    Love the photos.

Lisa, I love the colors that complement the Monarch. Your purple flowers are beautiful.

I haven't had a chance to visit the swans but I hope to soon.

    GM love that precious fawn.

I finally got to take some pictures on the last day of June. I am still participating in the ongoing photo contest. I had a last ditch effort today to get in my June pics. This was the first time I have been out for a long time. It turned out to be a Goldfinch day.

How have you been feeling? Did you get the Coronavirus result back yet?

Thanks Cathy and Lisa. I'm sorry as I thought I had replied but didn't. Actually maybe it went poof because I remember posting that my Covid 19 test was negative. I have had trouble with my internet stopping and starting and I have had some trouble posting on other threads. Anyway I am doing better. I traveled today to see my Mom. We still have her house and that is where I stay. I got in too late to see her tonight and now you have to make appointments to see anyone in this facility. I have to stay outside her patio in the grass with my own chair and she has to stay inside behind the patio screen with a mask and me with a mask as well. One visitor at a time with a time limit of one hour if someone else wants to visit. I couldn't reach the facility when I called this evening so hopefully I can get through tomorrow and be able to see her. I haven't seen her in six months and have had very little time on the phone as she can't hear the phone ring. It is hotter than blazes here so I bought this goofy looking fan that hands around your neck and has two mini fans that blow on your face. It even lights up different colors in the dark. So hopefully that will help some. Cathy, you are in your winter time now I think. I could stand some cold about now. LOL Take care and I hope you are getting well adjusted to your new house.

    GM, cute little hummingbird.

Well it is late here and I need to get to bed.

Nancy, I'm glad you're Covid-19 test was negative. I hope you enjoy your visit with your mother but I'm sorry you have to be on the other side of a glass door. I hope you get to see her soon. I'm sorry it's so hot there and I hope you don't find it too bad.

It's been quite cold here and I'm thankful for the heating. We are slowly settling into the new house and getting organised but we still feel burnt out from getting renovations done and moving house.

Thanks Cathy. My first visit with my Mom was extremely difficult. They let us both go outside. It was thundering and storming so I wasn't able to be on her patio while she was inside. We were under covering so that worked but everything else didn't. My poor Mom was so utterly confused. She couldn't understand why we both couldn't go inside. So that first visit seeing her so much in metal and physical decline was just heart breaking. Today I was able to visit her on her patio but she had a really hard time hearing me even with her hearing aids but she was not as confused and more like I know her to be with dementia. I will have one more visit tomorrow and then I have to go back home since a friend is taking care of my flowers for me. So I really hope things go well tomorrow so I can leave not feeling sad and disheartened like I felt yesterday. One of the nurses told me that this lockdown has been especially difficult for my Mom and that was apparent. I think I am grieving her loss before it has happened and have been for quite some time.

We could use some of your cold about now. It has been oppressively hot here but unexpected storms have come up and then have for a short time cooled off the air but the humidity is so high.

Take care and glad you are slowly settling into your house.

I'm Glad you were able to see your mom. There are so many in our town and aren't even allowed visitors outside - We have a group that sends letters of greetings to all the people at the nursing homes.

My flowers and veggies are going crazy here:

Nancy, I'm sorry that your first visit with your Mom was extremely difficult and the second one was difficult too because it was hard for her to hear. I so hope your next visit goes better and you feel more at peace about her. I understand you grieving her loss before it happens. Also, when someone you love has dementia, it is an ongoing loss, as you lose how she used to be. I feel for you.

Bandwoman I went through the same sadness with my mom for about 12 years until she passed away. I knew that she never even remembered my visits. Basically I also mourned her loss for way before she actually passed. My heart goes out to you and your family. I have been down that road and it is very hard.

Gm, thanks. My Mom is not in a nursing home but a supportive living facility which is basically assisted living with levels of care you pay as needed. Their rules are not as strict as the nursing homes but this particular facility has been pretty strict but I am glad because they had one infected and was able to prevent all the others from being infected. I love your orange lilies.

Cathy, I know you are freshly acquainted with loss after losing your twin sister. It is just hard and it takes time. This has been so ongoing that it makes it difficult as it saps your strength.

Mums, the most difficult part for me is that her decline had been gradual over a nine year period and since the lockdown her decline has been very rapid. I saw her at Christmas time and then wasn't able to reach her by phone for many, many weeks. When I did finally get to see her the change from Christmas time was shocking. The last day I visited she asks me my first name. That was a shock as well. She hasn't been eating except drinking Ensure and eating cookies. I am not sure how long one can exist like that but the doctor tried an appetite stimulant and one of the CNA's told me it only helped increase her appetite for sugar and nothing nutritious. She is not putting her hearing aides in so I know I will not be able to reach her by phone. I am not sure when I will return either since I have a yard full of flowers and I pay a friend to take care of them.

I do love seeing both you and your DH's pictures from your worldly travels.

Thank you all for your encouragement.

    Nancy

Nancy, thank you for understanding about my grief about my twin sister. I'm sorry your mother has been declining fast and I pray that she starts eating more nutritious food and doing better.

Lisa, what a lovely photo! It's so cold here and it's months since I've seen the beach. What did you take the day off from?

When I was taking a picture of the monarchs this afternoon in my yard, this teeny tiny butterfly hopped around. He was less than an inch.

My Sun hats are developing cobwebs. 😎But I have chosen to bite the bullet and fly to Grenada with my daughter and grandchildren on aug 3. Will fly direct and stay in a private bungalow near the beach. My DH refuses to join us 😖. But for me Life is too short to hide at home any longer. Hope all my B.C. sisters stay safe. image
