Bipsy - OMGoodness that looks sore. I remember my RO mentioning an over the counter cream, something like silver dyne. Not sure if that was the name. I also used Vit E oil, but my burns never were that bad. Glad only a couple left to do. Are they giving you a day break or anything? Hope you get some relief soon.

Hey, Hey Bippy, glad you were able to get the goodies that will help you relax and sleep. I remember when I had to get my Norco refilled during Taxol, I was given the 3rd degree in questions before they were finally given to me. I really had to push that pains from Taxol were unbearable and I needed Norco as the OTC meds didn't get it on the bad days. Again glad you can get some relief.

Beatmon, hope you are still having a lot of fun and relaxing!

Catie and Gatomal, good going on how to push back! I find that I am a tiger now in getting what I need / want or ensuring that they know how I feel and that I am not just a number or "the next patient" although it may be routine to them it is not for me. I think we learn to not accept the "normal responses and actions" during this journey.

OOUCH Bippy= Hope that heals soon.

Gatomal=You are moving to Reno from SF. Best of luck. That is great your mom will be near by. Hope everything goes better for you. I liked that they stayed and gave you your infusion. Sorry you had to have a melt down to get it.

Cassie=Yuck O on your MO. What was that about?

I am getting my first neupogen shot tomorrow and wanted to hear of anybody's experience with them? I heard they sting and burn a ton going in, and I know that Claritin can help with bone pain, but when to take it? Any other advice? I'm hydrating a lot today, it will be day two after taxol for me, my worst day during the week. Haven't been able to nap at all today from the roids. But did cook dinner for the kiddos! I made then risotto. Isn't that crazy? Yum.

Neopogen never bothered me at all. It can sting going in if the nurse doesn't put it in slowly, but its not bad. I never had bone pain or anything. It just made me feel not as weak. If it gives you bone pain I hear taking aleve and ibuprofen or Tylenol helps. Hope it's as good to you as it was to me. Hugs Amy

Gatomal= I get neupogen all the time now. I still take a Claritin that day. Sometimes at night I just don't feel right. Nothing bad. It is gone the next day. Does not hurt at all going in. I don't even feel it.

    Good luck.

gatomal, i had neulasta, not neupogen. If they put that in fast, So make sure you tell them to go slow before they stick you. The claritin helped alot, I took it day of and about 2 days after.

    Good luck honeybun,thinking of you!

I had Neulasta as well, and the slower injections felt better than the fast ones, but they were never that bad. I did have pretty bad bone pain the first few cycles, and claritin and tylenol didn't help much. Hopefully that won't be the case for you!

thanks for the quick advice ladies. Got my Claritin on board, and will ask for the slow treatment. They watch me for an hour after to make sure there aren't anybreactions. So I'll post then. Good day to everybody! Trying to work on taxes this weekend. Ugh

gatomal, my bone pain was not too bad, but was uncomfortable. Tylenol helped alot. You will make it!!!

Sisters, my 85 y/o FIL passed peacefully last night, so with that, my visiting friend and rads burns, I will be out awhile. I am thinking of you all and wishing you peace and comfort. Have to take care of hubster for a change. it was expected and a blessing at this point, as dad was suffering.

Will be back when I can......

Amy, my liver enzymes have been elevated throughout chemo and still are. They are monitoring and I've seen a liver specialist who is also keeping an eye on my bloodwork.

Bipsy - So sorry for your loss.

Gatamol - I had Neulasta. Took a Claritin just before and an Aleve right after. Continued that for two days. The first time I ached, but the Claritin/Aleve combo helped me a lot. Usually given to me in back of arm. Relax muscles, less pain. When u tighten up arm seems to hurt more. Not really bad either way, just a pinch.

Amy - Glad they are watching you closely. Hope everything comes back to normal soon.

LadyB - Hope things are going better these days for you. You are awesome and glad to hear you aren't taking any crap.

Wishing everyone a good wknd. Keep warm!

Amy don't you hate weird news. Hope they settle down. Thanks for the tips, just took a Claritin, had it in my stomach. Could've given it myself. In bed now with favorite pjs, French bulldog, and all children are asleep! My turn.

I hate surprises. Every time I have an echo done, it seems like a different cardiologist reads it and finds something to comment on. At this rate, every function of my heart will have something wrong with it.

Bippy, sorry for your loss. Big hugs and praying for you, DH and family during this time.

Justamy, praying that all is normal on the next check-up.

Beatmon, have you docked yet? I know you had a marvelous time! When and where is your next trip?

2nd week of Rads so far uneventful. Praying it stays like that.

My daughter and family are moving out this weekend. It is bittersweet. Will miss my 4 yr old twin grand kids. They have been living with us since birth.

    Hugs to All, TGIF

We're having a nice, quiet Sunday morning. DD is sleeping in, and DH and I are enjoying coffee and breakfast. DD is going to one final audition today, just to see if she likes the class/style and if she could get in or not, so she and I will be heading out for the 2-hour roundtrip drive later today. I can think of worse ways to spend an afternoon. :)

jean, yes I had blood clots and tissue in my drains. I was able to strip the liquid out. Sometimes the blood clots would go into the bulb too. My doctor said no big deal as long as it was still working fine.

I did a few time, Jean. Stripping the drains helped keep things moving along. I stripped them often throughout the day, actually, and any time I noticed those kinds of clots. I was worried about things backing up on the inside, so I tried to keep things moving through the drain as best I could.

Thanks for the advice ladies. I managed to get another stringy thing to pass. I think the less I fuss with it the better it works. I keep hearing the gentle voice in my head saying....Jean, trust me. Trust me Jean, just trust me. Gosh it's hard to let go of control and let Him be in charge. Love, Jean

Jean, like everyone else I had lots'o stringy stuff, blood clots and sometime blood. The Dr said as long as it kept moving we were in good shape. As time passes and you begin to heal it becomes clearer.
