Bandwoman - love the close up of the moth! and SoCal - that moon picture is awesome - I don't have special lenses for my little Canon SX. This is the closest I can get to a moon picture.

Great photos, Nancy, Lisa and GmaFoley! Nancy, I especially think the moth action photo is amazing.

Thanks GM and Cathy.
GM, love your little bird too. Is that a Wren? Your Moon shot is very good with your SX.

GM I have two Canon SXs one with 40 zoom and one with 65 . I mainly use my SX70 but when I need a pocket camera I use my SX280. No extra lenses.

It looks like a beetle with the irridescent green.

Love it Lisa.
I have a Canon SX 50 which has not seen any action since I got my Nikon P1000.

Mine is a Canon SX 510 - Bandwoman that is a wren and she had babies twice now this spring/summer. The little ones from the second batch are about to leave the nest.

That's a gorgeous car, Lisa!

It's it a "low rider"

GM, I bet that is fun watching all the activity with the baby wrens. It would be for me.

Doesn't that photo just make you feel refreshed? It looks so cool and shady. Where is it?

Now that is a green photo!! Love it

Can you guess what this is?

I certainly can't. It looks like a cross between Christmas tinsel and sea coral.

Cathy, good guess, but no.

Coral?

kathindc is CORRECT. Good job. It is a type of Celosia.
I found this over a week ago and went back today to take the whole plant. It is the most unusual flower I have ever seen. I could not reproduce the real color. It was a very, very deep purple. It almost looks like a human brain up close.
Here is the whole plant. It is as if someone sliced it in two but that is the whole plant.

Wow, Nancy! It does look like a brain and it looks magenta in colour (a mixture of hot pink and purple) on my screen. I'm glad you were able to go back to take a photo of the whole plant.
