies, or flax seed or other things. But I usually use these with my Vega Smart protein powder. It's easier than having many different juices around. And it hides the taste of the Green V0 -
The worst kind of bad sex is when we're undressing and the guy says, "whoa, keep those scars covered." It doesn't often get to that point with that kind of guy, but it has happened to me once in a while.
I met my current bf some years after my cancer surgeries. When we were ready to start being intimate, I invited him to shower with me first. Sharing my scars in the nice warm water, inviting him to touch me even with my body-altering operations, was a great way to start becoming close, leading to great sex.

Whoa, Amy,, that is the worst kind of bad sex. I admit, I haven't had sex since my MX,, so no idea what will happen if/when I ever get to that point again. Seems like a real mood killer. Shower seems like a good idea.0 -
I'll keep this in mind should I happen to get single. May as well be though, the way it is around here.

Same! My hubby blames old age....he's been using that excuse since his 30's! Needless to say conversation on that topic is not welcome. Men!!!!
Glennie: anything over the counter you can suggest to help with that??0 -
Not really. He could have low testosterone? I think they use it all up with they are in their teens and 20's.0 -
A Glock? Men, can't live with them, can't kill them

A Hitachi magic wand is over-the-counter. For us, anyway. In a warm shower, by myself if need be. Good wine, too.

Yikes! F you, previous date of Amygil who told her to keep herself covered! I am going to get a large pillowcase and fill it with bars of soap and go to his house.
I seem to have opened a can of worms. Wait. That was actually M. **Surprise!**

I can't leave you all alone. You are worse than toddlers getting side tracked. Green V to bad sex or lack of it. Is it still a full moon?

So flat friends I will change the subject for a minute.
Just posted on Dec surgery sisters a question about camis. It seems my doctor doesn't order anything. The nurse navigator suggested I call one of the local suppliers and order something that they can deliver to the hospital. This seems crazy as I don't know what will be comfortable. I don't need a leisure bra if there is nothing left to hold up. I made a pocket pouch in an old cami to carry drains. I'm a size 10 dress but medium in the camis looks to be a 12 so it makes no sense to order over the phone. Also I go crazy if anything is scratchy so currently wear genie or ahh bras as I hate to be in armor. She said most women also bring a lanyard to hook the drains to
My coworker that had a BMX said she felt best with compression and wrapped herself up in a big stretchy bandage as it felt good. I don't want to slop around if something form fitting will promote flatter healing.
Any suggestions? My insurance is supposed to cover part of this so I want to get the best I can. The coding should be the same for any garment and often some suppliers get a flat amout for the code so give you the cheapest one they can. Don't want to get stuck.

what is green V

Green Vibrance is a probiotic supplement. Foul tasting but gives you energy.
I couldn't stand the bandage. Was unwrapped before I left hospital. I still prefer loose and soft shirts. Call the American cancer society. They should set you up.

Green V is Green Vibrance. It is a vegetable powder supplement. Contains all kinds of goodness,, but it is very "greeny" tasting. Best disguised in a fruit shake of some kind.Insurance is weird. I did order one camisole for the drains from local supplier. It could not be billed until the day I actually had surgury, so one of my friends had to go pick it up for me. And I didn't like it, cuz it was a "step-in" type,, and was much more of a pain to deal with than the velcro ones that I ordered and paid for myself from TLC catalog. Front opening is WAY better!! If you are going to use a local supplier, go there first and see what they have and if you want it or not.
And I still think the nail pouch from Home Depot is way better than a lanyard to hold the drains. Just my opinion,,,,
As far as compression,, I had a Uni,, was not told about or offered any kind of compression. However, once the drain was out,, I developed a seroma which was helped with compression. Not sure if compression helps with drains still in. Maybe ask nurse navigator about the big stretchy bandages?
