Doing it robotic. When i did the hyst it was vaginal with a bladder repair so i know what to expect this time.

Its hard to say what menopause does to me emotionally, sexually etc. I feel less tolerant of idiots.lol but is it due to menopause or fatigue or emotional stress of breast cancer? Sex life is gone but again i think due to chemo, rad burns, dmx, infection etc.

Linda - I'll be thinking of you tomorrow and sending strength, love, and all my positive energy your way!
Michelle - Kudos on getting the surgery scheduled around you. It's nice when your doctors cooperate.
Beverly - I know it's scary, but you know that worry will not change anything. There isn't anything you can do but take care of yourself and be as strong physically as possible, which means minimally...getting enough sleep. I would call and get some anti-anxiety meds and a sleep aid if that is what it takes. Hang in there, in just a few more days you will know exactly what, if anything, you are dealing with.
Eve and Laurie - I love acupuncture, and if I could afford to, I would go every week because it works! Massage sounds divine. I'm thinking I'll get one over 4th of July weekend when David is with his dad again.
Hugs again Linda!
Sweet dreams everyone!
Diane.

The hysterectomy is not bad at all. Don't be afraid of that procedure. If I understand, all of you are worried of finding cancer. There is not one thing I could say that would ease your mind but you have dealt with BC and you will deal with whatever this nasty disease throws at you. I believe in you guys. All the collective strength here is felt deeply.
Have your hysterectomy as soon as you can so you have a week to feel better. I was up and around in a few days. Felt like having a period with no period! I had a lot of bleeding before so it was wonderful to not have to deal with it. My bad decision was to go on HRT. I had a lot of influence regarding that decision and I should have spoken up but I let myself be persuaded. I will always wonder if the added estrogen played a critical role in my BC. So, you are making good decisions. Go with your gut and stay busy during the waiting periods. No pun intended.
I'm sending you guys a little joke I just posted on another thread. Oh yeah, I didn't edit this! It's too late...

lol, Polly, loved it.
Hey Beverly, you had C-sections yes? The surgery is much like that as far as recovery. You'll get through the menopause stuff, I am with Diane ask for something to help you sleep. I take 0.5 mgs of Ativan and sleep like a baby.
Linda, Michelle, wow! you have been through so much already, hopefully this will be it for the major stuff. hang in there ladies, I truly admire your strength.

Bladder repair? Did they knick your bladder during surgery?
Lindacam how are you doing???
0 -
Thanks everyone. I was told no mess before surgery, could I even take something to sleep? I have Valium and ambien still from bc....

Beverly,
I don't know about Linda but I had a bladder sling after my son was born, as have MANY of my friends. It's done to correct bladder issues, to put it delicately. The urologist wanted to take my uterus out too but my gyn literally yanked on my cervix (just as unpleasant as it sounds) and confirmed I had no prolapse, so I kept it. Please call your doctor, but I would be shocked if he says no to sleep, and anti-anxiety meds.

Yup had 4 c sections! Hoping scar tissue from those doesn't complicate things!!! She said its a 4-6 hour surgery, mine will be on longer side probably.

Linda...you did it, welcome back!! Wow this started our as the January Surgery a Group and now we're expanding into the summer surgery group. I guess I'm in great company. I'm having surgery on Friday to repair a twisted tube that runs from my port to tissue expander; I can't get fills..I haven't had a fill sine my BMX on January 29!!! I'm a little excited for the surgery because my PS says he will fill at time of surgery. Finally we can get this show on the road.
Mommyathome, keep us posted. Sounds very curious ????

Thanks marissa. I just don't have the time or emotional ability to deal with a set back right now. I'm having surgery July 1-hysterectomy and I need to have my class set up as much as possible for the fall by Friday because after that I'll be down again to recover.... Ugh this sucks!!!

Mommyathome, yes i am home resting comfirtably. Your breast incision opened?
0 -
Yes, the bottom of it. I have a hole with a stitch hanging out!!!! This has happened after the BMx, the same spot!!!! I'm worried!
0 -
Everything went well with your surgery? I'm going to be in the hospital for 3-5 days for abdominal hysterectomy
0 -
Linda, glad you are home resting. Not too bad was it? Mommyathome, let us know as soon as he tells you something. I really don't know what they do in that case.
