Hi Ladies!!
I am in the Round Rock/ Cedar Park area. I am 35 and was diagnosed October 2016. I had my bilateral mastectomy March 30, 2017. I went yesterday for my exchange pre-op and got bummer news. I am not looking for a second opinion on my exchange options. I am just not happy with what I am being told my final end result appearance will be. My TE are filled with 365cc right now and I don't really want to go any bigger.
I'm so glad I found this thread topic.

Sjsparks - below is the link to a BCO thread called Breast Implant Sizing 101. if you read the complete header and post your particulars as requested, Whippetmom will be able to advise on sizing.
https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/44/topics...
I couldn't tell if you meant "not looking" or "now looking", but I do think a second opinion is in order. Whippetmom also keeps a list of docs around the country if no one from the Hill Country chimes in.

Awesome, MinusTwo! I am looking at other opinions for sure. I will check out that thread! Thanks so much

I live in round rock and had TE reconstruction. I an happy with my results. Dr. Holzman is awesome if you are looking for a second opinion. Questions? Ask away. I am an open book.
Hi Terri, Jen, Cindi, Holly, Canot and anyone else I may have missed. Let's do a June hookup.

Vicki, so good to hear from you! Haven't seen you in a while. Yes, let's plan something real soon! June sounds perfect.

June is getting away from us, and TBH, is packed for me as our nephew is visiting from Illinois.
How does July 9th sound?
Someplace south so our SA area ladies can join us?
I'm thinking.....
brunch here at noon
http://thegruenedoor.com/our-menu/
and then an afternoon looking at some antiques?
maybe a glass of wine at the winery place?
I know it will be hot as the dickens, but, I'll bring an ice chest of frozen waters and extra parasols
Or, if that is not workable for you, please let us know what would work!

Jen',
That sounds fine to me. Thanks for posting. I was just thinking about this the other day!

Hi all. It has been a while. Going back to work kept me busy. Hubby was gone for about a year and I was going to join him but recon didn't take so well. After 7 surgeries it has finally taken in the cancer side. Hubby ended up moving back home and life settled. I was chosen for the Casting For Recovery this last month and I didn't realize how much I truly needed it. I cried, I laughed, I made some friends. Going back for the reunion in September. Anywho I have still lurked as I get the messages in my email but since this site is blocked on my work computer just harder to keep up.

Please try to join us next month!

shewolf I will be at the CFR reunion in Sept. as well. It is a blast. We had about 30 women there last year. I am looking forward to meeting you. The reunion is very relaxing yet motivating at the same time.
Cindy, are you going to try to make it to the reunion this year? I think someone else from this thread went a couple of years ago. This will be year three for me.
Someday I will make it to Austin for one of your get togethers. I read this thread regularly. I learned of CFR from Cindy right here when I was still in treatments.
Have a great weekend.

Ladies,
The meeting place is wonderful. Let me see if I can get a sitter. What time are you thinking on the 9th?

JB - I didn't realize you'd done CFR. What a neat thing.
I too follow this thread & will some day make it up there for a lunch. Sad that we just don't have any kind of even semi-active group in Houston.
Did anyone every find out what happened to Braids? She was kind enough to invite me to an MBC luncheon & presentation in Houston when I was deep in trying to figure out what was happening with my recurrence. Such a gracious lady.

oh- forgot to put that on there- I was thinking NOON if that works for everyone.

MT, Braids met us for lunch several yrs ago. I don't think anyone here has been in touch with her since. I know she was going through the Breast Cancer Resource Center here, bc Marjorie came to lunch with her. I think about her too. Come for lunch if you can. About 2 hrs from Houston to Gruene, I think! Would love to meet you. The more the merrier!

Thanks Faith. I'm familiar with the area. We went to Canyon Lake a lot in the '70s. I used to have property by Bertram and have a niece by San Antonio. I can't make lunch this time, but like JB Dayton, I have this site on my favorites and hope to get there one of these days. It's always so good to meet fellow BCO members.

MinusTwo, I would be glad to carpool to a meet-up some day. We can maybe even pick up Sandra on the way.
Life is good. I just got back from 2 weeks visiting my brother in law and wife in south Florida. I also connected with a cousin I had not seen since I was in high school. She found me on facebook and reached out. She lives only 30 minutes from my brother-in-law. Had a very good visit, actually met her 3 times that week.
Keep applying for Casting for Recovery. You would really enjoy it. Then we can go to reunions together.
Have a great week everyone.

I am in the Houston area, too, and would like to meet-up sometime. Will be out of state in July but will put this in my "favorites" for next time

Maybe we can all meet up somewhere in between Austin and Houston sometime this Fall...La Grange, Schulenberg, Columbus...? Let's stay in touch!

Hello from West Texas! I could use a little direction. I have a reddish blotch on my breast that the dermatologist has ruled out skin cancer and set me up for a mammogram tomorrow. I did not have a regular doctor so I got into a Nurse practitioner last Friday and she agreed on the mammogram and said she could forward the results to Lubbock breast cancer center. They are not NCI. She also feels I need other tests like a biopsy or some sort scan-I can't remeber at the moment. Does anyone know anything about Lubbock's breast cancer center? Would I be better off going to Dallas. I guess I just don't know what my next step should be . Beside the sPlotch I have pain and itching.

LP, Sorry I can't help with Lubbock or DFW medical facilitiies. I go to Austin Cancer Center. I hope you get some answers quickly. Good that you are doing some research. Pls let us know how it goes~ Best wishes

Pizza - I was the one who directed you to an NCI center. Sorry no one else answered that thread.
I don't know anything about either Lubbock or Dallas, but I'd go ahead and follow through with what you've got scheduled so far. It might be an ultrasound after the mammogram. Or they may refer you to a breast surgeon to discuss biopsy. Once you get a tentative diagnosis, you can certainly go to Dallas for a second opinion.
In the meantime, my niece went to college in Lubbock and I'll ask if she knows anything about the hospitals.

Sorry, my niece said she just always went to the clinic at Tech.

Thank you so much for checking. I think it would be unrealistic to seek treatment in Dallas as it is 5 hours away. That is if I even need it! I think I'll send the results today to Lubbock and schedule an appt with them

I'd be happy to provide any Dallas info if needed. Hopefully will not be needed :

Largepizza (i love your name) I hope you were able to get the help you needed in Lubbock, and that everything is benign.
Bootscootin' - welcome and I think a meet up in between would be great!
Terri, I think it might just be us. Want to just keep it local? brunch in Round Rock? Maybe Kerby or Star Cafe?
