    Jen',

Thanks for always being the coordinator! Oct 29th is good here. It would be great to meet with some of the SE/SA ladies also.

Candy, sorry we missed you. I hope your Dr appts go well while you're here. I'm glad Pete and kitties are all okay! Safe travels home.

I am off to AZ on Saturday and will be back on the 27th, I believe. I can't believe she is going thru BC again!

    Thanks Jen'.

Back home:). She is doing amazingly well. Only one drain. She sees her surgeon today for follow up. I think she has made up her mind that she will be driving as of today. Very strong -willed woman...almost to a fault! I told my DD she is a force to be reckoned with:). Grateful that she is doing so well.

Merry Christmas - wishing everyone all the joys of the holiday season and good health & fun times in the New Year!

I agree Jen - I don’t know where the last 2 months went. All is well here. Pete and I went on a Caribbean cruise in November and we just got back from another one on Sunday. We are really enjoying Florida but it is hard to get in the Christmas spirit When it is so warm but it’s kind of like Texas. We hope to spend New Year’s eve on the beach with a group of new friends. I hope everyone is doing well. I think if you guys were all often. Don’t forget you always have an open invitation to come to Naples Florida. I already have my follow-up appointments scheduled for 6-13 March, So I hope to see everyone this time.Till then,

, sending love and hugs, Candy

    Hello Texas Hill Country Survivors

I would love to attend your next meet-up! I live in Lago Vista and teach school out here as well. I was diagnosed on January 3, 2017 with IDC stage 1 grade 1 no node involvement. 1.8cm.

    Thank you

Sandra, Welcome! I'm glad you found us. We would love to meet you. Follow our thread and we will up-date periodically. It looks like it may be March...? if not then and/or sooner.

    Take care,

    Terri

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Let's start planning that next meet up!

How does breakfast around 10 on 3/10 sound (since Candy will be here)? I have to work at 130, so can't travel super far from Round Rock if this date works for most of you, and you don't mind staying around north Austin/RR. Otherwise, y'all let me know and I will still help plan something that is easier for you. We can also plan a meetup that is farther afield for April or May for the ladies that are east of us, or something. What do you think??

Hapoy 💗 Day to everyone. Was just getting ready to post. Sat. The 10th at 10am works for me - as does Sunday anytime. I get in on the 6th and all my appts are scheduled for the 7,8,9th. Free until I leave on the 12th.

The 10th at 10 is good for me. There is a place in La Frontera called "First Watch" that has a varied menu and good food. Natural and gluten free choices, if anyone cares about that. Or another place...?

    looking forward to it!

    Who else is coming?:)

So I know its been a while BUT can anyone help me navigate and find a Salem, MO or something near there support group thread? I ask because my Aunt was very recently diagnosed and needs some support. I live in Texas though and cant make it there. Who would have thought I would have had the cancer first. All my genetic testing though was negative.

I would point her to her oncologist's nurse or patient navigator, or the american caner society. they are what i used to find local support

Hi all, keepthefaith kindly directed me over here as I live in the area and was just diagnosed a couple of months ago. I had surgery a few weeks ago and am trying to figure out if I should do chemo or not (and I thought the decision about lumpectomy or mastectomy was bad).

    Anyway, hello!

  • jwoo
    jwoo Member Posts: 931

Hi there! Welcome to the thread, maiyen!

Terribly sorry you are here, but, we all hope that your experience is as pain-free as possible.

I had chemo, no rads, and a double mastectomy(dmx). So much new information comes out in different studies every day. I hope your oncologist is willing to thoroughly discuss all of your options, and that you are able to get a few more opinions on your care from other oncos.

We aren't as active as we used to be, but I check in every day to see if anyone needs anything. Please don't hesitate to ask questions here, and you can also send private messages to members as well.

Thank you, JWoo! Would love to hear more thoughts on how people here made the decision to do chemo or not? So far I've had a partial mx and will have rads, but need to decide on chemo first (and soon). I'm ER+HER2- and most of my test results are in the intermediate range so I'm not clearly low or high risk.

HI maiyen, so glad you found us!

I had an intermediate onco-type score of 21. At that time, the Tailorx trial results for intermediate scores were not in. They just came out a couple of months ago. Look into that, if you haven't already. My MO told me it was my decision, but she would recommend chemo. I decided on chemo. Part of my decision was based on my family history, my health at the time, my thought that if it came back, I would have regrets. My Mom has had BC two times, my half-sister once. Both are doing well. Like JWoo said, get all of the information you need, second opinions, etc. Chemo was not too bad for me. No regrets here. I took Tamoxifen for 2.7 yrs. Pls feel free to reach out anytime. PM or otherwise. If you would like to meet up sometime, that would be fine, too! Best wishes.

    Terri
