Our Anna's don't migrate. They don't have the gene that makes them go, so we feed them throughout the year.

    https://www.audubon.org/field-guide/bird/annas-hummingbird

Another quote I found on them:

The beautiful Anna's Hummingbird, a hummingbird common to the West Coast, is a special case since it doesn't really migrate. While some individual Anna's may adopt a temporary territory with a more favorable climate, others will stay in the same area year round. As such, Anna's Hummingbirds are considered resident birds of the U.S. and Canada.

I love our hummers. I saw 2 taking turns at the feeder, then flying off together. Looks like babies may be in the works before long.

Could the bush be a beauty berry? They're grown because the berries are attractive. Ornamental only, I think.

Teka- indeed I am lucky. They are coming around looking from left over seed from the winter feeding. I took it down the last week of March when the seed finished.

I don't know what that plant is, your DD should take the pic with her to a local nursery when time and am sure they can tell her.

My city sent the police to the independent nurseries this morning with a cease and desist order. Most of the nurseries are considered essential as many sell seeds and small veggie plants for gardens. This is our planting time but the shut down the independents this morning. I was a my fav nursery trying to finish getting some plants for my victory garden I am working on and showed up today and they had literally just been shut down. They looked pissed. Big box stores like Home Depot, Lowes, etc. are allowed to be open and sell their plants still. Idrove by Lowes after and saw a crowd there.

Our Gov said in a state address on Thursday there were too many people congregating in parks, on bike trails and especially at nurseries and gardening centers. So I guess this was her solution. We gardeners are in an uproar today. My hope is that maybe they will allow them to deliver. I have a couple things I need from them and will buy if they can deliver like many other places.

Good news - the apricot seed I grew last year - The little tree survived the winter. I gave it a new home today so it has more room to grow.

    Gma, That's exciting!

Jazzy, Nurseries here have curbside pickup or you can visit by reservation. That should work there, too.

Wren- they actually had that as part of their services, but also had people allowed to come in and pick things out too. If they can re-open and JUST do that, I will go get some items this week.

Good news! My fav nursery is now allowed to do on line orders and curbside pick up only. I got on it today and got my order in for the things I was going for last weekend and got some beautiful lemon grass pots, and some squash plants and a mini tomato plant for my victory garden. I was so happy! I told myself today this feels so important to me that we can buy from them and help keep them going until they can open up a bit more.

We are on lockdown here until May 3rd.

Still not sure what this tree is - I thought it died with snowpocolypse last year, but it is in full bloom.

The Christmas Cactus I got in December is still alive. When it started blooming again, I moved it to my living room window. The blooms are huge!

    Jazzy,

It's a Newton apple tree that I trained horizontally on a wire frame. It's very similar to Granny Smith apple.

Hello everyone. I so love gardening. I walk my garden several times a day and yep I am that silly one who gets excited to pull the weeds. I do 95% all edible and that includes not just veggies but fruit as well. Love seeing everyone's photos and stories.

The best way to heal the soul is to work the soil. Hug

Jazzygirl, Do you know the name of the yellow daisy like flowers? I've seen them here and have never decided if they're a flower or a weed.

Wren - they grow wild here. I don't know what they are but will ask a knowledgeable friend
