What pain and showering? That I can't shower? No. Same basic locations. Can't really see incisions as I am wrapped up for first time, properly, like a mummy. They put compression garment on me. I did not have to wrestle it on while on drugs.

Pain is def because of location. He went back into abdomen, among other places. He told DLLP that trunk area is esp painful, and even more so when you go back. I know it sounds like it could be cool -- 'oh look at me, I am skinny.-- but I don't recognize myself now and it is a shock, and I am scared if I eat something fattening it will cause a big fat lump somewhere that didn't have lipo, like my neck. Not kidding. They call it fat redistribution.

All total he has taken out about 1800 ccs in the three sx. I was not fat to begin with, really. So how much is 1800 ccs? I have no idea.

About to start work.  Off tomorrow.   Bobo, will be in your area,, must go to Ward's and to the Main St post office.  Let me know if I can bring soup, juice, etc.

PT got me the name of a D.O. who could be a possible for me to see about neck/shoulder issues. A new doctor for the new year.  Not what I really want, but perhaps what I need.  Definitely need to see my chiro.  (don't read that, M), but he is booked. Will call tomorrow and beg.

I am here, just been caught up doing stuff for a gf who needed me to send emails for her and call the US to get some things done for her. It has taken lots of time.

Bobo, glad you're OK. I have heard of that fat redistribution, but believe me I have never seen it happen like that and I've seen plenty of people who have had lipo, eat themselves stupid, after having it done.

Z has a good idea about doing the machine, part time on those 2 days. Glennie is going to be in the area and can bring soup or supplies, take it easy and let her help. You know I'd be there, with the Vitamix ingredients!

Haha Glennie, I get a pain in my neck just thinking about Chiros!

Have to get into the shower, will be back to catch up...M x

Glennie, I didn't know about prunes for bones.. thank you for that information.

Oops.. posted in other thread that i was glad you were having a better time of it Bobogirl. UGH! I'm so sorry to hear that isn't the case :( Love the french flavored silences, but love more the fact that you are sticking up for yourself. Zils of course has given the best advice around, so I'll defer to her on the device. omg.. hearing it compared to half gallons.. no wonder you're in pain. Last one last one last one!

I have also read ruthbru's posts about prunes will actually build bones so I have been trying, never tasted a prune before this, not too bad, she said you need to eat a serving a day which is 5 I think. Hope it works, I am feeling not as much strength in my hands and arms, getting to be a real weakling. Also afraid of slipping on the ice which I never gave a thought to before taking arimidex.

Hugs to Bobo again, I posted to her on the other thread too.

Hi again, just on my way out, but I bought the prunes too, for the bone strengthening aspect. I have eaten them before, but I want to know how many calories there are in the serving, which I thought was 6 a day and I know this sounds really gross, but 6 prunes would have me, shitting through the eye of a needle! Just sayin'. I have never been constipated in my life, have no idea what it is like. I am too scared to eat that many prunes.LOL

M read the package label in the store before you buy. Should be on there somewhere. If not, I'll go read. I'm with you, I'd never get out of the bathroom

OMG, M, prunes are simply not that strong! I do not believe they would have anyone shitting through the eye of a needle! Perhaps in a rare case... but prunes are just plums. Maybe if you ate an entire sack of prunes.

And you want to check the calories? You are making me pee. Calories for six prunes? Think of all the cakes you've eaten, and coconut desserts, and chili choccys! Prunes cannot compare. You make me smile!

Well, I am not a hero, I am taking the maximum requested amt of pain meds every 4 hours (it says 3 to 6 is possible). I swear, the three blocks have scrambled my brain even more than the meds have. Tomorrow I have to have a look and change the dressings. It's pretty gory, usually.

Forgot to tell you: PS went out to DLLP directly after surgery, and he said, I hope you know we are not going to get them the same size, especially the right one (which is the infection one). He said, She always knew that, right?

DLLP (agreeing, nodding like an idiot): Right.

Wrong. Why would I have done this 3rd fg? I wanted to fill in the hole on the right side. If it cannot be filled, I feel the PS should have told me that, thus sparing me the 3rd sx. I know it is a minor thing, compared with what others are going through. But I am sick of being lied to, and I'm about to face that ruined area that will not be filled in as the left one is, even after all of these surgeries. Trying to keep my mind out of the crazy gutter. What's it all for?

Poor bobo. Will your area change over time? He's an ass.

Prunes have 20 cal each. 1/2 cup is considered a serving. Can use prune purée like applesauce to replace fat in baking. I made prune cookies once by mistake, instead of dates:)

I like them chewy. Prefer the individually wrapped ones. My gma liked them stewed. Not powerful enough to combat the anti nausea meds after chemo.

I eat 6 or 7 of them every day. No problems.

Bobo:  you are a hero for taking your pain meds as prescribed. Keep pain under control.

and WTF???  he did not get the hole filled in?? Demand clarification.  I thought that was the whole point. What was the half gallon for?   JERK!!

My mom would stew them too, then make me eat them. She had a life long "thing" about being regular. That included spring time enemas to clean out winter. It's a wonder I survived.

I still don't like prunes. Bones be hanged, I'm not gonna eat them

I barely like raisins.prunes are like raisins on steroids!! But if they could get put in a smoothy that might work.

I'm curious to know too.... what happened to the half gallon?

Peeing myself over Bobo's comments to M :) I think we need to take a poll to see if they are strong enough to shit through a needle... absolutely peeing myself.

Well I just had to scold M for that. 'Oh, I am M, I am so delicate. How many calories are in thither prune? I fear I will snap in twain like a twig if my excretions are too forceful. WAIT! Here come the workmen! I am going to pop to the shops and buy cakes for everyone! Byeee!'

