Eileen, great photo! Glad you were able to meet him and share your beautiful story.

Amy - So happy you are finally DONE! This has been a long haul for you and you were a champ. Congrats!!!!
LadyB - Glad they were able to get your WBC up quickly so you can finish up with Rads. Just a few more left to go. Will you be done after rads? Too bad the sub wasn't that nice. I have to say the regular team of techs are usually great. I think they must hand pick them with a good temperment and bed side manner, knowing we have been thru enough at that point. Let us know how's it's going.
Good luck to those just starting next phase of treatments. Always on my mind.
We are kicking cancers butt

my peeps,
Guess what? Bippy got a gig!!! Part time, for a cancer survivor, and learning new things. I have known her for years, and she said that everyone wrote her off as dead after her tx. HA! Can we relate? So she and I are out to prove something.
I am just busting. Building my business!
Also, rads gals, see my post about wet cloths for cooling under winter rads. I feel renewed, alive, and well for the first time in 7 months. Like maybe, life is good again. I actually am ready to consider recon, which I was not ready to think about. Next year though.
I truly am blessed to have you all as friends. I would be in an asylum if not for you. Can you believe, we made it through all this chit? We are nearly done?

no Valentines plans here, and I don't even have a card yet for DH. Feeling like a bad wife. But I think he'll understand. We're not big valentines day people.
For being relatively easy, day 2 of rads plus round two of herceptin has me feeling pretty tired tonight. Probably the combo of those things plus work plus getting over this cold. Could be worse!
Bippy, congrats on the client!
Eileen, you're so close to being done!

Way to go Bippy!!! I hope you enjoy your new adventure.
My husband works on Saturdays, so I get to spend all day by myself. YAY!!!!!! We have been married so long, we really don't acknowledge V-Day anymore.

Bippy, YaY \0/. Congrat's they snagged a good one.
Nurseshark, how are you doing/
Gatomal -- so funny and yes ouch. After all these years I still tense up.
Cassie, I told my RO on Wednesday that I felt tired already and I though RADs fatigue wouldn't set in until week 3. She said that is the norm but I could be different and she has seen it set in earlier. I really like her as she just doesn't discount what you are saying and that it isn't RADS. She said increase the water intake and be as diligent as I was on chemo.
Eileen, almost there!
Am with you Nomatterwhat, will be by myself -- my hubby works too. I did get flowers and a nice ring tonight. We usually don't celebrate Valentines but I think he did it due to my journey soooooo sweet!
Finished my first week of RADS. My shoulders hurt due to positioning. RO recommended taking Advil or Motrin before the treatment. 4 more weeks and counting -- I see more than a glimmer of light coming through that tunnel.
Not sure if I shared this here, but during my RADs treatment I have met a mother and child. During chemo it was an adult only unit. The Onc Radiation clinc adults and children share the same clinic. The children come in the morning as they usually have some item anesthesia or sedative. . This week I meet two children with cancer and it just wrenched my heart. One is about 4/5 the other about 7/8.
I have a three day weekend Yippy! I am going to live it up and party by sleeping in, walking, and relaxing, sleeping in, walking and relaxing and maybe make some jewlery. I also have Monday from from RADS.
Have a great weekend and hope to see ya online.
Hugs Always,
-Angie

Oh, Angie, seeing children with cancer would be heartbreaking. As it is, I'm often the youngest looking person in the infusion center. I know there must be others, but I rarely see them.
Going in for my Herceptin yesterday, I found myself looking forward to seeing my nurses again. There are three main nurses who are usually there (two ladies and one man). I loved them all. We joked that with my hair growing, they won't even recognize me every three weeks. They're really good people. I tried to calculate how many hours I've spent in their care. It's easily 5-6 hours per chemo day and another 1.5 hour for each Herceptin day, so something like 33-39 hours. That's a long time. I figure I'll see my radiation tech at most for 6-7 hours when all is said and done. She's really sweet, and I like her too.
I feel better today after some sleep. Sometimes I think it all wears me down mentally too, and I just want to check out at the end of the week.
Have a good Saturday, everyone.

Congratulations, Bippy. Great encouragement to have a comrade with whom to work.
I have always known intellectually that the best support comes from others who have been through the same experience or are going through it at the same time. Now I truly KNOW this to be true. How great that we who share the same experience can support one another so well...over the internet!

