Linda - So glad it went well.  You are a warrior for sure! Rest well and big, big ((((Hugs)))) to you!

Beverly - If this happened before, then your PS will know what to do.  Hang in there and just take it easy until you get it stitched back up and get someone to go with you to help set up your classroom if that's what it takes.  You also have 2 months until school starts.  I'll bet you will be back on your feet again in time to do some more before then.  If it's one lesson I've learned with all of this, it's that we don't have control over what happens to us, only how we handle it.  Dig deep, take a breath and get to the PS tomorrow.  You can do this.

On a brighter note - I'm starting to see real improvement in my kicks with the loss of now 18 of my targeted 25 lbs.  Ann - we were doing combination kicking with target pads...round kick head high, recoil in air, and hook kick without putting the foot down, moving forward.  My legs felt strong and not made of lead for a change!  It is such a great feeling.  I got permission for my friend, who is testing for her 2nd Dan, and I to use the studio when it is closed for the 4th of July weekend so we can go over forms and one steps.  When I first started back, there were more things I couldn't do, than things I could.  It was discouraging and I would often come home and cry when I was alone.  Now because I didn't give up, I feel like with more hard work, I'll make it through the testing.  Getting my cortisone shot Friday, which should get rid of the nasty shooting pain in my hip.  This is an important step on my taekwondo journey, but also my way of showing BC that it may have taken my breasts, but not my spirit.

    Love all you lovely ladies.

    Diane

    Ladies,

Thanks!! Really I was a mess last night, thank you for being there!!! I'm getting ready now to see ps. It seems to have "closed" a but over night but the stitch is still hanging out.... Oh God please let this be nothing!!!  I'll keep you posted!

Way to be kicking some serious butt, Diane! I am so proud of you and have no doubt you will

Be ready for testing.   I hit the pads for the first time Tuesday with roundhouse kicks and knee jabs.  I left pretty pumped when my master instructor, who held for me, told me my technique was still there and my kicks were stronger than he expected.  Stamina? Not so much.  I stayed away from any upper body on the pads because I think I have some phlebitis in my IV arm that I don't want to compromise.  It felt awesome ....

Linda, so glad surgery went well.  Marissa, we will be thinking of you on Friday.  Beverly, hang in there! I am sure the stitch coming out is normal.  I haven't had my exchange yet but had a few stitches pop out from BMX and was told it is normal.

Diane, the image you posted says it all.  Perfect!

Ok ladies. I'm all set! Dr looked at it and she snipped the stitch and said I was good to go. How freaking scary!! All of this! You just don't know when something else is going to happen. But for now, I'm good to go. :)

Way to go Ann! It is a great feeling isn't it? The stamina will come back, but kudos for getting out there!

Marissa, We'll all be with you tomorrow. (((hugs))) to you.

Mommyathome- So glad all is good and just a stitch to be snipped.  That must have been scary.  I don't know why but I always wonder if my incision will suddenly open so I think I would have reacted the same way you did.  Try and rest before your surgery on the 1st and know that we are just a "post" away!!

Once again Diane and Ann, you two are such an inspiration for me. I got off my butt this morning and walked 3 miles....man, it felt good.

Glad it was only a wayward stitch Beverly, that happened to my husband, I just clipped it off and he was good to go. hang in there.

well, off to cook Roast Adobo pork loin, it has a cinnamon, cumin, chili powder, Adobo and brown sugar rub. Nate's favorite....soooo yummy. Serving it with my black beans and sweet potatoes. making you hungry?Happy

Hey Laurie, have you recovered from your relay?

    Hope everyone else is well.

    love, Eve

wow, lots going on here!! I just got home - I've been offline so it's hard to keep up.

Congrats to all of you ladies who are gaining ground and / or kicking butt. I feel like I'm really slacking. Oh well, tomorrow I'll get out and start walking....

We moved mom into her memory care unit last night. It was just heart wrenching to try to explain to her why she has to leave her home and stay there. My brother stayed with her until she finally fell asleep, but then she kept waking up and was soooo disoriented. Sometime during the night she tried to leave her room, wouldn't go back to bed and became combative with an aide.

