Hope everything is fine Nancy! - Dexa scan and mammo for me in a couple of hours. I really don't like the mammogram because of all the nerve pain I have but oh well.... A calming picture to share with all who are waiting!

Thank you Cathy. I am sorry to hear you are in Lockdown. This virus is not letting up any time soon that is for sure. Our state has been pretty stable but now they are getting a bit concerned at the positivity rate which has risen our paper said today. Going back into lockdown is a bummer I am sure.

GM, good luck with your scans today. I am still waiting for results and probably won't know anything until seeing my doctor on Monday. Beautiful picture.

I just got word that my Mom fell out of bed they think. I don't know specifics yet but apparently someone must have found her on the floor this morning to come to that conclusion. They didn't rush her to the hospital but are probably waiting for a response from her doctor. Life is complicated for sure.

    Nancy

GmaFoley, I hope your scans go well today and they don't hurt too much.

Nancy, I'm sorry your Mom fell out of bed. I pray she'll be okay.

I visited a Heron Rookery yesterday. This rookery is closed to the public for many months during nesting season. It is full of herons, egrets and cormorants. It just opened to the public last weekend. I was happy to see many birds still there. Here are some pictures of it.

The nesting boxes and structure are in the middle of the lake.

Here you can see a couple of egrets and several nests.

It was a good visit. Actually I was scouting out this location to take some sunset pictures but not for that day. I hope to get a beautiful sunset with the nesting boxes and structure in the foreground hopefully soon. I'll post if it works out.

I got good news today. I saw my neurologist today as a follow up of the MRI to check the brain tumor. Things are stable and I will reimage in a year. My sinuses even though still a little bit of an issue she said looked not that bad. I have been doing a nasal rinse since May. Twice a day for five weeks and then every day since then. She thought that seemed awfully cumbersome so even though she is not the doctor who ordered that regime she suggested going every other day and then eventually once a week. So that was good news as well. So breathing a little easier now. Here is the sunset picture from the same place I took the rookery pics.

    Lisa, lovely flowers picture.

Nancy, I'm so glad your test results were good. I use Fess Nasal spray and it's quite easy to use (just spray and then blow your nose). I wonder if using that would help you to breathe easier without going to much trouble. Pretty sunset picture.

Thanks Cathy. My situation with my sinuses needed more drastic action. I do use a nasal spray as well but this rinse really does apparently hit all of the sinuses and help drain them. It is to prevent sinus infections so time will tell on that. I am glad this day is over now. I didn't mention the hot air balloon that went by as I was taking pics of the sunset. That was pretty cool seeing that and being able to get it in the frame. It made for a whole different shot than what I was planning.

My sunset with the hot air balloon made the newspaper today. They pick one photo per county and then I will compete with three other photos for the month to see who wins the $50.

I went back to this site on Sunday night with my newly repaired lens that has been in the shop for a good part of August. So I was able to use that lens on these pics and it worked great. I didn't have to pay a penny for the repair as I had bought a warranty on the lens. So glad I did.

These pics are with the heron rookery in the middle of the water. A great egret was flying towards me in this first pic and I was

able to capture it in my composition.

    image

This was once the sun set and part of the edge of the rookery is showing. I wanted so much to hang round to see what other colors might show up but this location is about ten minutes from the parking lot and they close at sunset so I was afraid of being gated inside.

    Thanks Mums.

Your Grenada sunset is gorgeous. We have NO palm trees in Illinois unfortunately. LOL Looks like you had a great time. I agree. It is like taking time to smell the roses. No matter how crazy our world is right now there is still beauty all around us.

Thanks Cathy. The orange sunset pic almost won for the month in the forest preserve contest but not quite. I was listed second which is an honorable mention status which does publish in the Chicago Tribune so it has been a wild ride for the last few weeks.

Lisa, love your moon pic. The night I had planned to shoot the moon I was just too done in so never got to it. Glad to see yours.

Thanks Cathy. They pick a winner each month and then of those eight finalists they vote on Facebook to see who wins the three top places. I won second place in that whole thing two years ago and won a nice chunk of money which I gave to charity. I don't know if they would pick me again but it is a wider audience than I would have otherwise as they post all of the submissions. I am not on social media but have been considering Instagram for a while so it is a fun outlet for me. There are some really talented photographers that submit so it's fun to see where people take pics. They have to be in the forest preserve of this county so it is limiting.

Are you still in lockdown? I am trying to avoid any crowds this Labor Day weekend here in the states.

    Nancy, lovely sunset!

Thanks for asking. We have been in Stage 4 lockdown since 2nd August and we thought they were going to be lifted in a week but now they're going on for an extra 2 weeks after that (28th September). I watched today's news and there were 59 new Coronavirus cases in my state and 5 deaths. Then there will be hardly any more changes to the restrictions till 26th October. It isn't till 23rd November if there are virtually no new cases, that things will return relatively to normal. That's such a blow! The state government is being very harsh and so many companies will go out of business and people's mental health isn't great either. It's difficult only being able to go to the supermarket or outside for exercise within 5 kilometres. I haven't seen my Mum for ages and she turns 80 next month.

Thanks Cathy. I am sorry that you are having so many restrictions but I do think that in the end it will pay off rather than loosening them too soon which has happened many places here in the USA. It is not fun and I know you are entering your spring time which makes it tough. That is when ours was as well and we thought it was only going to be a couple of weeks and that didn't happen which was a huge disappointment so I can really sympathize with that. We had very strict restrictions in my state and now there is a warning that our state is now the most vulnerable to have a surge over this holiday weekend even though our numbers are good but going up. Hopefully an effective vaccine will help our whole world in the near future. I took up the orchid growing hobby while in shelter in place so maybe you can find something that will help pass the time. Hang in there.

Beautiful shot Nancy I will try and get a fall moon shot when I have a chance. It is usually quite a sight up here but not usually noticed till Oct for its beauty.

Am stuck at home again until we can find destination that doesn’t require a quarantine. Don’t. Realize how addicted we are to travel until it has to stop for whatever reason.

Grandchildren are heading back to school so my home entertainment will now be cut off as well.

Hope all my Buddies on this site stay healthy and happy. Sending good vibes from Canada.
