I spent a wonderful day with an amazing group of ladies. I cannot thank you all enough for your encouragement, pearls of wisdoms about even the most sensitive and or mundane of topics. I will truly think back on this day as I move forward with my chemo treatment in a week and my following surgery, etc. But for now - I will take it one day at a time, be good to myself, allow myself to cry when I want to and know that I now have a few more shoulders to cry on and rely on in the coming months. You have given me strength! I feel so fortunate to have found this site and to have found you all. I look forward to our next get together and hope to meet more ladies from the central TX area. Sending out hugs and love to all....Candy

Had a great time in Saledo with Cindy, Teri, Jen, and Candy. Thanks for being the tour guide, Candy!! I have talked to my family about heading back for the Stroll in December.
Jen, Teri, Cindy - I learn so much from y'all every time we meet. We are all so different, yet so very much alike! I always come away from our get togethers recharged, refocused, and with a more resilient attitude. Thanks for putting up with me during my "mad" phase. I rule cancer...cancer does not rule me!
Candy, so sorry you had to join our little group, but so happy to get to know you! We are with you every step of the way. Please do not hesitate to reach out, at any time, to any of us, if you need a virtual hug, a shoulder to cry on, a note of encouragement, or just someone to talk to that "gets it".
Sending prayers and healing thoughts to our friends that couldn't make it this time:
Kelsy - Hope you are healing okay and getting your rest.
Holli - Happy you are at home with your family! Hope you start feeling better soon!!
Betty - Cyber hugs and wishes for a speedy recovery from surgery. Reach out if you need us....or even if you don't!
Chaos - All the positive energy I can muster heading your way so you can kick cancer to the curb. Let us know if we can help!
Zelda - I will see you next week at work. You know I am here for you! Calming thoughts as you start round 2!
Here is a pic of us in Saledo:
Jen, Vicki, Teri, Cindy, and Candy - I know we have others that are probably better than this one but I wanted to get it out there!
Love you ladies!!0 -
Another note to Candy and all the TX Hill Country Warriors: Those of us that have completed the initial treatment and are on the other side to tell about it continue to come here and support our sisters just starting on this journey. Thank you for allowing us into your lives. You help us as much as we help you!
Hope, health, and happiness to all!!

It looks like you girls had a lot of fun. I am actually holding up pretty well so far. I start a new drug Wednesday as well as find out the results of my genetic testing. She will actually come up to where I will have chemo to give me the results. Which is only 2 floors. I hope Taxol will be as nice to me as the AC treatment was. Tiredness and some pain with insomnia. I will take that over nausea any day.
And even though I don't respond on here all the time I do read daily and think of you all often. I keep you all in my thoughts all the time.

Thanks for posting the picture, Vicki!
Was great seeing you all again and meeting you, Candy. San Marcos sounds great. I hope we can meet some of you other newbies soon!
Candy, thinking of you and hoping all goes well with your up-coming treatments. PM me anytime if I can help.
Nice to hear from you Kelsey and chaos.
I hope you are feeling much better Holli.

Loved seeing the photo of y'all in Saledo! You are so welcoming and it was nice to be invited - next time, for sure! I enjoyed the beautiful weekend with my beautiful family. So, tonight I'm checking my chemo bag for chemo session #2 tomorrow, trying to breathe away the anxiety over possible SE's, and my hair is coming out! I think I didn't really believe it would happen - denial, I guess. Thought I'd settle in for a nice pity party, but caught up here, instead. Thank you all for sharing your lives. Bring it on! Linda

Hmmm, born a Texan, always a Texan. I now reside in Colorado, but my BRCA gene comes from the Hill Country Germans. I miss Texas in Many, Many ways. Octoberfest, big gardens, lakes, ocean, real BBQ, kind people, and family. I don't miss snakes! We come from Shiner, Austin, San Antonio, Hamilton area. It's just nice to hear from back home. I finished chemo in June and now have a bit of hair back, kind of a modified mohawk. It's been a long journey, but I'm happy to get up every morning and do a little dance now. Blessings.

Great Saleado picture ladies!! If the next one is more down south hopefully I can make it.
I'm exhausted from the all of the follow up appointments today. This is just a quick update. I've had a lot of people asking how today has gone. So I didn't want to have anyone wait too long. I have a more in-depth update later. While the results are inconclusive, they are very confident that there is NOT any indication of cancer in the lungs. I will have a follow up chest cat scan later this week. I'm still short of breath and have some pain when breathing in.
Thank you for all the prayers. I will post a better update later today.0 -
Holli, good to hear from you and praying for positive results from your tests.
lydiahouse, welcome! Join in anytime.
booklady, in your pockets for your chemo #2.
