Isn't it a nice one Lizzysmom, there are a lot of pictures coming from areas that could actually see it, but this one is my favorite. There will be another Blood Moon in April next year!

Here is what my flowers looked like in some other years before bc.0 -
Bandwoman, that is just beautiful! Your flowers are so lovely and that lawn, wow, I would love mine to be as lush as that!

What a beautiful garden, and yes that lawn is so lush! Our neighborhood is built on very rocky soil and the lawns suffer. We have a garden service who put down pet safe products and mow. They have just aireated the lawn this week and its full of holes. It is better than it was before they started but will never be great. Our poor neighbor has had his lawn re-turfed but its still bad. The good thing is that the plots are very wooded which helps block out the railtrack that runs along the back. We lost a couple of beautiful trees to disease the last few years and have planted some others to replace them but they are small.
This was taken of the side/backyard in the fall last year. The grass had all needed planting in the summer as the town had dug up half the yard where there is an easement between the plots for a run off. You can see the stones at the back where the pipe comes out. one of the neighbors noticed something odd with the ground in the street and it turns out we were in danger of having a SINKHOLE!!

Thank you ladies. When my neck surgery put an end to my professional clarinet playing gardening became my replacement passion.
Lizzysmom, Your trees are beautiful. Looks like a peaceful retreat.

Lizzysmom, those trees are gorgeous! I can imagine sitting in that chair watching the wind in the leaves!

Hi, bandwoman1234! So sorry to hear about your idiot
surgeon. Let me know if you need me to come beat the crap out of him. I am
seriously sleep deprived, and it might help. Love the swan pic!Izzysmom – Love the pet photos! Very professional! And you
must be the Dragonfly Whisperer!Lisa – sorry I missed you in Miramar… maybe next time! LOVE
the huge pink rose…. Those little white butterflies are so different….. the big
monarch is gorgeous.Ariom – is that a Bradford Pear tree? If so, it’s a VERY
popular and pretty tree in California…. But the smell of the blossoms just
chokes me! Still, a pretty picture!Theda – lovely composition… and please do keep posting those
pics of paradise!ncollett – interesting texture! Once we visited the
Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, and there was an exhibit from an artist who
took aerial photographs from her plane, then rendered the pictures on huge
lengths of silk in batik. Awesome…. Oh, wait… here’s her home page: http://maryedna.com/tag/charleston/clickchick – AMAZING!!!
Gardengumby – those fishing pics are magical! Like
illustrations in a children’s book!OceanSky – too cool!!!
Re: MOON SHOT – Bah! DH set up his new camera on the tripod in the living room just in case he felt like getting up at 3 a.m. to get some pictures. He didn’t.

Ladies – as we are all interested in photography, I wanted
to bring this organization (SWEET NECTAR SOCIETY) to your attention. It is a
non-profit group made up of volunteer professional photographers who specialize
in taking photographs of children with severe disabilities. The photo shots are purely professional, and clothing is
even donated to make sure the child has something special to wear. For many of
these kids, these are the only photos the families will ever have of them
outside the hospital environment, wearing a hospital gown. They become lifetime treasures, both in photos and in a
specially-bound coffee table book that is donated to the family. Here is their main website – check out their gallery of “Sweeties”
http://www.sweetnectarsociety.org/
If you have Facebook, please “LIKE” the page, and you will
receive regular updates and photos of the latest “Sweeties.”https://www.facebook.com/sweetnectarsociety
This is a local organization, but perhaps there is something like this in your community!

Hello Blessings, no, my pear tree is a Packham Pear, no real perfume to the blossoms. It's a really old one, planted probably by the original owners who had a little fishing shack where our house is now. They were Italian and planted Apple, Pear, Lemon, Lime and Grapefruit trees and we still have vegetables that suddenly appear in the flower beds, where they must have had their vegetable patch.
I love the photo of the little girl and will take a look at the website. What a lovely idea!

wish I had brought my real camera along...my granddaughter is the one with the red headband on..

I have never heard of an organization like that but that is awesome.
Lisa, nice that you can watch your pretty grand daughter play soccer.
There was a pretty sky tonight at my mom's but missed many good shots because I forgot my lens VR was turned off. By the time I realized it the opportunity was almost gone.

Oh that photo of that little sweetie is so adorable! Its so sad to
think of the families not having other photos. Its something we so take
for granted.Lisa its a great action shot!! I love the way you have captured the moment with your granddaughter looking so focused on getting that ball!
Today I received an invite to a graduation ceremony
in November for a charity that I support that trains assistance dogs and
pairs them with people with disabilities WWW.NEADS.org .Its a long drive but I would love to go if possible and I think I
will call ahead and ask if it is OK for me to bring my camera. I expect
they may have a professional photographer there but I would love to take
some photos of the dogs and their owners to give to them if they think
it would be appropriate.Obviously I would not post any unless the owners
were comfortable with that so I will have to see.It was late this afternoon and the birds were very happy that I had put some new food in the feeder at my window. They were waiting their turn in a tree outside the bathroom and he feeder was very busy. I took some photos with high ISO as it was gloomy so they were a bit noisy but had some fall color. The one above I took yesterday before I filled the feeder. Mr Cardinal sitting on my window.

Lizzysmom, What great shots of your birds. Is that a little titmouse. So cute and the fall colors in background just set them all off. Your opportunity to go to this charity event sounds like a great way to maybe get your foot in the door with your pet photography. I hope it works out for you. I know if there was someone around to take some pics of my cat and me I would love that. Of course my cat isn't out in the public like a dog would be. How's your course coming along with your work and all?
We are celebrating my mom's 89th birthday tomorrow so that will be fun.

This is a picture of my mom who is 89 today. She still doesn't like to tell people how old she is. In her lifetime she has been a wife, mother, grandmother, best friend, Sunday school teacher, Stephen Minister and a stay at home mom which I am most grateful.0 -
Nancy C. How many days of rads have you completed. I had quite a bit of fatigue with rads. It will pass more quickly than you think. Your cornfields look very familiar. When I first bought my house 23 years ago there was all cornfield across the street from me. Now a big subdivision is there.
Went to the lake and no pelicans. Lots of ducks trying to keep warm. It is rainy and chilly here today. Going out tonight to celebrate my mom's birthday.
Pretty flower, Lisa.
Have a nice weekend.

Say Happy Birthday to your Mom. That little flower was growing by the side of the soccer field