Ellenpg - Just think, next week you are done! Awesome!
Gatamol - I made an appt for annual w gyno in a few weeks. Blah!
Nurseshark - Hoping all went well w surgery.
I had a bone density test yesterday. Will meet with MO on Wednesday for results. Started my Arimidex, no SEs that I've noticed. One could be weakening of bones over time. Last time I spoke to MO he was recommended 2 IV treatments a year to build up calcium and bones. Will ask again Wednesday and get more info on that. My hair is about 1/4 inch now. Looking at Pinterest for possible short hair styles. My hair is growing back every where actually. Had to start shaving again. That was actually the only plus, was low maintenance on hair grooming. Lol
Hope everyone is feeling stronger each day. So close, hang in there.

I'm a month behind you gals. Looking forward to swing some peach fuzz. I decided that as long as theres,no hair growth, cancer cells can't grow ei5her! Love, Jean

angie, I cannot with the kids. I saw a teen at one of my infusions and lost it.
Cassie, yes, I too have been extraordinarily lucky with caregivers. My rad girls are awesome. I absolutely love them.
Jenifere, yes! We are an awesome team.
Nurseshark, how you doon? Baby Levi have any wry expressions to share? . Hope you are feelin ok.
Catie, yes dammnit, why is my chin, face, lip, choch, and leg hair growin as if it was fertilizied?! My head hair is also growin, but wish faster. May post pic tomorrow.
Thanks my sistahs for the encouragment. I LOVE my new part time gig. Quickbooks is easy for me, and she is teaching me that along with Excel. Both are in demand here, so now I need not take classes, and will be able to get other gigs! My new boss is an angel. we work in her lovely home, with her sweet doggies. No dressing up. My office is state of the art, looks out onto the pool area. We kabitz about how cancer changed us, how everyone wrote us off, how we are gonna conquer the world. She is totally genuine and a refreshing change. Also, she has a huge heart and helps children as a guardian ad litem and conducts supervised visitation for the court. Very rewarding.

Gatomal= I LOVE YOUR BABIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I come to SF again I am visiting my new babies. Don't worry I do not have plans to come in the near future. San Fran is my favorite city. Best of luck with everything!!!0 -

Gatamol - You are so blessed to have such beauties. Hang in there with your treatment, it's getting close to end. Although it may not feel like it. I'm already blocking out my journey. It's not a memory I want to dwell on. Been there, done that is my motto from now on. You are so strong. Thinking about you and others still finishing up all the time. Kill that darn Cancer so it never comes back to bother us again

anyone is welcome anytime! Or to Reno! I spent most of last night up and down with the kiddos, but didn't mind. Was happy I was feeling pretty good. Just talked to my newly Dx friend, and I remember how bad the first few weeks or months were. It really feels different as you start doing your treatments. She's in the worst of it, but we were both laughing at the end. It's 74 here in SF. Beautiful day, but I'm talking a nap

gatmol they are gorgeous babies! I am jealous of your 74 degrees. It is 2 right now with a wind chill of negative 20.

I wish I had a storm in to snuggle by the fire...but only if I didn't have to go anywhere! Sorry I posted pics...I couldn't resist and was heading into an almost all- nighter...those are pretty hard durin chemo. I got my carpal tunnel shots thurs, but they didn't work as well as last time, in fact I am a bit worse. New mom spasms between my shoulder blades and neck...but live reading the boards...I feel like my August sisters are keeping me connected to the outside world. So thanks all, and stay warm

gatomal, it's warm down in our neck of the woods, too. I wish it would cool off and rain! Hope you get some better sleep tonight.

Gatomal your babies are adorable!
You all in Cali and other warm places can keep your comments to yourself...ie Cassie (just kidding...;)... It is FREEZING rain in SW MO and very cold and ugly outside. It HAS to be easier to heal where it's warm! Really I hate ice on the roads. I have to cancel my follow up appointment w my BS because it's supposed to ice and snow 10 inches and I live an hour away from my doctor. I have an appointment w my MO the next day so we'll see about that. Fortunately I don't think I need anything from either and my drains are still putting out over 100 cc a day each so they will both stay in. I'll just have to wait for my hormones till I can get there. Hugs to all of you...even those if you in Cali...lol

sorry just any. I would hate to have to miss important appt w docs especially with the drains in. So stressful! I hope that it's safe to drive and you do okay. It's just nice to have bad weather for one day if you can hole up! Not when you have med appts,
0 -
Thanks Gatomal. We really haven't had bad weather here this winter until now. This is our first snow/ice storm. I love rainy days when I cab stay home. I really am not too worried about missing except I really need some pain meds. Docs can't call them in in MO. You have to physically pick up a script. Anyway I'll live. I hope you are feeling better. You got your hands full for sure. Hope you are healing quickly so you can just rest w your babies. Gentle hugs Amy

I'm with Gatomal - I just want a few wintry days. We've barely had any. Hope you can drive to get your prescription Amy. What a pain to have to drive out to the dr. to get them.
