Awesome Cathy. I would love to see a kangaroo other than on TV. Seeing your pics makes me smile! They have some serious claws which I didn't realize!!

Thank you Yndorian. It was handy that the kangaroo got into good positions for me. I hope to post other nature photos some time soon and I went to the beach with my family on Thursday but it was too cold to swim yet.

yndorian1, I have been to many botanical gardens, but the one in Atlanta is particularly breathtaking. My niece lives there and I am visiting her next weekend and hoping we visit the gardens again!

Lurker here. Just wanted to say that so many times when I see these wonderful photos that I think to myself, that should be printed to canvas and hung on a deserving wall. Beautiful!

Lisa, what a beautiful rose!!

I think it is called Koco Loco rose. It starts out coffee colored and then changes to pink.

Gorgeous! Do you what it's name is?

Wren44: Do you mean my picture? It's a succulent, it's called Stapelia. There are several types of it, with flowers of different colors, but they all share the same characteristic: they are not appreciated by bees, for that reason they have developed a beautiful flower but it has a very ugly smell, like rotting meat, that attracts flies. When I met this plant I thought it was carnivora, but it is not. The flies are attracted to the smell, and pollinate it ... amazing! If you notice, next to the pot there is a fly. The flower is beautiful

A friend has one called a star cactus. It's in a hanging basket and the flowers hang down ever farther. Hers are white and star shaped. I'll bet they're related because hers smells bad and attracts flies also.

I just googled it and they are in the same family. The flowers are gorgeous, the smell not quite so much.
