Nancy, I love the color of that cockscomb. Red is a popular color for itin my area.

Good quiz. My first guess would have been coral. Second guess would have been a pile of plastic birthday party leis. Gorgeous color.

I wish I could have reproduced the deep purple it really was but it was close. The party leis is what I thought of too. Thanks everyone for playing along. Today I am traveling quite a bit out of town to visit a sunflower field. They have a $50 photographer fee and I called inquiring about that because I was sure this was for professional photo shoots which I don't do. The lady acted like if I have a professional looking camera then...................... so this may be a trip for nothing. Hope to have some fun sunflower pics to post minus the $50 fee!!!

I don't think you can get more cheerful than that.

Great photo, Nancy! I'm glad you got to take photos.

Thanks Wren and Cathy. The two big challenges for me was trying to avoid groups of children without masks and praying none of the bees would get after me. I am very afraid of bees and they were everywhere!!!!

Love the sunflowers! That is one big flower! Glad you enjoyed your trip. It is my birthday Sunday and I am hoping to take a trip to the river and find a quiet place to photo shoot.

Thanks GM. It was my birthday was on Aug. 3 so my photo outings have been my present to myself. Happy Birthday to you and enjoy your photo shoot.
Lisa, that bird is giving someone the eye. Love the flowers.
Cathy, I didn't realize I was in a field of bees until I got in there. I have photographed so many bees that hopefully I am getting better with the fear.

Thank you Cathy for the birthday wishes. Is that one of your roses? Very pretty.

You're welcome, Nancy. That's a photo I took in 2007 of someone else's roses, then I added the words.

Thank you for the Birthday wishes too Cathy!

Wild sweet peas next to the Umpqua River. Took this last year.

GM, those could almost pass as orchids from a distance. Very pretty.

I love watching birds taking a bath. Beautiful birds. Not sure I have seen any like that here.

We have a tub in the front filled with rocks that used to be used in the yard. I put a screen over it to cut down the leaves landing in it. Over the winter, the tub fills up with water and the screen is bent (probably by raccoons). The birds, especially starlings bathe in the water jumping up and down and acting like they're at a water park. It's fun to watch because they look like they're having a great time.

We only have Baltimore Orioles but I have never seen any in my yard. I don't put out fruit for the birds so I probably won't ever see any.
Wren, a water park for birds made me laugh. A great idea. I probably could never find this pic but I had a flock of starlings try to get to my heated bird bath one winter. It was like a scene out of the birds except they were just waiting their turn to get on the birdbath.

I found it. This was a red letter year in 2014. That was my bc diagnosis year.
