from what I recall from the endocrinologist you need to take something after stopping Prolia. I have just done a weekly oral biphospanate with great results. So sorry you have to deal with this on top of everything else

Who else hates the new layout/user interface of BCO? Takes several clicks to even see if anything new is there.
0 -
Jaycee, I don't like it, some think new way is better, I think old way is better, I'm old....lol

Hi All,
There should not be any additional clicks necessary. Can you explain? Also share if you are using the site mobile, or desk top/laptop and browser.
Thanks!!

Ah...so there has been a change. I was thinking I had a virus, and no I don't mean covid, in the computer. I always doubt my own sanity as in...hey...did it always look like this? Glad I'm not crazy.
0 -
Nope, no crazy, and I don’t like it either.
I’m always on my iPhone. When I finish in a thread, I click the back arrow, it goes to main page, then a few more clicks to get back to favorites. Bah humbug.

In the old interface, when I first got into BCO, there was a menu icon in the upper right hand corner and it would display a number in a circle on that menu button. That number would designate how many items had new posts including PM's and the threads I follow. Then when I got to favorites, each thread with new posts would be displayed with the word "new." I could tell whether I needed to click something or not. This no longer happens. I have to click the hamburger menu and then favorites to see if there are any new posts. Mostly, I use my phone but the same thing happens on my computer. I use an Android phone. I use a Chromebook laptop.

Thanks so much for the details! Super helpful in debugging!

Agree with you guys, don’t like it! 👎

Which part don't you like? We'd love specifics so to best help!

I read BCO on a Kindle and have a gripe about two things: one is the lack of the new postings numbers info as mentioned by jaycee. The other is that the breastcancer.org tab is so close to the tab in the corner that it can be a challenge to get to the one in the corner and of course, that is the one I use most! Not crazy about the red background of the selection page but I can live with it.

We definitely are working on the glitches, and all the color/readability feedback is being heard too. We really appreciate your input!!

I haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate the pink. Hate it with the white hot heat of 10,000 suns.
0 -
That's some serious hate you got going there, Edj. The white hot heat of 10,000 suns? Have to say I agree the cloying picture painted by all the pink is a little Pepto Bismol nauseating. All we need are bows, sparkles and some dancing unicorns. More real would be black and blue and purple boobs, people puking, picc lines, ports, radiation burns and baldness that is not on a picture perfect model, as the very perfect looking woman who looks regal and proud with her majestic bone structure and long, elegant neck. How about bald, black under the eyes, haggard and either gaunt from barfing or bloated from steroids? How about haunted eyes hollow from an up- close visit with your own mortality? None of that is pink. None of it.

If. Only.

I do not like the color changes. I assume I am using the mobile site as I am on an IPad. It it difficult to find where to log in. It takes three clicks to get back to the list of favorites to select another article to read. Change is difficult. Was there information pushed that this change was coming? Is there a point to the website changes? I have attempted to find an explanation and guide to how to use the new format, but have not been successful.

Runor, I was just about to post about the Pepto Bismol pink, but you beat me to it. Looking at it makes me feel like I need Pepto Bismol.
The left side panel with the pink copy on the ecru background is very difficult to read, to the point that the letters almost seem out of focus.

I HATE the new layout. The faint pink background hurts my eyes. Plus, I hate pink and I dislike change that doesn't improve function or beauty.

All those disliking the changes, let BCO know on the post your glitches thread. A lot of complaints on that thread regarding problems and the color scheme with the “new and improved” look. I am not a fan of these changes, particularly since I use an iPad.

Why can’t I stay logged in? I hate having to log in each time I visit, and the sign in box is tiny, hard to find.
Oh, and ditch the pink.

We're providing other color options either later today or tomorrow, so stay tuned!

