Lisa, I love that pink flower. What a great photo!

Nancy, your garden was lovely. I'm sorry you don't have as much energy now. I pray you feel better soon.

Thank you ladies. I am still not feeling great. I treated myself and bought another orchid online and had it delivered today. I know...........a big splurge but the joy it will give me staying indoors will be worth it. It is only in spike (as they call it) so there are no blooms. I did that on purpose so that in later spring and summer I should have pretty blooms. I just have to feel well enough to take some pics of my orchids now that are in bloom. One of these days hopefully.

Beautiful flowers Lisa. Rose, hibiscus and iris I am guessing. Is the yellow flower a type of tulip? All beautiful.

Thanks Yoga. My orchid was delivered today. When I went out to get it a neighbor was walking by. She said is it your birthday. I said no I just treated myself. This lady has an incredible green thumb and has orchids too. This new orchid is really big. Wow. I can't wait for the blooms. It has several buds on it just now forming.

Lisa, I love those those happy looking flowers. Love the colors.

Lisa, those flowers do look very cheerful.

Nancy, I hope you really enjoy your orchid plant. What colour are the blooms?

Cathy, the orchid only has buds forming but according to the online picture it should be a gold/orange color. I actually bought this one based on what they said about it. Also it was a different color than the ones I already have and said it was a very popular hybrid. It is much bigger than my others as well. I have two minis that are really cute. They say it will be 4-8 wks before it blooms which will be perfect especially if we are still in our stay at home mode we are in now. Chicago is now considered a hot spot for the virus and I live in a suburb of Chicago. So my indoor flowers may be my gardening for this year. I have some perennials but I have considered myself a container gardener for many years and those are annuals.

I am feeling a bit better today and may take some pics of my orchids. We'll see.

Nancy, I'm glad you're feeling a bit better and I pray that continues. Aren't you even allowed to go into your backyard? I'm sorry, it must be tough having to stay home. We are still allowed to go to the grocery store and other important moving around.

Lisa, We really appreciate the cheery flowers. We have daffodils in bloom and tulips starting to bud, but nothing like the array you have access to.

    Thanks Yoga.

Cathy, I can go outside but because of my sickness and not knowing for certain that it is not the virus since my antibiotics didn't knock it out. If the only essential businesses are open I am not sure what that means for ability to buy flowers.

Lisa, I don't even know how many days it has been in IL because I have been sick and wasn't out much. I have had days of feeling better and then not. I did get out to get my mammogram and ultrasound last week and that is the only time I have been out of my car. My scans were all fine so that was a relief.

Here is one of my mini orchids that I took today. I need to work with my indoor lighting but the best I could do for now.

This is one of my larger orchids.

Thanks Yoga and Wren. I bought some orchids earlier this year and that was before learning all about the care of them on Youtube videos. I could write a funny book on how to kill off your orchid in 8 days or less. Let's just say it involved falling from the top of my refrigerator several times and putting distilled vinegar to water them instead of distilled water. LOL So I bought more after knowing exactly what to look for. So the newer ones are doing great but I am still trying to figure out a good place for them. I carry some back and forth depending on where the light is. When there blooms are done then we'll see if I can get them to rebloom in the winter. That is the goal so we'll see how much I have learned and if my environment will be conducive to keeping them thriving. I originally just bought them for some indoor photo opps but then got hooked on growing them. My house may be taken over by them at this rate!! Just an FYI. If you buy an orchid DON'T do the ice cubes for watering no matter what the directions say to do.

Nancy, it's a pity that antibiotics don't work on any viruses. I'm so glad your scans were fine!! What lovely pink orchids!! I hope your orchids bloom in winter and you enjoy them.

Lisa, that purple flower is awesome!!

Lisa, thank you. Yes, even though I am struggling to figure out where to put all of these orchids I don't regret buying them one bit. They are giving me much joy during this time of staying home and recuperating. I love your purple iris. That is a great mountain scene. Is that fog? Very cool.

Cathy, I was diagnosed as having a bacteria sinus infection based on the fact that I had a head cold for many days prior. That is how they figure that. I was supposed to follow up with my primary doctor but with all of the craziness of the last couple of weeks I didn't want to bother him with what I thought was an unnecessary visit. However when I continued to not feel well now it is really a scary thing to see a doctor now. So I will continue to wait and see. How is your new house coming along?

Nancy, I'm sorry you still have an infection and I pray you feel better soon. I hope you have enough support and I'm thinking of you. My new house is finally getting there. The hybrid floor is laid, the kitchen is mostly finished apart from painting and the bathrooms are being worked on this week. We are hoping to move house next week, so long as the removal company is still working by then. We are very busy moving things in the car to my new house. It will be nice when we can hand the keys back to our rental and be properly moved in.

    Lisa, gorgeous flowers!! Lovely.