Where the half-gallon went: I had a huge depression on right side. Could see my rib cage from the front. Could see my heart beating through skin. I wanted that filled up. I never thought much of having 'projection.' And now, there is still a divot in that right side. Either a) he cannot do it because of lack of skill, or b) he is angling for a fourth FG sx. He is not going to get one. Plus, it is serious. I am no size zero delicate flower -- I am nearly 5'11'' -- but I do not think I have any fat left for using.

Will look at it tomorrow. Trying to put anger aside and just forget about the lies. Trying not to memorize them, catalogue them for later use in a fight with PS. But you can better believe this: I will not go to him for nips. I am going to Vinnie! Road trip! To NOLA! Z is going to meet me there.

I'm surprised you even had the half gallon to be honest.. geez that sounds so gross.. I will never be able to look at a half gallon of anything again... hell if you had a half gallon, I'm sure they can get 2 gallons out of me!!!

Yes, don't forget her Tim Tam and whatever it was ice cream addictions either... or was it coconut something or other she bought out the store of? :)

M, Don't start with that many, silly. Start with one and work up. I bought them and tried them and forget to eat them. I think I still have a bag in the cabinet that hasn't been opened. I should be eating them too. Plums are much tastier. Have Colin video you pooping through the eye of a needle. That would be a U tube sensation.

DH told me he was going to the store to buy the crocs he wants (and that I bought last Fri for his present). So I told him not to and now his Christmas surprise is ruined. Why do men do that? You can tell what they want because they just bought it, leaving everyone to find useless things they don't want. I'm tempted to take them back and he'll end up with no crocs, just a box of coal.

Bobo, Perhaps we should write a book about all the possible bad outcomes for reconstruction. That info is NOT handed out before surgery. If people knew the infection rate and the subsequent surgery rate, it would at least give them a clear picture of what might happen. They make it seem like a bed of roses. A member from another thread is on her 6th operation for a failed reconstruction.

And where are the statistics for failed Sentinel Node dye procedures? My surgeon told me after mine didn't 'go'.. that it happens 10% of the time. Great! Had I known that, I would of insisted on having that procedure done the day before to make sure it had every chance in hell to make it to the nodes. Instead, I was injected 2 hours before my surgery, and when it didn't work, my surgeon just made the decision without my consent to do an axillary dissection. She took 6 nodes for testing, I now have mild LE....and the kicker is we'll never know if she got the sentinel node. Russian roulette anyone?

They put the dye in my nipple and took the node from my underarm. The tumor was at the bottom of my breast close to the breastbone and just in front of the chest wall. I still think it's unlikely that spot drained to my underarm. I hope they're right, but it doesn't make logical sense.

Bahahaha, Bobo, you are so funny! I am simply asking about the calorie count of the prunes, so I can eat them, as well as the other stuff you mentioned. Seems to me, they are so sweet, so are pretty much, pure sugar and fiber, so don't want to add too much more sugar or fiber. Really laughing hard now, at your mention of me buying cakes for everyone, you should see my kitchen island! I have bought so much stuff, for carers and workmen, Barry and the Postman, the couple who help with the garden and the boys that help with Colin's boats, Alcohol and chocolates, Cakes and cute little Scottie Dog, shaped Shortbread. There is Gourmet Christmas Pudding, with a whole Blood Orange inside. It looks like the Food Hall of a department store here.

Spookiesmom,my Mother was a fanatic for being regular too, but I never had to have enemas because I never had issues in that department, but she would chase me around the house to give me weird stuff like Hypol and Waterburys Compound, all kinds of tonics because I was as skinny as a bean pole. I could eat anything and never put on an ounce, that was until I was Dx with Rheumatoid and had to take awful drugs, including steroids every day.

I hate your surgeon, Bobo, it seems he just makes it up, as he goes along. I want to bitch slap him, really hard.

What was he doing with all the other fat he injected into you, couldn't he adjust accordingly, to make the deeper side fill up? FFS, I just don't get it. Thank goodness we don't talk in gallons here, I wouldn't be able to look at one the same way either.

Wren I am taking your advice and starting with 1 prune and will increase. Glennie, did you just start with 6 or did you work your way up?

Men always do that, ruin the surprise.

Geeesh ldesim, thanks for reminding her about the TimTams! LOL

PRB, I don't really understand the SNB stuff, mine was a tracer, which was injected hours before my surgery and I had to do lots of massaging then scanning, over and over. I had to do that for a couple of hours and it was there, that the Node appeared on the scan. I went to surgery where the blue dye was injected and the node was found with a geiger counter type thing. Mine was taken from under my arm too, aren't they all like a string of pearls down under the arm? I asked my surgeon, if other nodes were taken, as part of the surgery, when they removed the breast and he said, no. I kind of thought there must be lots of nodes that were in the breast, but apparently not.

    Have to make dinner...be back..M x

Birdie, that is a bad DH. Yes we should write a book.

Turn for the worse. Cat went to high dresser, then vaulted off it onto me -- right onto my sore and bleeding areas -- to get my attention at 1:20 this morning. I had to stifle screaming. I told DLLP to keep animals out in front, but she wanted to sleep in the bed, so she didn't. Luckily it was time for pain meds. I couldn't get back to sleep until almost four.

Then at 5:30, we attempted to change bandages. I pulled one off and then got instantly, incredibly lightheaded. Cold sweats. Felt like throwing up. I am still lying down from that. We only got a couple of the bandages changed.

Not sure what it was -- pain from the jumping, from taking off bandage, or just sitting up -- but I sat up and stood lots yesterday and didn't have this problem. My ears are ringing and I feel like a shaky wreck. I guess I should give myself a break. This is only the second day after surgery. Really do not feel good.