I haven't posted in a while because I am post treatments 14 years out and have been thriving well so far. However, today was that dreaded stressful yearly appt for my mammogram. This is the 3rd time that I have been questioned why I do not get an MRI. The technician had to scan my left breast 4 times vs typical 2 times like my right side. The reason is the radiologist has difficulty reading my scans because of the scar tissue. My BC was very deep up against the chest wall where some muscle was removed during my lumpectomy. I've been getting blown off my oncologist(s) any time I ask about getting baseline MRI for radiologist to reference. I am now at the SNAPPING point where I've had enough of being jerked around. Did I mention how painful it is to pull against the old scar tissue between those exam plates.
Why do I have to argue with my oncologist to get PERMISSION for an MRI script?? I have f*****g insurance so he is not paying for it. What is the excuse - lazy - can't be bothered - what's the deal? I will see him next month and I am suspecting I will get discharged from his care anyway as I am no longer taking Femara. He will probably view me as a PITA and not an active patient - so be done with me.
Last year, I had negative experience getting my Dexascan. While under his care I was taking Femara plus getting twice yearly Zometa injections. I get the written script for full body Dexascan meaning spine and both hips. I've had the majority of my bone loss in my right hip and had Osteopenia for years. The same Radiology Group that had done these scans in the past - this time only reported the scan results of my spine and left hip. They DID NOT report results of the RIGHT HIP with the bone loss history. It was me who saw the missing information on my report - my oncologist DID NOT NOTICE it!! WTH!!! I had to argue with the Radiology dept which claimed they changed their scanning protocol to not report the right side data. INSANE - who ever heard of such nonsense especially when the doctor's script specified full body dexascan. Seriously - who makes this s**t up?? Yup - I was charge a 2nd time to get the missing right hip results.
I am seriously considering not getting yearly mammograms now. I do not want the additional radiation exposure of 4 scans every year to my left side. I had 35 rounds of radiation besides my chemo treatments and know what hell can be like. I now have heart valve issues in addition to hypothyroid medication.
Has there ever been a study on how many patients develop thyroid problems post treatments? During radiation treatments is there a reason why they do not use a thyroid shield like in the dentist office? Twice, I had to remind the technician before the mammogram that I wanted a Thyroid shield. This should be automatic practice IMO. So I am very frustrated and tired of dealing with the healthcare system.
I apologize to those who are in far worse place than me as I did not want to be a pity party. I just needed to rant.....

cp418, back when I was getting MRIs regularly, it was actually the Radiologist who initiated the process by writing at the bottom of my mammo report that she recommended that I have an MRI in 6 months and a follow-up mammogram in 12 months. With that on the radiology report I had no problem getting the requisition from my doctor - in my case it was my PCP who provided the requisition because I was no longer seeing an MO.
If the Radiologist is having difficulty reading your mammogram imaging, any possibility he/she could include the need for an MRI on your mammo report? Or has this already happened and it didn't lead to anything?

This time - I specially asked the Radiologist to write in her report the recommendation for MRI. It is frustrating that as a patient I get the 'standard' letter in the mail for clear mammogram - however, the oncologist will get a more detailed report. I'll discuss with my PCP in the future too about this recurring issue. At this time, I see no point in seeing an oncologist as he does not do tumor markers or Vitamin D level, and the same blood labs are duplicated by my PCP. I'm so done with this stress and butting heads with doctors for years. I'm seriously considering mammogram every 2 years if I cannot get a baseline MRI. I simply do not want the excess radiation exposure to my left breast.

Oh boy!!!! I’m burning up.
My MOs pharmacy has free delivery. Nice service. Got a call this am meds would be delivered this pm. OK.
Just now looked at pill bottle The rx label says letrozole. Correct. The bottle label says anastrozole. Haven’t taken that for 2-3 years.
Heads are gonna roll tomorrow.

Spookiesmom - that is plain incompetence and irresponsible of the pharmacy. Maybe they are using pharmacy technicians to fill the script and that individual is not being overseen by a pharmacist. I agree - bang some heads tomorrow because medications errors are UNACCEPTABLE.

Especially when Phizer website specifically states Ibrance is to be taken with letrozole.

can it not be pink? I get bc is pink. How about a neutral color. One can argue that since men get bc too and visit here, neutral is more appropriate.

cp418 I hear you. Congrats on being so far but yet hello? Once you’ve have this lord knows if you will get it again.
I don’t know I know nothing. I’ve had to accept so much and I’m trying to move on but it is hard and I am pissed at the world, and yet at times I’m at peace knowing I control nothing. Only what I choose to and for me, right now cancer is not it. I had a friend over tonight and I don’t remember if I took meds or not, so what? Tomorrow is another day.
Only time will tell if current protocol is actually saving lives. Must trust the system but understand be your own advocate at the same time. They are not purposely trying to kill us. It just happens.