I just hate this!! My brothers and I are exhausted and ornery, although we're trying our best to be a united front during this. Wish there was an easier way.

Things are going well with my shoulder....gained another 10 degrees of  movement and am having no pain unless I bump it or move it wrong. Whoo hoo!

My sleeve seems to be working out well. One PT said I should wear it all day because of the hot and humid weather :( Oh well, as long as it's helping to keep the swelling down I guess I'll do it.

    Take good care,

    ~Mary

Linda - Glad you are healing well and nearly off the pain meds!  LOL, I'm sure any of us could use the men's room, but do you really want to...although with 6 boys and hubby, it sounds like you are used to it at home anyway. Loopy

Marissa - Cudo's on your newly filled foobies!  They may feel like rocks...but they look maavvelous!

Laurie - LOL...laughing at myself, because I almost asked you why you would get surgery on Independence Day, and then I remembered you are in Ontario...hilarious!

Mary - My heart aches for you.  Hang in there and know we are all here for you.  Really great news that your shoulder is getting better!

Eve - you made me so hungry with your pork adobo, that I made pork tenderloin tonight.  I did a rub (garlic, cumin, coriander, oregano, thyme, s&p) and browned it in fresh garlic and olive oil, then roasted it.  David liked it, and I had my 2 oz.  Delish!

So class this a.m.  kicked my ass.  We did the usual running/drills and then Master Lee (who is 58 but in better shape than most 20 yr olds) took out the mini hurdles and we did conditioning, followed by form work and one-steps.  I was beet red and drenched and am pretty sure there were tears rolling down my cheeks with the sweat.  Two more weeks on this blasted diet...so hard to keep up on low fuel.  On the other hand, the kicks are getting easier, I moved down a pant size and have just 7 more lbs and I'm back to pre-BC weight!  I can't wait to see the look on my PS face when I go for pre-op in August. :)

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

    Love and hugs,

    Diane.

lol , yuk to the men's room, Linda.

hang in there mary, you know your mom is safer, with everone there 24/7 to help her. She will settle in and may improve with therapy. You and your brothers will work things out and will be able to get some much deserved rest.

we all are approaching the 6 month mark for BMX surgery. I find that I am more emotional now that right after the BMX.  I just finished reading a novel and during the last 10 pages I couldn't stop crying.  later that night when I was going to sleep, the floodgates opened again and I just cried on Nate's shoulder. Woke up yesterday looking like hell but felt refreshed and strong again, nothing like a good cryBawling.

Yay, Marissa, glad you are on your way.

I am trying your recipe next time Diane, yum.  Your classes sound brutal, keep up the good work, can't wait to see you in a black belt! Funny I thought the same thing about the 4th. Duh!

Usually on Sunday morning we take the dog to her park. Not today, I checked the weather at 10am and  it was already 94 degrees with 60% humidity. No way am I going outside in that. So later on we are going for a walk and fill her pool, I think I will sit in it for a while and cool off.

    have a fab Sunday all,

    Eve

Wow Eve, I think I would stay inside too with that kind of heat/humidity.  Maybe the pool?  I'm glad you feel better post-cry.  We all have to get it out somehow.  I tend to break down during sad movies. :)

Here's a little something that one of my friends posted on FB yesterday that I thought you all might enjoy:

Mommyathome! Goodness girl, what in the world do you have in there? :) I had no prep...I'd of freaked if they made me do that. Guess that's why I'm a year and a half late on a colonoscopy. I cry when I have to drink that stuff. But I bet you're a real trooper! I'll be thinking of you Monday evening as you will be in your bathroom a lot. Seriously, my thoughts will be with you Tuesday and we will look forward to good things happening out of this!!!

Mary, I am thinking about you and your mom.  I know it is a heart breaking decision.  We went through similar situation with my DH father many years ago.

My tiara needs another adjustment and I think I need a bigger broomstick....I am sure my husband would agree this week!
